Sitting in a spacer's bar on Ryloth was a sort of nostalgic thing for Jonyna. While she much prefered the clubs of the city-planets, cantinas like this made her feel like an old bounty hunter again.

Someone who had once been a padawan of the order had contacted her. It was good to hear that there were still people out there who cared about her name. Not that the rest of the galaxy seemed to care. She took a sip at that thought. First time since Alderaan that her name had meant something, Instead of being a rogue, she was a somebody.

Now she just needed to wait for Phoebe to show up.

Kala’unn and it’s star port were the kind of place a Corellian like Phoebe could feel at home, especially since her brush with darkness quickly followed by the collapse of the GA had Phoebe hiding out in the unaligned outer rim. She looked at THR as a potential home, especially since it currently governed her home world, but something about it felt wrong, not that it was bad or contained bad people, just not the place for her and where she was in her life right now.

Phoebe's solution was to go through her Jedi contacts and start reaching out to them, fortunately for her, or by the will of the force, she got an answer on her first try, Master Si, a Cathar Jedi Master who had taught a class on aerokinesis that Phoebe had attended. Though that was their only formal meeting Phoebe could see some similarities between the two of them especially since both of them seemed to be keeping their distance from the new Jedi Order for the time being.

Phoebe entered the cantina, the kind of shady place smugglers and other less than reputable types hung out named Blind Jump, still in her flight suit, a dark brown X-Wing Pilot’s jumpsuit fit for her Sabre Class stealth X-wing. Her only concession to style being the heeled nerf leather boots she wore that were not any sort of standard issue and anyone without command of the force would risk rolling an ankle running in, let alone fighting in.

Phoebe scanned the smoky interior of the Blind Jump and spotted Jonyna pretty quickly at the bar, quickly settling up at the next stool to the Jedi Master, a stool that was clearly designed to be accommodating to as many species rumps as possible without being comfortable to any of them.

Ordering a drink, a local spice liquor, Phoebe set her flight helmet on the bar as she received and paid for the almost offensively blue tumbler of liquid before turning to Jonyna to speak, clearly a little nervous, but consulting it well enough that only someone who could read her force aura would be able to tell.

“Thank you for agreeing to meet with me Master Si, I need to talk with someone, but I couldn’t bring myself to go to the order, I’m not even really sure who or what the order is these days to be honest.”

Phoebe looked like she wanted to say more but didn’t, cutting herself off by taking a sip of her drink.

"I'll drink to that." Jonyna said idly as she took a sip, before giving Phoebe a soft smile. "And please, it's just Jonyna these days. If I'm honest, the order doesn't seem to agree what the order is these days. The High Republic is in fighting while the sith are invading. I find it sorta ironic, if you ask me. Story of the Jedi in a nutshell. But," She swirled her own drink around. A white liquid that in better circumstances, Jonyna would be cracking jokes about. "I'll be honest, if you're coming to me, you're not looking to the jedi path anymore. I haven't been that way in a few years now. However, the Bokken path is more than happy to have you. You wanna make a change to the galaxy? Walk with me."

Phoebe listened to Jonyna speak and took a moment before speaking up herself, “I’m not really sure what path I’m on these days to be honest, but I did realize that the it was more important to stop stressing over picking the right path and just making sure I’m not on the wrong one.”

Phoebe
knocked back the rest of her drink, “It might not be the proper Jedi path, but it’s better to get moving and correct course later, you don’t need to give me the full recruitment speech. I might need a replacement for Yardsale though, the Stealth-X’s been nice to me but she’s a hanger princess.”

Jonyna let out a chuckle. "I can book you an appointment at the drydock. You ever wanted to fly something different? I got a few choices. B-wings, Y-wings, plenty of X-wings I can give you to customize. Hell, I ever got a few off the books models. You ever see a Flyswatter in action?"

Admittedly, Jonyna didn't get to talk shop on her ships all that often. She enjoyed showing off, even if it just meant throwing out names.

“I like the form factor of an X-Wing, it’s iconic. Actually most of my troubles come from the fact that it’s a highly specialized craft that’s been extensively modified and poorly documented, I can deal with someone else’s documented work or my own undocumented work, but someone else’s undocumented work and I’m grounded for three weeks trying to machine the casing for an oddly shaped hyperdrive motivator only to find out it’s actually off of a light freighter only manufactured out in Sith space.” Phoebe said explaining the exact issue she’d dealt with when she was trying to find work on Nar Kaaga a few months ago.

“I did see one of your Flyswatters in action, well some mad man uploaded the sensor data from a bulk cruiser witnessing one in action to the holonet, it’d be pretty farkin’ nova to get behind the stick of one.” Phoebe said as she order another drink, this one Gizer Ale, something she could sip at without getting drunk.

Jonyna smirked.

That's the in she needed.

"How do you feel about fighting imperials? I can get you behind the stick of a Flyswatter tomorrow if you want. Today if you're antsy. You just gotta promise me you'll stick around and help us fight imps. You should see the work my admiral did on Caragash."

“Blast that’s all you had to say!” Phoebe said with some extra over the top excitement inserted into her voice.

“But if I wanted to become just a fighter pilot I could have just enlisted in one of any thousand planetary defence forces. I reached out to you for, well, Jedi reasons.” Phoebe took a sip of her drink to collect her thoughts. “I do need to learn, right now I know just enough to be a danger to myself and those around me.”

Jonyna let out a chuckle. "It's been a while since I've had a padawan, admittedly. You wanna learn the ways of 'fuck chit up'? I'll warn you, my teaching methods are a bit...unorthodox."

The last padawan she had bailed on her because of it. Before that, Rayia and Ko had questioned her every step. She wasn't one to explain why you needed a skill, rather, she expected you to find out when it mattered.

Phoebe looked around dramatically to emphasize their surroundings.

“No offence Master Jonyna,” Phoebe said, using the title to be a cheeky arse specifically because she’d been told not to use it, “If I was looking for someone with orthodox methods to learn from I wouldn’t be asking for training in a space port bar after making arrangements to meet it was a like a holonet hook up.”

That earned a snort.

"Cheers to that. Alright, you wanna take me up? Come on, lemme show you where you'll be staying. We can stow your X-wing inside. You ever seen the Reaper? I used to store her in the temple hanger, so I assume you'd have seen her at least on the outside."

She motioned Phoebe to follow, as she stood from her barstool and walked towards the door.

“I’ve probably seen her a few times, but when I was in the hanger I was elbow deep in X-wing parts or doing some sort of duty.” Phoebe admitted, that and it felt like every Knight and Master had some sort of personal vessel that was coming or going so pleasing who owned which ship was never an easy task, nor one she tried particularly hard at.

Phoebe paid for her second drink slammed it down as not to waste any of it and followed Jonyna out of the Jump.

“I gotta thank you for this, I was just looking for someone lessons, but taking me on like this, it means a lot to me.”

"It's what I do. Ask Ko or Rayia about it if you ever see them again. I learned it from the Nobles." She joked, leading them to the nearby starport. The Reaper was sitting there, Jonyna's droid D1-C3 D1-C3 working on fixing what looks to be a dented exterior panel. "Fixing her up Dice?"

<This panel is stubborn! I see you have a new friend?>

"New Paddie. Phoebe, Dice. Dice, Phoebe." Jonyna gestured to the two.

<Hello! I am D1-C3! Master Calculator and friend of all who believe in the power of math!>

Jonyna rolled her eyes, as she led them inside, the ramp dropping for Phoebe to find, not a loading bay, but rather what looked to be an armory. A myriad of blasters, blades, and sniper rifles hanging on the walls.

As well as a stormtrooper helmet, sitting on top of a shelf. Claw marks indented across it.

"You're free to borrow any weapons you need from here for missions, by the by. You have a preference? I prefer pistols myself."

"A Dee One, huh? I've got one of them, D1-V4. I call her Diva because she sure acts like one." Phoebe said, gave Dice a polite nod and added. "Nice to meet you Dice."

Phoebe
followed Jonyna up the ramp into the Reaper, looking around the compartment loaded up with weapons.
"Hell of a selection you've got here, but I'm gonna be honest, I never felt comfortable carrying a gun."

She did, however, reach out with the force to float a couple of thermal detonators over and hooked them onto her belt. "These, though, never felt comfortable without one or two."

"I mastered the blaster before I ever touched a lightsaber. Back in the day, these things were expensive and, more importantly, incredibly illegal to own."

She led them up a ladder, into what one would assume was the bridge.

Nope.

It was a living room. A beat up leather couch, a wooden table in front of it, and a holo-vision behind that.

On the other side of the room, the smell of a stew cooking, wafting into the living room from a door into a small kitchen. And then, next to that door, a door to a long hall, the sound of water shifting.

"Welcome to my humble abode. Now, yours. You have a preference for bedrooms?"

"I mean, look at the Galaxy, the latest Sith purge, wearing one openly these days isn't exactly healthy either," Phoebe said with a shrug as she followed Jonyna up the ladder to the next deck.

"Did you land this crate upside down?" Phoebe commented. Growing up on Corellia, she knew ships, an entrance through an armoury followed by a ladder up into a recreation area was far from any reasonable ship design.

The aftmost starboard bedroom compartment appeared to be unclaimed, so Phoebe just pointed and said, "As long as that one has a bed and storage space, it works for me."

Jonyna went quiet at the mention of the latest purge.

She had already witnessed one first hand. She wasn't interested in talking about another she had avoided. Though, at the mention of her ship...

"I...may have given the engineers an upside down blueprint to work off."

She hadn't admitted it to many people, but it was a tidbit she knew Phoebe would prod her on if she lied.

"And the bedrooms have more than just a storage space. A private bathroom, king sized bed, a desk for any time you might wanna work on a lightsaber. Feel free to take a peek."

"This is why you don't let the text orientation auto-correct on the datapad." Phoebe said playfully as she opened the door to the room, satisfied with the answer she'd received.

"Kriff, this cabin is bigger than my old room back at the temple, practically a flying luxury apartment. Hell, I could fit half my childhood home in here if I wanted to."

Phoebe
didn't bring any of her stuff with her, so as a show of claiming the room for herself, she tossed the flightsuit helmet and life support gear she was carrying onto the room's couch. Now anyone who opened the door would be able to see her claim.

"So where to now?" Pheobe asked, not necessarily meaning where next in the tour; whatever she smelt coming from the oversized galley had her attention, but more in a metaphorical sense about where the future, and the Force, would lead them.

"Now?" Jonyna chuckled. "Dice, do me a favor and set a course for Six. I'll keep up the tour for Phoebe for now. Six jumps minimum."

Dice rushed passed them in the hall, as he headed towards the bridge.

<On it!>

A moment later, they felt the jolt of the ship taking off, and the artificial gravity kicking on.

"You can move in later. For now, I wanna show you a treat. Follow me, you can go swimming in the pool later."

She walked up to the hatch, reaching up and pulling open and down the latter, and leading them upstairs.

"Don't take us to lightspeed yet," Phoebe said as she pulled out her commlink.

She thumbed it on, opening a line to her D1 astromech, Diva. "Hey Diva, track this ship and bring Yardsale in for a landing in the dorsal hangar bay, transfer the port authority whatever they want for our docking fees."

Phoebe
did give Jonyna the courtesy of calling the accidentally inverted cargo bay a proper hangar bay, there would be times and places for ribbing the Jedi Master over her ship's layout, but this wasn't it.

"Pool huh? Sounds like it's going to be a grand tour."
