Phrik in the Hand is Worth More Than Phrik in the Hills (Open)

Bastion was an odd place for Reine. Not necessarily weird or strange, but not completely normal either. Regardless, she ignored the matter for now. At the moment, she had a more pressing task at hand. She needed Phrik.

She didn't need a large amount, just enough. A few pounds of the metal was all. Enough for a lightsaber hilt would be sufficient. Which is why she was here and waiting. She needed a bit more help than what she could do alone, what with the guarded mines and all, so she'd sent a few clandestine messages out and hoped someone would show. One other would be sufficient for the mine raid. Anything more would be nice, but not necessary.

For now, however, she'd wait a bit to see if those contacted would show...

[SIZE=10pt]Once again I was out of work and in the market for a job any job just as long as it paid. it had been a whole two days since my last shower and I had finished my last strip of Nerf Jerk just today. I was On Bastion looking for work when a contact sent me a tip on a quick raid not far from my location. It was an answer to my prayers; well it would have been if I had prayed. I took down the location for the meet up with the Mr. Johnson, which was what all my clients, were known as. My rifle over my shoulder and my force imbued sword on my hip I made my way through the streets to the meet up. Normally I liked to do some leg work first and find out what I could about the employer, but today didn’t afford me much by way of time, and hunger was a wicked enemy of good sense. [/SIZE]

Bastion

A planet that I had lived on for about two years in which I had my training as an Imperial Knight. Here was where I was once more. You see, I came back to possibly look for any remnants of the Fel Imperium that had rose then fell. Dressed in my Templar robes, I slowed my Stratus Bike down to the entrance of a Palace that was forgotten since I was an 18 year old. Now I am 21. Able to Drink at any bar I wanted, and free to do as I wished. Also with the Jedi Knight title under my belt, I could say that this was a mission to find potential people to work with or to sway them to join the Silver Jedi Order.

Should it come up, I would.

I connected to the Holonet when a notification got my eye. A woman was wanting a little bit of help finding Phrik ore. I smiled as there may have been a few places that I might know where I could get some. Deciding to answer it, I speed off on my Speeder bike towards the destination. Using the Flight mode of the Land/airspeeder. Maximizing my speeds to be faster than most Podracers. ANd here I come ready to find another Lightsaber resistant material for my use. Well, maybe. That is if I didn't have to be stuck with the wrong people around here.

Reine was slowly but surely getting bored. Sadly, patience had never been something she'd ever been good at and it showed.

Fortunately, it looked like someone was coming. Multiple someones if her reading of the Force was right. She continued to wait with the newfound knowledge of arriving persons. Reine simply leaned against the wall of the tavern she waited by. Soon she'd have her phrik and soon she'd be one step closer to her goal.

I walked the whole way to the Tavern. My booted feet clacking dully on the duracrete as the meeting point cane into view. I brushed a blonde strand of hair from my face with my gloved left hand. The metal armor on the back of my hand, wrist and forearm reflected the light around me. The plate on my shoulder also shown as I pushed back my hood and looked at the woman who's description matched that of my contact.

I walked close and nodded. A perfect picture professionalism, if I was any judge.

"Ms. Bisset?" I stood as I waited for responses. "I'm Jaina. I heard you have work?"

"I do," Reine said to answer the woman's question. Once again, Reine needed to decide between lies or truths and opted for neither. "I was sent to retrieve a certain material here: phrik. I'm not to return without it."

Bisset stepped away from the wall and jabbed a thumb over her shoulder, implying the mines nearby.

"They refused money and threatened force when I insisted on buying them outright. This leaves me with the only option of sneaking in and getting the ore myself. The mines are too heavily guarded for me to get in and out, but with another person or two, I think enough of a distraction can be caused for a sizable amount of Phrik to be gained."

Now my speeder was fast. Very fast about 450km/hour to be exact. And well. Lets say that it did not take long to reach the possible bar that this woman was at. I smiled as my helmet came to show the mapping of the area that I was less than a click out. Oh and did I rev the engine to go max speed over the planets surface.

With in the span of a minute or so, I reached the destination. While I was under the guise of "The Silver Wolf" and not of my true name, The Solver wolf was a Force Hound. only I used that term than its original counter part when the Rakatan empire was still around. I used it as a term that I searched for relics of Force signatures or anything of worthy note. hunting down Temples and leftover pieces that could come to a big gig of something from the old times. I pulled up the yellow and black hood over my songsteel helmet as I got off my bike. Smiling under the helm as I did so.

With a simple push of my hand, the door opened and inside I looked round to see people drinking and gambling. I was looking for this woman, and only time would tell if she could be found.

As she waited for an answer from the other woman, Reine watched what appeared to be a street punk on a fancy speeder trying to dress like a Jedi or Sith go into the bar she was standing outside of. She looked at the woman before her and jabbed a thumb at the man, now inside the bar.

"You know him?" she asked, assuming he was looking for either of the women.

I looked at the other woman. My stomach ached again. How long had it been since I had eaten last? Two days? Three? I would fight them all if it meant a meal and warm bed.

"I'm in." I told her with out hesitation. Then a speeder jockey came up and went straight into the tavern.

"Never seen him before." I replied.

I looked around for any woman. And well, I had never met this person before. Cut me some slack when I am looking for an unknown person.

All that the people in here were Grungy men, and well. Maybe a few notable women that I would just rather not remember because of the lack of clothes they chose to wear. And well, all of then did not look very nice.

I looked around and walked out, preferring not to be in there anymore than I could be. I returned to my bike, and looked through the Mapping system for where I was supposed to meet. While I was waiting for the damned thing to load, I decided to look up.

Seeing two women, Clearly looking at me, I shook my head, "What you looking for ladies?"

[member="Jiana Korr"], [member="Reine Bisset"]

"Nothing you have to offer," she snapped before she could answer the other woman. She was used to men soliciting her and was quick to slap them and their one liners down hard.

She bit back another jab before she caught something. The Force. She could feel his attunement to it. That meant he was here for a reason, not just randomly. On a hunch, Reine figured she'd give that reason a stab.

"You looking for work?" she asked, her arms crossed over her chest.

I just watched as the Mrs. Johnson talked to spike. I knew I could handle a distraction just fine with out his help and probably get paid more too, but my stomach was empty and him getting shot at increased my chances pretty by a fair amount. I looked between the two and crossed my arms. My stomach growled and I looked away and pretended it wasn't me. By now she would be on her way to casing the mines for the rare material.

'I hope we get this over with soon,' I thought to myself as the force began to ripple in my senses. Maybe there would be more than just phrik involved on this job.

Looking to the woman as she clearly did not want me there, She was thinking about attacking me. But something stopped her. Reconsidering her reactions, I knew that this was a woman that was Independent, and if I even as close to dissing her, She would Frack my Poodoo up! And well, I kind of liked that. Just to be honest, I walked towards the two women. Clearly seeing that they may be a little agitated.

"You are the Lady that is looking for Phrik I presume?" I looked them both over again seeing how both of them looked to be ready any second, "I happen to be looking for the same."

[member="Jiana Korr"], [member="Reine Bisset"],

"Then your replied to my job offer, then," she stated with a shrug. "We'll be hitting the mines in an hour. I suggest you two get ready. I doubt a handful of miners will be much of an issue for us to sneak past, but you never know. I have a tab here, so help yourself."

With that, she headed into the tavern. She'd grab a meal, a drink, and get ready herself. In an hour, they'd be ready, or so she hoped. The tab she'd set up was enough for a meal each and that much only. There was no need for anything more.

I wasted no time in accepting the invitation of getting something to eat. I sat for no more than a few minutes as my plate was brought out. Bantha steak and vegitables was a welcomed treat when I usually had either dehydrated star port food or nothing at all. I ate everything and drank three cups of tea before I was finally finished. My eyes had not been that much bigger than my appetite this time and I got up to meet the woman who had hired me.

I checked my chrono, my weapons and my tools. It wouldn't take much to get in and out of the facility with what we needed. Maybe this job would pay enough for me to make it to the next one...for once.

"Ready when you are Boss." I said as I stuffed my small hands into my pockets.

"Good," Reine stated bluntly. She jerked a thumb out the door for the other woman and then stepped out herself. She'd lost track of the Sith/Jedi wannabe and, honestly, didn't care. One less pair of hands made the job that much harder, but the profit that much sweeter. At least in her opinion.

"Mines are about a mile or two behind the tavern. We're going in on foot. I'd rather not kill anyone here, but if we have to, we have to. Just make it quick, clean, and silent. Understand?"

I had been asked to do far less savory things while on my own in the galaxy, nearly anything for a little food and some fuel to go from point A to point B. This was stealing some minerals from a mine hardly any reason to bat an eyelash. I nodded my understanding to the other woman, slipped on a pair of gloves to cover my prints and my hood to hide my hair and face. We moved quickly and quietly to find a good position to watch the guards on patrol and prepare to enter the mine.

"I'll loop the security system from that conduit." I told the woman as I pointed to a small durasteel box, "but it will have to be quick or the guards will see me for certain and I'll need a look out."

"No need. They won't come close," stated the Miralukan blandly.

Reine saw a pair of approaching guards a few hundred feet away. She focused her mind in the Force and felt for the two mens' presence therein. After a moment, she found them; two, dim flames in the Force. With a mental sneer, she probed their minds slightly. Searching. Looking. Seeking.

She slowly found it, and just in time. They were but a few score feet away when what she sought presented itself. With a bit more focus and a slight twist of their minds, the two guards stopped in their tracks. Their heads shot back and forth, their eyes wide and pupils dilated. One began gesticulating at the nearby foliage while the other dropped his weapon entirely. The two men jabbered back and forth nervously for a few moments before the other man cast down his blaster into the dirt. The two staggered back a few steps before bolting away, fear gripping their weak minds and hearts.

"You have some time now, but be quick," she commanded. "They will find their comrades who will come to investigate. We need to be gone before they arrive."

[member="Jiana Korr"]

She left the other woman to her devices now that the guards had been scared away and headed towards the mine. It wasn't far and the entrance was highly obvious making the task more than easy.

Once there, it was a simple matter to bypass the few guards there. A few had realized their comrades had yet to return or respond to comm calls and had ventured out in search. The rest stayed on alert, figuring that the missing guards were either taking their time or were having comm issues. So few people bothered to steal or attack the mines here that it hardly occured to them that such a thing was more serious than it appeared.

She kept to the shadows and hid herself in the darkness there. The path forward was tricky, but not impossible. It merely required a cautious awareness and creative problem solving. With her Force Sight and her natural athleticness, coupled with the Force, she determined the obstacle to be of minimal detriment.

With this in mind, she started forward. She had spent far too much time waiting for others at the tavern earlier...

She slipped and stealthed her way to the mine's entrance, her body flowing from shadow to shadow with relative ease. The guards remained oblivious and simply stood and chatted among each other. Occasionally, one or two would pull a tabac stick from their pockets and enjoy a smoke break. For Reine, this meant they were completely unaware and, therefore, easier to slip past unnoticed.

The Miralukan slid over the top of a repulsortruck and landed in a crouch on the ground. Almost within arm's reach was the mine's entrance, but there were guards nearby. With the lights focused nearby, she couldn't risk sliding over the last obstacle, a twin stack of boxes and crates, meaning she had to figure out another way.

A cursory glance revealed she couldn't go around them half because one side was backed by a wall, half because the opposite side was bathed in light. Looking further, though, revealed a narrow, twisting gap in between the two piles of junk. It was just wide enough for someone to slip through sideways, but only just. She spared a moment or two to look further, attempting to find another route, but it seemed this was the only path not blocked off and not caught in the light. With a sigh, she adjusted her gear and slid into the gap, right hip first.
