Strengths
  • Heat / Fire Resistance - The outer shell and interior workings of the armor are comprised of materials and components that assist in mitigating or withstanding heat and fire. This allows the operator of the suit to march into a burning waste without so much as breaking a sweat or feeling like they're being cooked inside of their armor.
  • Power-Assisted Servos - Though not as heavy in comparison to the Phase II Hellplate; the armor is still difficult to move on its own without proper assistance. Thus a series of power-assisted servos were installed throughout the suit. These servos assist the operator in ensuring that the armor functions properly when on or off the field of battle; while also making it easier to move the heavy suit as needed.
  • Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System - When operating the primary weapon that is generally coupled with this armor - or in the smoky environments that can be created - it can become difficult to tell exactly where a friendly individual or the rest of your squad may be. This system utilizes the IFF Circuitry in the various suits of armor that the Hellknight's deploy to mark out friendly positions and avoid friendly-fire incidents.
  • Ablative Plating - A plating that offers increased protection capabilities against additional types of damage; particularly electrical-based weaponry such as Ion Blasts.
  • Fuel Canisters - These two large canisters are usually mounted on the back of the armor; providing the suit's primary weapon an additional fuel source. The canisters themselves can be removed for refueling or to be switched out with canisters containing a different mixture of fuel.
  • Thermal Gel - Existing in a layer between the outer armor of the Suit and the body-glove of the interior of the armor; this protective gel-like substance is commonly utilized to protect Cocoon Pods from the heat of reentry. Coupled with the additional layers of protection, this gel-like substance provides additional relief and resistance to the heat and fire that the armor is often operating around or in; keeping the operator within cooler and more comfortable.

Weaknesses
  • Continual Maintenance - When operating in environments and conditions that involve constant contact with heat, fire, soot, smoke, and ash, the suit tends to become gunked up; potentially causing the internal workings to become more rigid or damaged. To this end, the suit requires near-constant maintenance to keep its more delicate internal components from becoming damaged or filled with ash and soot.
  • Lightly Armored - The majority of the armor's plating is located on the front; leaving the rear to be less armored. Though not unarmored by any means, it is still easier to take out these suits and their operators if one were to be able to maneuver their way behind the suit and strike from the rear.
  • Combustible Tanks - Though the tanks are reinforced - to a point - they are still capable of being punctured with the proper weapon. In these instances, this would cause the tanks to ignite and eventually explode; killing the operator inside of the armor, and likely killing or maiming those around the exploding tanks.
  • Impaired Movement - Fine movements and dextrous maneuvers are all but impossible when wearing this armor.
  • Heavy - Like the Phase II Canoness Battle Armor and the Phase II Hellplate that came before; the Phase II Prometheus Heavy Armor should not be operated in those areas predominately consisting of geographical features such as Mud, Sand, Bogs, or other similar terrains. The armor can become trapped in these environmental terrains which would render the suit immobile and leave the operator a sitting target.
  • Thermal Gel - Though meant as an additional layer of protection - the Thermal Gel has a liability in how it reacts to physical impact. When struck, the gel-like substance tends to harden to protect that area from the damage of the impact. This however can cause problems if the suit were to be struck in multiple locations at the same time; effectively hardening the thermal gel layer. If this were to happen, the suit of armor would lock up, trapping the operator inside.

Description
Phase II Prometheus Heavy Armor carries on the legacy of its predecessor; with marked upgrades and advancements over the original series, the Phase II armor is still heavily focused upon those operators that are sent into areas in which high heat or flammable materials will be utilized - while these suits are often coupled with a Flamethrower as evident by the large, detachable fuel canisters that can be mounted on the back of the armor. While the fuel canisters are mounted to the rear of the suit, they are still somewhat exposed - and make for a tantalizing target. Were the canisters to be struck with a blaster bolt - or similar weapon with enough force and heat to puncture the canisters - this would result in an explosive reaction. In this instance, the operator of the armor would more than likely be killed, while those around the suit would have the potential of being grievously injured, maimed, or killed in the resulting explosion. Likewise, the majority of the suit's armor plating is focused on the front of the armor - however, this should not be taken to mean that the rear of the armor is unprotected. Rather, the armor plating is not as thick on the rear of the armor and were an individual capable of gaining access behind this suit, or to the rear of the enemy formation with these suits deployed, they would be more than capable of dispatching them with ease. The majority of the suit is produced using heat resistance materials or materials with a high melting point to provide additional protection against the heat and fires that they often are in contact with or producing due to their primary weapon.

A safety feature that is meant to assist the operator, is the addition of a Thermal Gel; with this gel-like substance existing in a layer resting between the outer shell of the armor and the interior body-glove. However, liability with this gel-like substance is its propensity to harden when struck. When impacted, the gel-like substance hardens to protect the contents that it is protecting - this however can cause a problem for an operator. If the suit were to be struck in multiple places at once, this would effectively harden the gel to a point that the suit would be rendered immobile, and the operator trapped inside - just as if its power-assisted servos were disabled or destroyed due to a concentrated, successive Ion attack or EMP Strike. Additionally, the armor is still rather heavy and often has trouble when operating in those environments that predominately consist of mud, sand, bogs, and other similar geographical features.

With all that said, the Phase II Prometheus armor truly shines in its primary role as close-fire support meant to assist in clearing out fortifications, trenches, buildings, and other similar hazards that are impeding the progress of an allied formation. Its heat and fire-resistant materials protect the operator when they deploy their primary weapon, that being a Flamethrower. And often at times, in those instances, the operators of this armor must heavily rely upon their Multi-Frequency Targeting and Acquisition System; though considered an old piece of technology - its usefulness cannot be downplayed given that the operators often find themselves in situations when little to no visibility. This system, in those cases, assists in locating friendly-formations or individuals and cuts down on friendly-fire incidents.
