SPECIAL FEATURES
STRENGTHS
  • Resistant to Jamming - Possessing a number of redundant sensor systems, the Spyglass is largely resistant to jamming attempts. The integrated data-brain module is capable of dynamically reading and filtering out information from jammed sensors, while also feeding data from sensors that are not affected by the jam to the pilot. In the unlikely event that all sensors are jammed, the data-brain is capable of translating information that it “sees” via the craft’s hull-mounted photoreceptor array to the pilot. In addition, the Spyglass's governing data-brain is capable of honing in on the distinctly large energy signatures created by jamming devices, while also filtering out false readings by verifying data with other sensors.
WEAKNESSES
  • Advanced Stealth Systems - Although able to detect craft through most conventional stealth systems, the Spyglass is unable to detect vessels with particularly advanced stealth systems and cloaking devices. (Read: Semi-Unique and ‌‌Unique Technologies)
  • Data-Brain Failure - The Spyglass depends almost entirely on a governing data-brain to read, filter, and feed information to the pilot. In the event that it fails (such as via a close-proximity EMP or similar ionizing effect), the sensors will be almost entirely unreadable to an organic pilot, due to the large quantities of information they receive.
DESCRIPTION
In the wake of the battle over Ryloth, the fledgling fleets of the Agents of Chaos learned a number of hard lessons regarding the complex realities of void warfare. One of these pertained to the sensor suites on the Armada’s fighters, which were jammed for almost the entire duration of the engagement. As such, the AoC fleet development departments set about developing a number of technologies to counter jamming, scrambling, and other forms of sensor disrupting technology. The Phase I “Spyglass” Sensor and Countermeasure Module is the first of these technologies. Intended to be utilized in the Armada’s fleet of small craft, the Spyglass is designed to counter sensor jamming technologies by fielding a large array of sensors, which are then filtered by a governing data-brain module. In essence, by utilizing a diverse, and often times, redundant suite of sensors, the data-brain can discriminate jammed or scrambled sensors, while also feeding data from other "clean" sensors to the pilot.

PRE-FACTORY TEMPLATE
Submission Name: Phase I "Spyglass" Sensor and Countermeasure Module
Link to Submission: https://www.starwarsrp.net/threads/phase-i-spyglass-sensor-and-countermeasure-module.139279/
Reason for Pre-Factory Request: To add a terrain-following sensor and maybe some other stuff.

Submission moved to pre-factory per OP request.

Please remember to include a list of changes when you tag a member of factory staff to move the submission to live judgement.
