The Sun Doesn't Burn - As the majority of those individuals that don these suits of armor are of the Vampirika Species; the armor itself is protected against UV radiation.

Emotionless and Genderless - The design of the armor is intended to provide an intimidating facade by removing an individuals ability to see the wearer's facial cues or gender. This provides a uniformed, united appearance among those units that march into battle with this armor.

Kinetic - Barring large caliber rounds, the armor is more than capable of withstanding a close, nearly point blank, strike from slugthrower weapons.

Lightsaber - Excluding a glancing blow off the shoulder, gauntlet or helmet, the armor is incapable of withstanding a full blow from one of these weapons.

Ion/EMP - The armor is not protected against such attacks, offering only limited means of mitigating the damage of Ion weaponry; while its limited electrical systems can be shut down or damaged from such an attack.

Go for the Legs - Unlike many other armors, the Phase I Sovereign Armor is more focused on providing protection to the vitals of the wearer and only offer limited protection to the legs beyond a pair of sturdy boots which include greaves.

Its natural to feel unsettled around those whose face you cannot see. Those that wear masks or cover themselves in facial paint can more easily hide their emotions and expressions from those watching them. Whats worst is when that individual speaks, and a low monotone voice rings in your ears, further hiding their emotional state - as something even as simple as the cracking of a voice to denote their own fear is hidden from you. Further; the individual appears genderless, removing any form of guidance that an established social norms might dictate how you would address them or otherwise act around them.

The Phase I Sovereign Armor is designed to appear unisex - however its faceplate and billowy armorweave fabric at its elbows and draping down in the form of a skirt - belie a more feminine appearance. When the helmet is worn and an individual speaks, their voice comes out as a simple monotone creation, showing neither the deep voice of a male or the higher pitch of a female - even if one were speaking in anger or shouting, the voice is unnerving. This design is twofold in its approach, the first being an attempt at intimidation to unsettle those that come face to face with the armor; whilst the second is to provide a sense of uniformed unity among those wearing this armor.

As it is designed by the Kaminoan Armorsmiths, the same that designed the Phase I and Phase II Clone Trooper Armor, the Sovereign armor shares many similarities as its predecessors in terms of features and capabilities. For instance, the armor is capable of being sealed and providing enough oxygen for its wearer to survive in the vacuum of space for up to twenty-minutes. Likewise, some aspects of its design draw from the armor worn by the Imperial Stormtroopers, such as IFF Circuitry and a Manual Suit Seal.

However, there are some aspects in which the armor is wanting - particularly when it comes to its capability of protecting the wearer. The design was more focused on the protection of the upper body, leaving much of the thighs exposed and unarmored. Its systems can also be easily disabled with a hit from an EMP blast, whilst an Ion weapon could potentially harm the individual - or at the very least disorient them. And at the end of the day, these aren't suits of Phrink, meaning that other than a glancing blow, a Lightsaber would have no problem slipping through the armor.

Its strengths however lie in its capability of withstanding punishment. While direct close range blows from a Blaster have the potential of tearing through the armor, it is more than capable of withstanding a glancing blow, or a direct hit from a bolt of lower yield - or one whose strength has greatly diminished over distance. Likewise, it would take an extremely close or otherwise point blank shot from a all but the highest caliber slugs to tear into the armor. Its primary strength however is that it is capable of blocking out UV Radiation - meaning that those species who suffer from an allergic reaction, are capable of operating during the day in this armor without fear - that is unless the armor is damaged in some way that would expose them to the sun.
