Additional Features

Strengths
  • Lightweight - Manufactured utilizing lightweight materials; the armor does not hinder an individual's natural dexterity or mobility when wearing the armor.
  • Debris & Shrapnel - The armor is designed specifically to deal with falling debris, shrapnel, and similar battlefield hazards that could often prove more deadly or injury-inducing than being fired upon by the enemy.
  • Weather Proofed - The Coarseweave material of the armor has been weatherproofed to handle a variety of environmental factors and weather conditions. Rain beads up and rolls off the material, while also allowing the material to be more resistant to the effects of heat and cold - such as those temperatures often experience on planets such as Geonosis or Rhen Var.
  • Sonic - The bulk of the armor consists of Rancor-Leather sitting between two pieces of Coraseweave fabric; this layered design offers greater protection against Sonic based attacks. This is due in part to the material providing a padded barrier to assist in mitigating the damage to the internal organs and dissipating the bulk of the Sonic blast.
  • Ion / EMP - The Ablative Plating of the breastplate, pauldrons, and helmet assist in protecting the circuitry within those sections of the armor; while also providing protection against additional types of damage, particularly, those that are electrical in nature.
  • Modularity - This armor shines in the simple fact of how easily it can be modified. From Emblems and Colors to denote a specific unit, to Terrain features and a soldier's personal touch. The armor is highly modifiable and often - other than in those units that keep to a strict regulation - no two units appear the same when wearing this armor.

Weaknesses
  • Lightsabers - Though containing Armorweave as part of its production; the armor itself offers little to no protection against lightsaber strikes - even those that are a mere glancing blow.
  • Lightweight - While this is useful in not hindering an individual's natural dexterity and movements; it offers little in the way of protecting against bludgeoning or blunt-force trauma. Such as those imparted by hammers, clubs, or similar heavy objects utilized as a weapon.
  • Limited Coverage - The majority of the armor is designed to protect the vital organs of a standard humanoid body. This means that the armor is center around the chest cavity and the head, leaving the majority of the body exposed.
  • Incapable of Being Sealed - Even though the armor has a proper helmet, the overall design of this lightweight armor does not allow for it to be properly sealed against biological or chemical attacks.
  • Radiation - This armor offers nothing in the way of protecting the individual from the effects experience during and after having been exposed to radiation.
  • One-Size Fits All - The armor is designed with standard humanoid body shape in mind. This means that species such as Humans, Twileks, Bothans, and similarly sized species would be capable of wearing this armor; species such as Wookies, Herglics, Quarrens, and other exotic or oversized species would be incapable of wearing this armor.

Description
Lightweight and durable; designed to protect against hazards of the battlefield such as shrapnel, concussive bursts, and explosions more so than against kinetic or energy-based weaponry. Whereas the Phase II Hellplate Armor is synonymous with the Hellknights, and the stark white Plastoid with the Stormtroopers - the Phase I Armiger Flak Armor is the iconic armor of those supplicants that seek to one day join the ranks of the Hellknight Chapters. Many of those that now don the heavy suits of Hellplate and Canoness Battle Armor owe their lives to the protection of this lightweight suit. Constructed with materials that do not interfere with or prevent an individual from maneuvering with ease, it focuses predominately on protecting vital organs rather than extremities, thus the reason for the armor being focused around the chest cavity and skull. Comprised of multiple parts - each piece has a specific function. The primary Chestpiece and Helmet are constructed of Durasteel, Plasteel, and Armorweave, providing flexible durability - the primary function of which, as mentioned, is to protect an individual from shrapnel and explosions. The uniform itself consists of a layer of Rancor-Leather layered between two pieces of Coraseweave; the padding of this design is what provides individuals protection against Sonic based weaponry and concussive forces.

However, the armor itself only protects so much in terms of what it covers and its primary use. As such, the armor, though containing Armorweave, is next to useless in stopping a lightsaber, even a glancing blow. Likewise, the armor isn't really designed with protection against Kinetic or Energy-based weapons in mind. While capable of handling small arms fire - such as small caliber rounds and low yield blaster bolts - it is otherwise incapable of protecting against large-caliber rounds and high yield blaster bolts beyond anything other than a glancing blow to the armor pieces. Even then, such a blow is more than enough to knock the wearer on their ass or knock them out if it struck their helmet. Where the armor predominately shines is in its versatility, as seen via its many iterations and designs across multiple units, its lightweight, and reliability.

The most glaring problem, however, is that the armor itself was designed with a standard humanoid body in mind; with species such as Humans, Twileks, Bothans, and similarly shaped species capable of wearing this armor with ease. The problem comes in when a larger species, such as a Wookie or Herglic, or a more unique species, such as a Quarren or Xexto would be incapable of utilizing the armor - requiring special alterations or a more unique set of armor be produced specifically for them on an individual by individual basis.
