Strengths:
  • Defense: Provided amazing protection to galaxy standard weapons like blasters, slugthrowers, and lightsabers
  • Advanced HUD: One of the most advanced features of Mandalorian armor, the HUD and helmet were equipped with a pineal eye sensor that allowed for near 360 degree target tracking of up to several dozen individual targets, included macrobinocular vision as well as various other types such as night, infrared, and heat among others.
  • Broadband Antenna: An antenna connected to the side of the helmet that could send signals to other Protectors, improved reception for coms, and interface with various personal ships.
  • Temperature Control and Filtration: Extreme temperatures mattered little for the environmental controls in the armor. The sealed suit also let them move and fight in the vacuum of space for extended periods of time and filtered out most toxins from gasses and atmospheres.
Weaknesses:
  • Lightsabers: Besides the chest and helmet, the rest of the armor is susceptible to lightsabers. Flexible joints were only guarded by blastproof leathers and could easily be cut as well.
  • Sonic: Almost no resistance to sonic weapons, hard or otherwise
  • Solar Ionization: The intense heat build-up from one of these weapons can eventually even melt through beskar
  • Stun Rounds: Like most armors, stun blasts do their job.
DESCRIPTION
Designed for use by the Mandalorian Protectors, the Phase 3 made use of a sleeker and less exposed design than typical Mandalorian armor. It had more in common with the armors of the Republic and Sith Empire and helped create a more uniform look for the Protectors. The uniformity was deemed necessary if the lawmen and women were to be treated seriously and not simply as a gang of mercenaries. Almost entirely black for Justice with blue stripes down the middle of the helmet and over the human heart for Reliability, the design invoked both fear and respect. Rank was displayed vertically down the blue stripe on the breastplate while other design choices such as Jaig Eyes and Clan or House insignia were placed in traditional locations on the armor.

While the armor was visually striking and imposing, it was the use of beskar that drew the eyes of most Mandalorians. Within Mandalorian society, criminality in their communities was usually low. However, the criminals that were active were often incredibly violent and deadly which necessitated extreme caution and made the Mandalorian Empire invest heavily in the survival of their Protectors. Beskar plates were used over the chest which protected vital organs such as the heart and lungs. A light and flexible beskar alloy was also used on the back plates which offered great protection from behind. Both the helmet and visor were also made of beskar alloys. The style of armor utilized less open space and instead opted to use flexible, yet durable materials like To Vhin leather in joints that unified the overlapped plates of Mandalorian Steel which left almost no gaps in coverage.

As far as systems in place, the Phase 3 armor utilized many of the same sensors and battle computer technology that Mandalorians used. Polarized viewports limited the effects of flash weapons, variable sight and vision modes allowed them to see in the dark or through smoke, and powerful battle computers aided in on-site investigations. Because the armor's main purpose was to protect law enforcement, it lacked Mandalorian Vambraces and instead opted for several small scanners, tools, holoprojectors, and non-lethal options such as a cable gun. The gauntlets also had a stun blaster equipped.

While heavier than most non-beskar Mandalorian armor, it was held in high regard by members of the Mandalorian Protectors. Provided by the Mandalorian Empire, the armor was often gifted to Protectors as an award for distinguished service which allowed them to make whatever modifications they wanted, save the colors. The armor would become a symbol of Mandalorian Justice throughout Mandalorian Space.
