- Composite Beam: Much of the escort's firepower is focused into a single prow mounted heavy composite beam known as a 'fusion lance'. While not a one shot one kill weapon it is capable of inflicting considerable punishment even on ships above its weight.
- Uukaablian Durability: Uukaablian deflector shields and reinforced bulkheads are superior to most comparable defensive systems.
- Prow Mount: Fusion Lance composite beams only have a sixty degree firing arc, much of the escort's damage potential is forward facing.
- Precision Fire: The Fusion Lance composite beam cannot target ships lower than 100 meters with any accuracy.
- Repair Time: The hollow, ovoid design of the Pharos-class makes it more difficult to transport materials from port to starboard or bow to stern.
- Sensor Bloom: The advanced shield generator to the ship's aft maintains a powerful blue glow. It has an uncloakable sensor imprint, and if the shields go down is a large and obvious target.
A mainstay of the Uukaablian Navy, Pharos heavy escorts are a common sight in trade convoys throughout the region. It is extremely durable for its size as is typical of vessels constructed by the reformed warrior species. These frigates represent both the exotic beauty of Uukaablian design and a grim reminder that they were once unrelenting conquerors who mastered the art of war thousands of years ago.
Sometimes sighted outside the Kathol Sector as part of combined Coalition flotillas or guarding long distance trade runs, the Pharos-class is often considered a welcome sight in its home region and the nearby Kathol Outback. Uukaablis is known for its benevolent and caring nature, unless you're a pirate or Imperial.
