SPECIAL FEATURES
With the onset of the Great Galactic War, and the death it brought with it, it was realized that the Sovereignty didn't just need soldiers.
It needed heroes.
The first and foremost product of the mysterious Project: IMMORTAL, the PHALANX-1 Series of armour was designed with the utmost care, time and effort. Multiple different branches of the Sovereignty's best scientific and designing minds were put onto the concept for the suit, and after discussions it was decided that the suit's functionality would come first, rather than ease of use.
The main intention of the armour is to stand out, to be an obvious target; and to make its user excessively hard to kill. More than anything, the users of this armour would draw fire and act as a protector, or at least are expected to. The PHALANX's development came to a halt however, when Sovereign Scientists couldn't get their hands on the materials needed.
Without materials, Project: IMMORTAL would grind to a halt. In response, a Deniable Ops mission was carried out, with AECO teams 'retrieving' a large stockpile of Neuranium for the project, though they were never told why or how it would be used.
With the production back on track, the PHALANX-1 was fully put into development. The more complicated systems were integrated, with an armourweave underlay beyond the Neuranium Plates, to give some backup and compensate for the gaps that had to be created to allow freedom of movement in the large suits.
As more talks went into discussing those soldiers who would be selected for the Project, their histories and their likely role within the Sovereignty's Army, it was decided that a form of temporary protection from any environmental or otherwise dangerous threats would be needed. It was through this that the Lockdown feature was theorized.
Lockdown would allow the user to activate a shield and lock up the joints of the armour, protecting themselves from serious harm while immobilizing themselves in the process. However, this only made the power drain on the armour more significant. As time went on, it was determined they would need more than just the armour's base power source to keep it going for extended periods.
Despite all this, PHALANX-1 was finally completed, and the fledgling project could finally get underway.

SPECIAL FEATURES
- Lockdown: A feature to up protectiveness, Lockdown allows the PHALANX to shunt its plating together and totally seal, protecting the user from Vacuum and other attacks. However, it entirely shuts down the ability of the user to move in the suit, and the Lockdown must be set on a timer before being activated.
- Powered: The PHALANX includes a powered hydraulic exoskeleton that significantly increases the strength and speed of the wearer using it. The exoskeleton contains its own independent backup power so as to prevent the user being immobilized in the case of an electronic pulse attack.
- Light-Shield: Designed as a close-quarters protection device, this light-shield is intended to protect against lightsabers and other melee weapons, appearing as a buckler-shaped shield on the wrist of the user when activated.
- Integrated Vibroknuckler: Melee weapons that are inserted into both gauntlets on the PHALANX, these vibroknucklers are dangerous damage dealers that aid a user in packing more of a stinging punch.
- Heads-up Display: The transparisteel visor of the PHALANX allows for quick tactical readouts along with an integrated IFF reader and short-range scanner.
- Personal Shield: The PHALANX comes with a Personal Shield that activates in the case of Lockdown activation, aiding in the defensive capabilities of the suit and survivability of its wearer.
- Enviro Filter: Included in order to protect a user in the case of a vacuum or dangerous environment, this filter provides an air supply to allow the user to breathe where they normally could not.
- Night Vision/Thermal Imaging: Integrated into the PHALANX's visor are differing vision options for both Night vision and Thermal Imaging, to prevent enemies obscuring themselves from the user.
- Blaster Resistance: Thanks to the thick Neuranium Plating and underlying armourweave, the PHALANX is highly resistant to blaster fire and hard to penetrate with plasma-based weaponry.
- Kinetic Resistance: Due to the hardness of the material used and the powered fram that aids in cushioning blows, users of the PHALANX are much more resistant to kinetic force than usual.
- Lightsaber Resistance: The Neuranium on display in the plating of this armour is very good at resisting a lightsaber, being a material that survives for several second with a lightsaber activated inside it - it would take a concentrated amount of energy from such a weapon to penetrate it.
- Lockdown: The suit's integrated Lockdown feature allows for maximum protection as it closes up the plating of the armour and activates its shield, albeit paralyzing the user inside entirely.
- Weighs a Ton: The PHALANX is an excessively heavy piece of equipment, thanks to all the integrated features and heavy metals used in its building - even with the frame, it takes great strength to properly use.
- Special Training: Due to the complicated systems involved as well as the way the powered frame itself works, a user of this suit needs to have had specific training before they can (realistically) use it effectively.
- Weakpoints: There are various areas on the PHALANX, mostly at the joints and neck where plates do not cover to allow more freedom of movement - however, these give nowhere near the actual protection of the rest of the armour.
- Power Hog: Thanks to the powered frame and integrated systems and shield, the PHALANX requires a lot of power to function, and it can drain regular power sources quite quickly, causing issues for long-term engagements.
- Painted Target: This armour makes no bones about how obvious it is. In fact, such a thing is intentional. The armour specifically makes the user a more obvious target with how it stands out and seems to threaten, even making a user seem taller than they are while wearing it.
- Paralysis: The Lockdown feature of the armour totally paralyzes the user when activated, and it must be set on a timer to activate ahead of time.
