The SK-MKI, or Personal Survival Kit is a medium to large sized (depending on the kit purchased) heavy duty cloth bag reinforced with bantha leather straps to make it sturdy. Inside contains a handful of items useful for an individual that would find themselves in a survival situation for five days. Each bag contains various items, including five days worth of ration bars, a water purification pump, thermal blanket, sleeping bag, and other survival items.
While initially meant to be produced and utilized in relief aid operations, the SK-MKI has found a small niche market as well. Often it is used for camping or hunting trips as much as it is used for relief aid. Likewise it can also be used by military units during survival training courses.

The Personal Survival Kit produced by Sorenn-Syrush Industries is known for its various additional "species kits". This means that the Survival Kit can be tailored to a specific species when purchased (though this list is still limited). Such modifications are minor in scope. A larger thermal blanket suitable for a Wookiee. Ration bars that meet the dietary needs of Torguta. Equipment smaller in size for a Toydarian. Etc, etc...

Weaknesses :
- Expiration: Many individuals believe that the Survival Kit is one that will last and last, however that is not true. Each survival kit lasts for a maximum of three years, at which time it is suggested that it be replaced if it has not been used (this is due to the ration bars nutritional value decreasing, regular wear and tear from storage, equipment malfunctions from being stored and unused, etc etc).
