Cody followed his master while taking in the atmosphere of the crew and droids moving about the ship with quicken pace. Never in his wildest dreams did Cody think a Jedi could have a ship crewed by hundreds under their control, ready to execute their very order on the spot. Cody could sense the motion of the ship turnabout angling itself away from the planet below and the surge of power being siphoned by the engines in preparation for a jump into hyperspace. As a child, Cody would find himself feeling ill whenever things like that occurred and never knew why no one else ever noticed it but as he grew up he acclimated to the sensations and discovered that others didn’t feel it like he did. Perhaps another talent he might be able to explore with his new Master but for now, he was simply following here about until they stopped at her quarters and he was commanded to remain there.
Was this what training to become a Jedi would be like Cody thought as he waited patiently, always dealing with the illusions, tricks, and orders. It was too early to make such rash assumptions but he hoped there would be more to this day then simply following the leader. A few more minutes passed before Master Ike reappeared in the doorway, but she wasn’t the same. No longer did a subservient handmaiden but rather a sleek armored long-haired warrior almost appearing as an assassin.
“Looks can be deceiving,” Cody stated as he once again beckoned the call of his master to follow her.
Cody wasn’t sure what he was in for but Master Ike had dressed for combat and he was still on his loss fitting clothing as he was expecting a leisurely afternoon tweaking his fighter not taking part in whatever she was planning on getting into. It didn’t take long for her intentions to become clear as the two found themselves in a sparring chamber with racks upon racks of weapons spanning from eras that Cody couldn’t even identify.
“Wow this room is insane,” excited by all the weaponry Cody rushed over to one side and began examining all the different weapons. “So when do I get the iconic lightsaber, can’t wait to learn how to bounce blaster fire around.” Cody smiled and continued his examination.
Cody was pretty proficient with a blaster pistol and knew his way around the rifle but he never really used a melee weapon except for maybe his fathers’ staff. None of his previous experience could prepare him for anything along most of the walls as he continued running his hand across ancient axes, bladed tridents, spears, daggers, and swords of various types. The last wall covered in a handful of blasters seemed like something he could get along with but it wasn’t much of a weapon for a Jedi he thought. Doubling back Cody found a pair of crossed silver, medium length vibroblades with intricately leather wrapped handles with small tassels at the end hanging just at head high, and for a second he imagined himself twirling the blades around deflecting strikes and swing them like he had been doing it for decades.
“Hmmm,” he made the sound as he turned back to his Master standing in the room with him. “I could get behind a set of these I think.” Cody smiled and waited for instruction from his Master.
