STRENGTHS
  • Semi-Stealth Capabilities: Through the employment of its ECM suite and a series of heat sink systems, the Lullaby can be rendered invisible to conventional sensors for relatively long periods of time.
  • Electronic Warfare: The foremost capability of the PDC-100 is of course its advanced network of ECM facilities.
  • Impressive Communications Facilities: A happy side effect of the Lullaby’s need to create a robust ECM network, the vessel possesses a suite of powerful long-range communications arrays.
WEAKNESSES
  • Semi-Stealth Capabilities: The Lullaby’s limited stealth suite is not powerful enough to block out most of the heat and radiation the ship expels while under thrust, and further does not cloak the frigate on a visual spectrum. These systems are best employed with the PDC-100’s weapons systems and impulse drives taken offline.
  • Shieldless: To make room for its countermeasure suites and other subsystems, the Lullaby is lacking in defensive shielding.
  • Sluggish: The Lullaby is not a particulary maneuverable vessel and cannot be expected to weave through fields of fire.
DESCRIPTION
A change from PhoenixDrive’s typical warship products, the PDC-100 Electronic Warfare Frigate represents a less bold, decidedly less combat-oriented vessel.

For a vessel of its size, the Lullaby presents a highly compact spaceframe that plays host to the elaborate suites of electronic warfare technologies that truly define the craft– among them being a network of jamming devices, an array of miniaturized chaff and probe launch chutes, and a series of concealed heat sinks. The latter subsystems most heavily facilitate the Lullaby’s semi-stealth capabilities, being meant to hide the heat emissions produced by the frigate’s various subsystems for limited durations of time before the build-up of energy must be radiated. Though not as effective as rarer and more advanced cloaking technologies, if put in the discretion of the right commander, these capabilities can be used to great effect– whether covertly deploying personnel and starfighters in range of a hostile installation, or running other such clandestine operations.

Of course, the Lullaby is traditionally meant to operate alongside a larger battlegroup, whether taking full advantage of its long-reaching jamming networks to obscure the movements of nearby friendly warships, or guarding against incoming ordnances via a robust set of flare and chaff launchers. Ideally, the frigates are never to be employed in direct combat (without surrounding vessels to draw fire), owing to their lack of shields and limited close-range offensive weaponry. If absolutely necessary, the PDC-100 is equipped with a complement of PhoenixDrive’s favored defensive armaments, 15 Ph-30 Point Defense Autocannons meant to intercept approaching fighters and guided munitions.

Though blunt in its outward appearance, the Lullaby follows faithfully in the nature of PhoenixDrive’s other wartime products; it is a weapon of finesse, meant explicitly to operate under the oversight of a careful and knowledgeable captain, an officer appreciative of the vessel’s unique strengths and weaknesses.
