Paying respects.

Armis made his way towards the cockpit of the ship. The pilot has informed him that he had a priority message from Bakura. Once Armis got there the pilot pulled up the message and a small hologram of his mother appeared on the screen. Armis took a breath..........he had not spoken to his mother or his father since he had left home.

The message was brief but somber. His father was ill and was not expected to live more than a few more days. His mother was asking him to return home so he could pay his respects. The entire time nobody said a word. it was a few moments before Armis spoke.

"Please make course for Bakura and inform her I will be returning home. Fastest route possible please."

With that Armis turned and made his towards the back of the ship to be alone and gather his thoughts. Even though his father was a Dark Jedi and as a result a practitioner of the dark side he and Armis had maintained a good relationship before Armis left home. The man had been his first Master and teacher as well as his father. He closed his eyes and sighed as he felt the ship change course.

Armis sat in silence the entire way to Bakura not saying a word until the ship began to touch down. Armis made his way to the ramp being met by the pilot when he got there.

"I need to gather supplies before we leave again."

Armis nodded to the pilot.

"There is a small station half a kilometer to the north east. It doesn't have much but I am sure you could get a decent price for what they do have."

Making his way out of the ship Armis himself got a speeder headed to the south west.........towards the small village where he had grown up and where his father lay gravely ill if still alive at all. Armis didn't say a lot on the trip to the village. Once he got there Armis paid the man and made his way towards the center of the village and the relatively small home he had grown up in as a child. As he walked a few of the villagers gave him a small nod their sadness visible of theirs faces. Known however spoke out loud.

Have heard from the starport that he arrived his mother met Armis at the door. She smiled softly giving him a big hug before pushing open the door and following him through the entrance. The elder Vindex lay on a small bed in the back corner smothered in blankets and looking more frail than Armis ever believed possible.

Armis moved up slowly to his father's bed side. He stopped briefly doing a quick bow before reaching down and grabbing his father's hand.

"I am here father."

Armis gave a quick squeeze to both let his father feel his presence at the bedside and to judge what response if any he received back. What he got in return was nothing more than a grown and an ever so slight curling of fingers back in return. Both of which let Armis know he had gotten there just in time to watch the elder Vindex die.

During slightly over his shoulder to where his mother stood his asked her.

"How long has he been sick?"

She told him awhile.................almost a year but that he had taken a turn for the worst about three weeks earlier. Armis sighed giving a slightly nod before turning back to the bed. Armis gave his father's hand another slight squeeze before gently placing it down on the bed. Armis stood and turned looking back at his mother.

"Has long does he have?"

She simply looked down at the floor telling Armis everything he needed to know.
