Pay-Day [HK+CarryGun+Moross]

HK-36

The Iron Lord Protector (Neutral Good)
Silken Asteroids,
Aboard the Star Destroyer the Dread Lord.

Finally, the last of the Horde's commanders were defeated on the bridge of the Dread Lord, his limp unconscious body hanging off of HK's hand, white lightsaber blade burning through the darkness. The droid dropped the knocked-out commander and leaned down to cuff him, another prisoner of war for the Siege Tower.
"Sir, we have secured the position, the bridge is ours."
The droid nodded,
"What of their Overlord?"
He asked simply, the Iron Knight with him shook his head,
"No trace, sir, he must have escaped with others."
HK nodded,
"Go figure."
He said softly, looking out from the bridge's viewport.

Turning about he commanded to his troops, deactivating his training lightsaber,
"Take the prisoners to our dropships, and gather the corpses in the hangar as well as our wounded, we have to take care of the dead."

He would look about at the troops gathered there, a mix of Iron Knight and Crusader troops, it seems that in the end the two groups, from hangar and the flanking team, made it to the bridge at the same time, resulting in a tie,
"[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]! Crusaders, where are you guys?! The battle is over no time to lazy about right now."
He said calling to [member="Kassandra Distorith"] and [member="Vascious Relens"] and anybody from their team as well, they should be all on the bridge, along with HK's squad of Greycloak Guards.

Anyway, he would sent a transmission to [member="Soliael Devin Talith"], [member="Zoey Marix"], and [member="Amorella Mae"] as well,
"The battle is over and the Horde is defeated, I wish to request meeting in the hangar that was battlefield, to discuss the price for the Iron Company's services, over."

[member="HK-36"], [member="Soliael Devin Talith"], [member="Amorella Mae"], [member="Zoey Marix"]

"I am getting paid as well. I did do most of the work. Not like the Vong put up much of a fight when we boarded," Siobhan quipped to the droid as she reached him. Her time with the Protectorate had ended when she stepped down as Exarch. These days she worked for Firemane and protected Kaeshana. She had, however, tagged along and hitched a raid with the Iron Company with HK since he was an old friend. In a sense the battle had been anticlimactic, given the lack of Horde resistance. Well, their Sith lord had created a star by unleashing a force supernova of sorts, then apparently a Moross God had eaten it.

Asteroids had been thrown, a bridge tower had been telekinetically crushed, there had been plenty of explosions and she had gotten the chance to make a door again. The large hole she had punched into the Star Destroyer would be clearly visible for anyone approaching the war vessel. Presumably it would take more than duct tape to close it. Alright, perhaps the battle had not been free of drama. Assuredly it would make good stuff for a holomovie. "Congratulations. The Horde forces are routed and the command ship is taken. I will likewise be in the hangar to discuss payment for my contributions," she transmitted over her comm link to the Moross leaders.

Soliael sat quietly in place aboard his ship, picking at his new metal skin. The Techno-virus had done some interesting things to his body, and in truth the metal skin was the least of his worries. It seemed to meld with him almost perfectly, acting as regular skin and not even having a seam between the two. It was very odd indeed, and he couldn't quite help touching and prodding it every few minutes.

Finally a servant found him, a message from the droid that had saved his life.

He frowned slightly, and then nodded to the servant in affirmation. They did most definitely deserve a reward. They had done much in the battle, and quite honestly Soliael would not have been alive without their aid.

“Invite them aboard the Freya, Inari and I will meet them in the hangar.” His voice was broken and dry, the result of hanging around in the vacuum of space with only a thin force bubble for protection. It would recover, much like the rest of him.

As he stood a darkness spun in his head, a remainder of the infection that had been the Dark Star he consumed in battle. Slowly Soliael shook his head, dispelling the thoughts of murder and carnage, heading instead towards the hangar, where he would greet his saviors.
[member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] [member="HK-36"] [member="Amorella Mae"]

With word of the battle coming to a close, Inari left Zoey in the knowledgable hands of her Healers in the Medical Bay of the Freya. The Reviver had worked quickly to do what she could for the Bishop of Manpha, what remained was left to those of less mystical means. A blood transfusion, for starters, was of utmost importance. Marix had lost far too much blood and would likely be of little use to anyone until such a time that she had recuperated.

How long said recuperation took was anyone's guess.

The battlefield clearing of enemy fighters as the last of the Horde numbers fled behind their leader, The Freya crept out from behind the cover of what remained of the Sith Emperor's Star Destroyer. A greater shield there had never been. Slipping through debris and detritus, it passed along through the asteroid field without incident and skirted along the perimeter of the last few picket battles, covered by the fresh contingent of Moross fighters. There it settled nearby The Dredd, issuing the return reply to [member="HK-36"] and [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"]

Moross leaders would meet with them within the hangar bay of the Freya - a far more stable and safe meeting ground for everyone involved.

Inari moved swiftly with her retinue of White Cloaks traveling always on her heels. It wasn't a long walk from the infirmary to the hangar, but with the amount of soldiers and wounded now crammed aboard it made her journey a bit more difficult. When finally she arrived, Inari immediately sought out her brother.

"Neth," she spoke gently, looking upon the man with deep concern, though beyond that she expressed nothing more. Affection and worry must be saved for behind closed doors - here, they were Gods, and they could not afford to lose face.

HK nodded as he received answer from the Moross forces, he would look over to his friend-in-arms, [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"],
"They want to meet us on their grounds, hangar of Freya, do you trust these Gods, Siobhan?"
HK asked towards her, motioning for one of the Iron Knight Captains, the soldier nodded, coming over and saluted, awaiting orders,
"Keep our soldiers posted on the bridge and Landing Zone, evacuate wounded, dead, and prisoners to the Siege Tower, but do not leave your posts unless on my order, understood?"
The soldier nodded simply,
"Yessir."

He looked over to Siobhan, motioning for her to follow with him out of the bridge by taking a turbolift down to the hangars, on his way down he opened up a transmission to his ship, the Siege Tower.
"Bring the ship by the Dread Lord carrier, keep her there unless I shall order otherwise, makes things easier to get all the wounded and prisoners on-board."
"Yessir."
The familiar voice of his Yeoman responded.

As they got to the hangars, HK would come with Siobhan aboard one of the dropships already prepared, motioning to his four Greycloak guards to join them as well.
The six of them would hop aboard the ship as the loading ramp closed and the vessel would push itself off of the ground to sail towards the Freya.

He would transmit over to the Moross Leaders,
"We are on our way, we shall arrive shortly."

[member="HK-36"], [member="Amorella Mae"], [member="Soliael Devin Talith"]

"I trust preciously few people these days, old friend. But I trust them to be smart. It would be more of a demonstration of their omnipotence if they smote us outside their turf. Besides, I am a Chaos Goddess...according to a cult of omnicidal loons I apparently didn't wipe out as thoroughly as I thought. And you're the Witch King and saved their God. So let's go," Siobhan said in response to HK's query.

Trust was a precious commodity and these days she gave it to very few people, though she doubted the false gods were requesting they come to the Freya just so that they could spring a trap on them. It would seem...remarkably cheap and besides, one would expect at least a token effort to convert them to the 'true faith' by giving them the good book and saying what pleasures awaited them in the afterlife before launching an auto da fe against the unbelievers.

So with these thoughts out of the way Siobhan would follow HK away from the bridge and down the turbolift where they embarked upon a dropship, soon setting sail for the Freya where they would meet the Aesir. The exertion of the past hours was clearly written over Siobhan's features, though she tried to hide it and to walk straight and proud despite the apparently permanent limp that irked her so much. She could use the Force to walk normally - vain undoubtedly, but then she was very prideful - but with her energies exhausted by the efforts made during the battle that was not an option. Heartbeat was faster than she would like to admit and as the transport traversed through the dark void of space, which was filled with the detritus of the space battle, she leaned rather strongly on the bulkhead. She took the helmet that covered her face off, breathing freely, long dark brown hair that was normally worn freely tied back so that it would not get in the way. The powerful beskar'gam armour felt heavy on her shoulders, though she tried not to let it show.

She could use a fething drink soon. Some pampering by Eldorai servant girls catering to her every whim would not go amiss either. Unfortunately, HK got cross when she took one of his female ensigns to her quarters aboard the Siege Tower. She was not entirely sure why since she was only broadening their horizons and telling them about their heroic deeds!

Soliael sat waiting in the hangar bay on a small cargo container when Amorella arrived. He did not greet her, being too tired to do much of anything. He watched the people in the Hangar for a time, sitting still as the doors of the hangar dipped open and a massive shield appeared to keep the hangar deck air tight.

He watched the transport dip onto the Hangar decks floor, landing with a loud clunk.

The False god frowned slightly, looking around the room. He waved to one of the servants there and spoke onto his ear, hushed whispers. The man nodded, and then walked over to a group of nearby Crusaders who had been chatting. They in turn listened to the man and quickly spread out among the rest of the people within the hangar.

Soon the massive space became completely devoid of life except for the two gods and those within the transport.

He did not stand when the transports ramp fell down onto the hangar deck, he feared that such a thing would prove to be too much effort. The darkness swirled in the back of his mind, biting and gnawing at him, it had grown worse in the wait for their maybe allies to arrive.

Aboard dropship heading towards Freya

HK nodded slightly at Siobhan's little pep talk,
"We should start a support group for deities."
He quipped to her, glancing to the Colonel he could see she was weary, the way she leaned on the bulk of the ship gave it away. He reached to touch her hand softly with his metal digits, a sign to get her attention and reassure her somehow.
"You will be alright."
He stated simply, he wasn't asking if she was fine, he just told her simply he trusted her abilities. He knew she was strong, she would be able to fight back against the weariness of battle, and darkness in her mind.

Aboard the Freya

The dropship HK and Sio took as their transport landed on the hangar's floor with a soft clank, and then a hiss was heard as the ramp leading into the ship opened. From inside came first the four armored figures of the Greycloak guards, droids wearing additional armor of the Protectorate, their faceplates hidden behind their mask-helmets, their grey cloaks cascading off of their shoulders. The Grey cloaks took their position, two on one side of the ramp, two on the other, before the figures of Ever-Colonel Kerrigan and the commended droid Baron Observer of Abregado appeared as well, their armors stained with dried blood of the Horde and Vong soldiers, scorched blaster marks adorning their chestpieces.
They were both warriors, ironically enough it was the ex-Assassin Droid that was closer to the light out of the two, grieving for enemies he killed, even saddened by demise of the Horde and Vong soldiers, beings who currently had in their minds only destruction and slaughter of millions.

Either way, HK simple nodded towards Soliael as he stepped off of the ramp, introducing himself,
"First Baron Observer of the Protectorate, Colonel Iron Knight of the Iron Company."

[member="HK-36"], [member="Soliael Devin Talith"], [member="Amorella Mae"]

There was a time when Siobhan had felt some measure of remorse for killing. However, never for savage beings like the Vong and Horde warriors, who were no different than Reavers in her eyes. Except that the Bando Gora Reavers had put up a lot more than a fight. Nor had she ever shown mercy to Sith. After all, she had originally joined the Jedi Order with the clear intent of fighting them. Having never been able to adapt to the Jedi way of life and believe in their code, which preached peace and harmony although time and again the Jedi seemed to find themselves in the role of soldiers, she had never looked after leaving the order, her only real tie to having been destroyed when Adril died.

If you want peace, prepare for war. She had long stopped feeling remorse when she took lives. Even mourning those soldiers under her command who died on the field of battle, got sacrificed and lost their lives due to her decisions, came...difficult for her, the result of a process of prolonged numbing. But then she was Butcher Kerrigan and war was hell, a cruelty that could not be refined. Even though she sometimes enjoyed and revelled in the carnage all around her more than she should, something she knew on a certain level.

Regardless here they stood now and she walked down the landing ramp alongside HK as they faced Soliael, one of the Moross Aesir, as she had heard. Despite the limp and the fact that she felt exhausted, drained by the power she had expended in the battle, she stood tall and proud, head held high. "Siobhan Kerrigan, former Exarch of the Protectorate. Vice President of Firemane Industries. A pleasure to meet you. Congratulations on Moross' victory," she nodded curtly.

OOC - Sorry for the wait. <3

IC -

It took every ounce of her emotional resolve not to reach out towards Soliael when he failed to say anything at all. Concern was a beast that was difficult for her to wrangle, but with a tight-throated swallow and a forcibly calming breath, she tore her attention from the man and gave it wholly to the emerging forms of their would-be allies.

Sol did not speak, at least not in an immediate sense, and the man was likely in no state of health to be doing so. Inari took a step forward. She did not smile, but there was a certain hint of deep appreciation within her gaze, even if it was hidden behind her half-mask.

"Honored friends, we thank you for your aid and cooperation in this endeavor. It seems the Asteroids and it's people, the Val'Kar, will no longer need fear the destruction brought by the Horde. Your efforts will give rise to stories for ages to come within the Crusade - naturally, legacy is rarely the going price in this galaxy, powerful as it may be. Please, speak openly, what is it you seek for payment?"

HK nodded simply to Amorella at her words, giving her a slightly bow, he glanced softly to Sol, briefly,
"To stop the expansion of the Horde and push them back into Shadows is in interest of all Free People of the Galaxy. Their ways are those of mindless slaughter and destruction with no reason behind it, however, even they deserve a proper burial after death in battle. And while we are not allies, nor is our friendship set in stone and metal, me and my soldiers will aid you if you plan to continue your Campaign against the Horde, or should they counter-attack your territories. Perhaps one day you will be able to return the favor."
He looked towards Sio then,
"As to payment, I cannot speak for Colonel Kerrigan, she will negotiate for herself, but for the involvement of my ship, my troops, the blood they shed to liberate this territory, I want a ship."
The droid turned to look outside of the hangar, at the large silhouette of the Dread Lord Carrier, the ship they have just fought for, the hole in its side, from when Kerrigan punched a way for their flanking maneuver, was still visible. HK pointed at the vessel.
"That ship, the Dread Lord. I will take it and repair it, rename it into the Dancing Queen, it shall be the new home for my troops and one of the Protectorate flagships."
He would look back to them,
"And for the involvement of my stealth ship and sending it into enemy fire in order to save your Commanders' life."
HK glanced to Sol,
"I want to set up a phrik trading deal with Ghostgate, I do know the metal is there, I have been visiting these planets in ages long passed. I need small shipments of it, but at regular intervals, I am willing to pay for it in return, either with credits or supplies manufactured by Abregado. I assume the rates will be lowered due to my aid on battlefield?"
He glanced back to Amo, checking what their reaction was to the demands the droid made.

[member="HK-36"], [member="Amorella Mae"], [member="Soliael Devin Talith"]

Since HK had given the speech about how the Horde was menace of mindless marauders - the latter was true, though Siobhan doubted they were much of a threat after the poor display during the battle - she was quite comfortable with getting to the point and not making a similar declaration. Personally it seemed to her that tactically the most sensible move for the Moross Crusade would be to push their expansion further and annihilate the Horde while they were reeling from their defeat. There was no need to give them a reprieve and time to regroup...and actually become a serious threat.

She did give Amorella - she recognised the face from her briefing as being one of those the Moross followers considered a Goddess - a short bow out of politeness. If she was still Exarch she might consider a more long-term agreement with them. After all, she knew they were allied with Fringe, though as far as she knew Moross had stayed out of the battle of Eriadu. Something to keep them neutral in case war broke out again would be useful. Helping an expansionist theocracy of religious zealots wipe out a horde of Vong barbarians did not sound arduous. Who knew, maybe the CIS would turn unfriendly, especially since from what she had heard the Protectorate had taken in an army of deserters. But she was no longer Exarch. That also meant that some of her fantasies of redrawing the map to establish the benevolent reign of the Omega Empire would not come to fruition.

"It was a pleasure helping drive the Horde out. I've seen the wasteland they created on Aurum for no other reason than their enjoyment. If the Moross Crusade continues its campaign to destroy the Horde, Firemane Industries would be interested in further contracts to aid in this endeavour. As for the payment we'd like, for our services we would be interested in a sizeable delivery of phrik," the former Exarch responded smoothly.

((OOC: enough phrik for 2-3 tech subs))

Amore did her best to conceal a smile that begged to draw her lips. The Dancing Queen? What a curiously insulting fate for the Horde's once flagship.

"Our plans for the remainder of the Horde fleet were deconstruction, so that they might never again be used against us, but instead fund our own fleet construction. However, with the possibility of a ... business arrangement in the terms, I would gladly see that husk transformed. It is yours to take, Colonel. As for a trading agreement with Demonsgate, I would be willing to open a long-term arrangement with you, starting with a 15% discount on shipments as per standing market value, or a fixed price rate for one year, terms renegotiable at the end of the contract year. Whichever you prefer."

The metal was indeed there. Moross had successfully opened a new mine and were currently reaping the benefits of the bounty, though they had little use for it other than bargaining chips, which, she supposed, was certainly useful enough.

Inari looked to [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"] and nodded, "How much is a sizable delivery, Colonel Kerrigan?"

[member="HK-36"]

[member="Amorella Mae"], [member="HK-36"]

This writer admits the inprecision of the OOC note in their post. Admittedly they are sort of out of their depth when it comes to actually defining how many kilograms of phrik they need, but then there is handwavium for that. Basically they were envisioning sufficient phrik for a suit of personal armour and perhaps some phrik to use for a limited production item that could be put up for sale, like perhaps a sword. Nothing as complex as using phrik for the hull of a battleship though!

"My apologies for not specifying. I believe this should answer your question," Siobhan responded smoothly and stretched out her hand to pass over a datapad towards Amorella Mae. As for naming the requisitioned Horde flagship the Dancing Queen, Siobhan had to agree that was hilarious!

Amorella's writer admittedly got a chuckle at all the blustering.

Inari looked over the datapad, compiling the specificiations in her head. No one knew that she was a closet nerd with an eidetic memory. Now she knew Kerrigan's measurements and made a mental note to send the woman a dressy sort of gift some day. Perhaps next time she stopped by OP territory under her Kuatian Princess face.

"That is certainly agreeable for the Woman Who Slings Asteroids and Breaks Ships in the name of peace..." there, a droll smile, genuine to a fault. The Aesir nodded, "I invite you and yours back to our Capital, that we may take a measure of time to celebrate? A small sojourn does wonders to restore one's energy. Perhaps, then, we can also speak briefly on the possible arrangement of an audience with your Revered Lord Protector." The latter was spoken with a glance to [member="HK-36"]

HK nodded simply at Amo's answer,
"That sounds acceptable."
He retorted, looking back to the Super-Carrier, it would take a bit of work but they will get it functional once more, and the amount of phrik they needed wasn't as big as to ruin them financially for purchasing it.
He would look back to the two ladies as they spoke to each other now, Sio negotiating for herself. What she needed phrik he did not knew, probably a warhammer or something like that, sounds like something she would invest her resources into.

"Perhaps sometime later, today the Company's celebration will restrict to burials of our fallen comrades and the fallen enemies alike, they have died fighting us, on the same battlefield. They deserve as much respect in their death as our soldiers."
HK spoke to Amo at her invitation, sharing his queer looks on the fallen a bit,
"Besides, we need to get that ship patched up enough to be moved and enroute to Abregado-Rae, you never know when the next battle will be, perhaps tomorrow, I would like it functional as soon as I can."
He added, looking over his shoulder slightly once more, he did not wanted the ship to stay in Moross territory for too long. He did not trust them just yet, besides, there was a whole armory of Horde and Vong toys aboard he wanted to confiscated and reverse-engineer.
"As to the Protector, Lord Hatter can make his own appointments, I do not speak for him, nor can I make promises on behalf of the whole Protectorate, I merely represent one planet, a piece of the whole."
He informed Amo

[member="HK-36"], [member="Amorella Mae"]

Incidentally the writer of [member="Eyrecae Alzari"] just suggested using phrik for a warhammer!

For her part Siobhan did not believe that the dead Horde warriors deserved a proper burial. As far as she was concerned they had gone beyond the pale when they slaughtered the population of Aurum for no reason other than their sadistic enjoyment, so they were not to be treated as soldiers on the other side who deserved respect but as savages. Simply unceremoniously venting them into the vacuum of space should suffice. But she did not mention that. After all, it was HK's ship and company, she would not interfere with how he ran his unit, especially since she had stopped being his superior a long time ago. She just would feel no sympathy for their dead enemies.

"I thank you for your invitation and for my part accept. I shall have to inform my wife, former Lady Protector [member="Tegaea Alcori"], first, though. Unfortunately, I'm afraid engagements on Kaeshana will probably keep her and Her Majesty Star Queen Tirathana VII. away from the celebrations, but I shall attend on their behalf. Firemane and the Eldorai would appreciate an enduring and friendly relationship," she said politely. The Queen in question was known to her friends as Anya, a dear friend of Tegaea and Siobhan, who now ruled over the elves.

Siobhan referred to Tegaea as 'former Lady Protector' with deliberate emphasis. Was she being a bit petty and vain? Perhaps, but then she was a proud woman and had the impression her wife did not receive enough credit for all the work she had done for Omega as second in command and then leader. After all, they had conquered most of its territory. These days she had little contact with the Protectorate aside from with her friend HK. Or when she popped up in skirmishes on their side because she felt like it. Her opinion of its leadership tended to be rather...scathing, but being the guardian of Kaeshana and the Eldorai people fulfilled her.

She did not wholly trust Moross, but their leaders had been pleasant and she was intrigued enough to accept the offer. Moreover, well, she was the Chaos Goddess! Yes, it was definitely vanity talking.

Inari nodded to the pair, though by all means the Crusade had planned on burning anything left of the Horde, bodies and all. Anything left behind would end up food for the local exogorth of the Asteroids. He wasn't choosey.

"As you will, Colonel, our forces will be out in full to clean up. They will be informed of your payment and you will not be bothered," she said in return to [member="HK-36"] before turning her attention to [member="Siobhan Kerrigan"], a somber smile forming on her lips. The young woman behind the facade of the Aesir had to make an effort to contain her enthusiasm, and reminded herself of the persistent simmering of rage that was Soliael behind her.

Best to finish this meeting up succinctly.

"You're all most welcome and I would very much like to speak further on Firemane and, what did you call them? ...the Eldorai?" Inari nodded again, intrigued by this race she'd never yet heard of, "at your leisure, of course." She handed the datapad back to Sio, "if there is nothing more you would like to discuss, Colonels?"

There was much work to be done and so many wounded to oversee the healing of. Inari's smile faded somewhat, a fleeting sense of worry over what sort of irrepairable damage Soliael had taken.

HK just nodded as the two ladies exchanged words and pleasantries,
"We have a saying on a lost planet populated by my brethren,"
The droid began, turning to look right at Siobhan,
"'Keep it in your pants, Kerrigan'"
He quipped rather bluntly before looking to Amorella once more,
"And 'the Ropos ropo when Ropo ropos Ropo.'"
He gave her a nod then, considering them both self-explanatory,
"Ladies."
HK said, giving nod to sitting Soliael as well,
"Lord."
He would look to Amorella, seeing she was the one doing most of the talking,
"I will contact you when I am ready to set up our phrik trade, feel free to call upon me in another battle against the Horde. May the Force be with you."
With that he gave them all a soft bow, turning to join his guards aboard the Iron Company dropship. Sio, supposedly, was going to travel with Moross and join their celebration for the rest of the day.

[member="Amorella Mae"], [member="HK-36"]

Joining the Moross celebrations after having righteously smote the Horde, nothing could possibly go wrong! Well, not so righteously in Siobhan's case, though her writer has not made up their mind about her alignment yet. Would she have even brought something suitable to wear, since presumably she would not be showing up in her beskar'gam? It shall be assumed so.

"I believe we can certainly discuss that. I would be glad to, Aesir," Siobhan responded warmly when Amorella expressed interest in hearing more of Firemane and the Eldorai. She felt like rolling her eyes at HK's good-natured quips, giving him a brief look as he turned away to join his guards aboard the dropship of the Iron Company, presumably to organise the burial of fallen comrades and foes alike and getting the ship ready. "Safe travelling, HK." Come to think of it, his departure reminded her that she would be missing tonight's two-part episode of Hammer of the Gods. When she gave a holocall home she would have to ask for it to be taped. It was becoming her favourite series right on top with Game of Stars after all.

The Dancing Queen. She had to suppress a smirk at the name, but seriously, Dread Lord was so cliche. Like something you expected a supervillain from a bad holovid to use. "Likewise I would be glad to hear more of the Moross Crusade. Especially since I have had not had any personal contact with it until now. Beyond what briefings passed my desk when I was Exarch." Of course, there was only one person Siobhan worshipped and that was a certain redhead, but it killed nothing to be polite, as much as she was capable of that. Ironically enough Kaeshana was an absolute theocratic monarchy, though under Anya's reign it was becoming slightly more...liberal. They did not burn heretics anymore.
