Chandrila was one of the jewels of the Core, probably the whole galaxy. But even a jewel had the possibility of flaws. Chandrila was not a perfect place, and the workers settlement in Emita was one of few blights on Chandrila's record. Oh, it was not Nar Shaddaa. It was not Corellia. But it was certainly not the heights of Chandrila either. The cleaning services seemed to be working over time. Droids being unable to keep up with the grime created by industrial works was common. There was just a single layer of grime that was absent everywhere else on the planet. It seemed though that the residents of the industrial sector went about with a quiet acceptance as to their role. It was typically Chandrilan.

Why was Emita the place of interested? Why had Brandyn and new offsider, one Silas Westgard Silas Westgard , been sent to a relatively small city? Most of the activity of The New Way had been happening around Hanna City after all. Ester Qui was the reason. A Jedi Service Corp member that had been working alongside the Order's detachment that was investigating New Way activity on Chandrila. She had missed a check in, and that was not something that happened. Ever. Not without follow up at least.

There was a certain degree of mundanity to the assignment. A missed check in could be nothing. Simple comms malfunction, or perhaps just a busy day. It was odd, sure, but Brandyn did not feel on edge as a result. Approaching the unremarkable looking building that Ester had been camping out at, some sort of observation post, Brandyn leaned against the wall and pressed the button to request access to the buildings corridor, and elevators.

"This shouldn't take too long," he said with a reassuring smile.

Crossing his arms, he gave a glance down the street. An odd feeling of being watched had washed over him, but he could not pick it as Force-based intuition. He shook it off with a shrug of his shoulders.

"So...where you from, Silas?" Small talk. Awkward small talk.

Why was she taking so long to answer the door? Brandyn pushed the button again and glanced back down the street. Was she away from her post?
