[Seo Linn]

In the few years since Seo had been granted her freedom, she had been forced to grow up. First, becoming a mother and then learning she could use the Force. Her mother and stepfather had taken to raising her son as their own, and Aodhan thought he was her sister. Eventually, he would learn the truth, but for now, it was kept from his young life.

Deciding for now to stay on Lorrd, she had started taking training from the Jedi of the Dominion. There were also Sith and even Mandalorians. Neither of them seemed to fit her as well as the Jedi. She also had a job at the Great Library and had work today.

Clocking in and setting up at one of the many information stands, she patiently waited for somebody to need help. Her blond hair shone in the dark confines, and her gold eyes glanced across the datapad in her hands. While she waited, she did her own research. Wanting to know a bit of everything, she looked up as somebody approached.

Setting the pad down, she made sure not to be distracted by the device.

The records and reports about the planet Lorrd having a Great Library might be of help in what Kas was looking for in the Force. An ability that is regarded a much strong variant of the one he has learned and practiced called Force Barrier. The ability he was seeking to learn, practice and study was known as Protection Bubble.

On his way toward the woman who was set-up by one of information stands. Hopefully she can help him find the information he has been seeking. Depends if he was at the right place or not.

Stopped in front of Seo Linn and adjusted, dusted his jumpsuit down with his hands. Cleared his throat and had a casual smile ln his before he would speak to the woman he spotted. On his approach Kas was able to feel and sense the Force coming from Seo it had him curious.

Was she a Jedi? He had never seen her before throughout his studying and training since joining the Jedi Order.

"Hello miss. I'm Kas Larsen a Padawan Learner under the tutelage of Jedi Master Katarine Ryiah and I was wondering if you could help me with some information I'm trying to find." Kas asked her.

Some details about Seo might make her unique to Kas. Lorrd was a desert world, and she wore clothing that suited its climate. Around her neck hung a veil that she could pull up over her nose and mouth when storms blew through. Stitched into her clothing were fine gold threads that hung loose on her body.

Listening to his request for information, she nodded, her face a mask of solemn silence. Stepping out of the cubby, she held a hand out to him.

"I'm Seo Linn and will do my best to help you. Follow me, please."

They seemed to be about the same age, and perhaps she could learn this skill as well.

"If we find what you are looking for, do you mind sharing the knowledge with me?"

After Kas introduced himself to Seo he was ready to begin his search in the Library and hope to discover the records of knowledge on the Force ability he was wanting to learn. Kas followed after Seo as she led the way. Noticed the attire Seo wore different from anyone else in the Jedi and able to sense the Force within her.

Kas extended his arm and hand out to gently, politely shake hands with Seo as she held out her own towards him. A bit of a firm grip but nothing to cause pain perhaps a slight shock or startle.

"Nice to meet you Ms Linn. Are you a Jedi as well?" Kas asked as this was their first meeting together.

The late teenage Padawan Learner followed along after Seo. Upon the looks and sounds of the young woman Kas figured they must be the same age as one another. Odd he hasn't met her before maybe different being brought to different Academies, Enclaves or Temples that'd explain things.

"If we do find it, sure. Hopefully we do heard it is quite a Force ability." Kas stated as they continue to walk.

"Yes, I am a Jedi."

She wasn't being unfriendly, but Seo was a woman of few words. Growing up, she had been a slave and learned to speak only when spoken to. To answer with the least amount of words to get the message across. On the inside of her right arm, he might notice a faded tattoo that indicated she had been a slave. It wasn't something she kept hidden or even seemed ashamed of. If he asked, she would answer, but she wasn't going to volunteer the information.

"What ability are you searching for, Kas Larsen?"

Keeping an eye on him out of the corner of her eye, the blonde walked through the shelves of books, scrolls, and other knowledge formats. Eventually, she stopped by a cabinet and unlocked it for them. Once she knew what he was looking for, she pulled a datacrystal off one of the shelves and handed it to him.

"Over here are the study rooms."

Pointing to a hallway, there were closed doors, and she opened one of them for the two of them to go into.

It was good to come across a fellow Jedi although Kas sensed something may have been slightly off with Seo. He didn't want to pry or step on anything that was perhaps personal for the young woman he met. Upon glancing around and Seo's body there Kas had noticed the tattoo marking on her right arm. It was faded but still bore inclinations of slavery. It left him with a frown upon his brows feeling sympathetic for Seo.

"It is good to come across a fellow Jedi. Hope you've been doing well Seo." Kas said to Seo changing the frown expression on his face to a neutral one. A brief smile did appear at the corner of his mouth.

When Seo had asked about the name of the Force ability he sought after. It left Kas thinking back as to why he was wanting to learn and study this ability. Simply put he wanted to protect not only himself but others around him. In his mind he wouldn't be a good Jedi if he lacked defensive Force abilities for others.

"Ah sorry. The ability I'm after it is called Protection Bubble. I'm unsure if you have came across it yourself Seo. I hope I can use it wisely and for good intentions." Kas had answer Seo's question as he followed her.

Kas watched Seo accessing and unlocking facilities within the Great Library going through various books and scrolls among what resources are available to the pair. He took the data crystal from her and followed.

"Thanks Seo. Let's see what we can find out." Kas said while the two Jedi went off to the study room Seo opened up for them to use. Thrilled to see what the data crystal contained Kas sat down ready to begin.

"Thank you, Kas. I'm doing better now than I was just a few years ago."

Keeping her motion close so only the two of them could see it, she pointed at her tattoo. It's numerical and faded, but still clear enough to be seen and read.

"I was a slave here. Once freed, I had a son, and we live with my mother and stepfather."

Seo didn't speak much for very long, but when she did, she kept nothing hidden. He might not be able to see any emotion cross her face, but through the Force, her thanks could be felt. Listening to his answer, she nodded.

"I have not come across that skill, but it sounds similar to a barrier that I am aware of. Can you use that one?"

It was considered a neutral ability, allowing any Force user to learn and use it. With his assurance that he would use it wisely, she shrugged. That didn't matter to the Jedi, but she was looking forward to learning this with him.

Opening the door and closing it behind them, she made sure to indicate it was in use. Taking a reader out of another cabinet, she set it on the table. Motioning to it, he held the crystal that went in.

"I'll listen to the introduction and the first lesson. Depending on how long that takes, I may need to leave for the day. Unless you want to take these with you, we can meet up again tomorrow to learn more."

There was no question in her tone, and she stated it matter-of-factly.

Kas turned his attention to where Seo had shown the tattoo on her arm and frowned his eyebrows when she explained the background behind the tattoo. He has seen similar markings back in his time as a CorSec officer on Corellia. Gently he reached out with his free arm and hand, covered up the faded tattoo.

"Sorry that you had to endure the life of a Slave. I've encountered Slavers back home. They got justice delivered to them. Still many worlds out there that have this problem." Kas sighed he hated slavery.

Able to sense the emotions and thoughts emitting from Seo was good to experience and witness. Kas removed his fingers and hand off Seo's arm that had been marked with a now faded tattoo. Held the data-crystal close.

"From what I have heard it is a stronger variant of a barrier, Seo. Yeah, I have learned and practiced the Force Barrier ability with my twin sister and younger brother since becoming a Jedi." Kas confirmed to Seo.

Not only did he regularly learn and practice aspects of a Jedi with his twin sister Kharis and young brother Caden. He sought out quite a few Jedi Knights and Masters to expand his expertise as a Jedi Sentinel too. It'd be good to learn and practice this ability with someone different than his siblings consistently.

Not that they weren't ideal but a change of pace and scenery for Kas was nice to have once in a while. He followed Seo into another room within the Great Library. Walked inside of it as Seo closed the door over. Kas went to the table and pulled up a chair to sit down with the data crystal brought out. Puts into the reader.

"Hmm. Well I'm not going anywhere any time soon. Welcomed to stay with me for as long as you can and I'll leave when you do Seo." Kas said to Seo as he waits for the data crystal to begin playing.

The reader was buzzing and whirling away as a Jedi Master from the past was acting as the Gatekeeper to instruct and share their knowledge of the Protection Bubble ability to both Kas and Seo.

Looking at his hand as it covered her tattoo. She didn't pull away or anything, but she felt the warmth of his touch. Looking at him, she nodded when he sighed. When he removed his hand, her arm grew chilled, and she considered pulling her sleeves down to warm back up. Deciding not to give him that information, she kept her sleeves up.

"Someday, slavery will be eradicated, but I just don't know how."

Somebody would always be there to prey on the weak. It would be up to people like her and Kas to try to free them.

"Good, then we won't need to learn that skill. I should practice it more. As the only person in my family who can use the Force, I don't get much opportunity to practice."

Shrugging slightly, it was pretty telling that she used her body language with him. Typically, that was something only done around family and close friends. Here he was a near stranger, and she was acting like a child who didn't know better.

"Where are you staying? You're not a native here. I'm sure my family would welcome you."

Watching as the reader turned on and started playing. The master inside introduced herself and provided an overview of the information on the crystal. Sitting to listen, she was paying attention to both the master and Kas.

Kas was in the same frame of mind about Slavery those imprisoned and forced to awful actions against their own will. Dedicated and determined to rid of the Galaxy from the Slave Trade he remembered his first case as a CorSec officer a rookie from the academy. A scenario where a Slaver gang had been dismantled on Corellia.

That situation was one that Kas, his sister Kharis had been glad to bring justice to. Freed a lot of unfortunate innocents from a Slaver that had an underground network for their works. He smiled briefly to Seo agreeing.

"It will be stopped, just a matter of rooting it all out." Kas said to Seo.

There will always be individuals who act like predators against those who end up forced into doing activities they dislike and cannot do anything to resist. Kas admired Seo's words against Slavery of any kind.

"Don't get much practice huh. Well, I wouldn't mind practicing and sparring with you to help. Got a routine with my twin sister, Kharis and younger brother Caden too." Kas said with a smile.

Respecting Seo in being open and friendly with since it is their first time meeting one another. It'd be good to have a study and training partner while Kas advances further in his Jedi studies and training.

"Huh. Staying? Well, I have a J-1 Shuttle that has plenty of room and supplies." Kas paused however where he'd get a grilling from Kharis if didn't start opening to gaining more friends. "The again if it is alright with you and your folks. I'm happy to join." Politely Kas was open to accept the offer from Seo.

Born on Panatha but only stayed there for a year or so then moved to Corellia. Grew as a Corellian native with his family it being the origins of where his mother, Elah, had came from.

"You're right. I'm not from around here. I was on Panatha and grew-up on Corellia before coming to the Jedi Order, Seo." Kas stated giving a little more background about himself.

His attention fell toward the Jedi Master in the data crystal that was ready to begin sharing information on the Force ability he was set to learn and practice with Seo. A faint smile appeared as he glanced between Seo and the master from the data crystal. There was a friendly atmosphere felt and it was nice to be in the quiet.

Giving him a partial smile, she sat down to listen to the lesson. Instead, the conversation continued for a little longer, and Seo was enjoying the instant connection she seemed to have with this fellow Jedi. Crossing her legs and looking at the projector and its image, she turned again to face Kas. Putting both of her feet on the floor, she leaned slightly closer to him.

"I'll take you up on that offer. Tonight after dinner, show me what you know. Your family is also welcome. No sense in keeping them on your shuttle.

"I was born here and have lived here my whole life, as good or as bad as it has been. After I was freed, I spent a few months off-world, but I had to return to my mom. This was before she had met my step-father or even knew I was pregnant."

Returning to a proper sitting position, she turned the lesson back on.

The gatekeeper had waited for them to return their attention to him. Once he had it, he started speaking.

"I am Master Tyla, and here I will teach you about the Force Barrier and Protection Bubble. If you are already familiar with either of them, you can skip to the course you want to learn. Where do you want to begin?"

Kas sat with Seo as the projector of Master Tyla appeared and took form to start their lesson in learning the Force ability called Protection Bubble. It was pleasant to engage with Seo in a discussion and progressed more about other topics on their minds. He got comfortable while seated with her and noticed Seo leaned over.

"Well as long as it isn't a bother on you or your folks, Seo. We're used to using our shuttle to rest or live out any trips we go on. I'll let Caden and Kharis know, thank you." Kas said to Seo.

He continued to listen as Seo was explaining more of her background and history in her earlier life. It sounded as if she had endured quite the childhood but there was light at the end of the tunnel thankfully. Kas allowed Seo to share her story with him but he wouldn't press heavily onto it. All to be polite and respectful.

"It seems and sounds like you have came out on the better end of what's been thrown at you, Seo. Good to hear and see you're progressing better in life." Kas gave Seo a reassured smile as he responds to her.

Once the two had finished conversing with each other, Kas gave his attention back over to the Datacron where the Gatekeeper appeared ready to begin their lesson with him. Sat on a chair and listened while Kas smiled over to Seo as it was nice to study and train with someone new in the Jedi Order.

"Well, I have learnt and continue to practice Force Barrier master. What about you Seo?"

"Nah, it won't be an issue. We share what we have here."

That was all the former slave said about them staying as guests. On the way home, she'd make sure to stop and pick up some additional food for them. Her pale skin warmed at his words, but she was silent in replying. Anything other than a simple thank you would be too much.

"Thank you."

Thinking back on the past five years, he wasn't wrong. With her working, she was bringing home enough money to take care of her mother and son. Turning her attention back to the Jedi Master who was waiting on her, she was quiet for a moment to give Kas the chance to answer first.

"I don't get much chance to practice, but I am quite familiar with the theory of the barrier."

With a bit of personality invested in the Master, he nodded and looked between the two students.

"Perhaps you will be able to practice this with each other. Onto the theory, then. This skill is related to the Force Barrier, but it covers a larger area and can even be placed around an enemy. It can protect you against lightsabers and other forms of attack. Offensively, it can be used to encircle your enemy, keeping their attacks contained.

"It takes a great deal of control and focus to maintain it, so be prepared for that."

He droned on a little more and then waited for any questions they might have.

It was rather nice to be offered and welcomed to spend the night or so with another family. Kas would make sure that he and his siblings wouldn't be an issue for Seo or her family that were kind enough to let them stay.

"Well like the master said. We can learn the theory and practice both the Barrier and the Bubble together while I'm here ahaha. What do you say Seo?" Kas a smile on his face briefly.

The attention and focus returned back to the Jedi Master acting as the Gatekeeper to the Datacron they were using to learn the information for the ability they sought to study. Hopefully this was a start to another friendship between the two as it seems they were getting along without any issues raised.

"I believe we're ready to begin master. Apologies." Kas said to the Gatekeeper and nodded his head over.

Kas sat there listening to the Jedi Master who was describing and explaining the theory of the Protection Bubble technique to him and Seo as they were keen to learn and use it. Sounded like a lot of focus, practice and train would be required from them in order to use the ability confidently.

"Huh so it can be defensive and offensive in a few ways. Interesting. What's the best way to prepare for using this ability master?" Kas asked the Gatekeeper while looking to Seo.

A smile formed at the corner of his mouth and for a brief period there seemed to have been a spark flickering. Unsure how or why but something drew Kas towards Seo in perhaps being closed friend but time will tell.

After all they had only met today it'd be rather foolish to rush matters. It was already quite enough that Seo was here with him and offered him, Caden and Kharis her family home to spend the night in while on Lorrd.

"That would be wonderful."

Her golden eyes lingered on Kas, maybe a moment longer than needed, before she turned them back to the Master. The smile was contagious, and she had one too without even noticing, which was entirely out of the ordinary with Seo. With their focus returned to the holocron, her smile remained.

Listening to the lesson, it was clear there were more uses than she had thought of.

"As you use it more, it'll require less Force on your part. If you are Padawans, then your reserves are likely relatively small. Meditate each day, connect with the Force whenever possible, and practice regularly. You will learn and grow in power and abilities.

"The best way is to practice and try to anticipate what your enemy might do. Figure out what their strengths and weaknesses are."

Seo leaned forward slightly and turned her head to look at Kas before making her statement.

"There are people on this world who might be willing to help us practice against them. I am a Jedi, but there are dark-aligned here as well. I could talk to them. Or we can just use it against each other. I'd like more as I don't think we would hurt one another on purpose."

Accidental was different, and the former slave understood that.

Kas nodded his head over to Seo when she replied to him as their attention turned back to the Master providing the information of Protection Bubble. The eyes and smile from Seo did catch Kas' attention quite a few times in between some pauses while listening to the Datacron's Gatekeeper projecting information out.

In receiving the theories in how Protection Bubble can be used for defensive and offensive methods this was building up ideas and pictures for Kas. On the field he will see after training what he can do with the ability.

"With this ability master. Are there precautions we should be aware of while we're learning and practicing it?" He asked the Master projecting in the Datacron the two Padawan Learners were using.

Kas turning his attention over to Seo as she made a statement about how they can practice Protection Bubble out in the field. The mentioning of other dark-aligned Force users being here that sounded odd. It left Kas thinking in how Seo knew and was able to approach, communicate with them.

"I'd say we're better practicing using the Protection Bubble against each other but what did you mean about those that are dark-aligned?" Kas asked Seo.

It did cause him to raise his awareness and guard up, Dark-siders being here or nearby that wasn't sitting all too well with Kas for the time being. Not doubting Seo but maybe she wasn't able to stop them on Lorrd.

The holocron master weighed the question Kas asked before answering.

"The more you practice, the better you will be. Over time, it will take less focus and concentration. Plus, as you gain your rank within the Order, you'll gain a stronger connection with the Force, and it will take less of your resources to maintain the barrier. Remember your limitations and don't overextend yourselves."

Seo looked at Kas as he asked the question and turned her attention back to Master Tyla, who gave a similar answer to the one he had before. When her new friend asked her what she meant, she shrugged a little and was quiet while she thought of her answer.

"There has been slavery on Lorrd for a great many years. Just because I am free, that does not mean everybody is. There are dark people here still."

Keeping it as simple as that, it was only the partial truth. Seo didn't want to reveal everything to Kas yet, but if he pried, she would tell him.

"You don't need to worry about them attacking us unless we provoke them. I also can't free all the slaves, but I do help them as I can, Kas."

On second thought, she felt he should know the whole truth.

"The additional dark elements here are rogue Force users that aren't a part of the Sith or Jedi. For the most part, we don't interact, but I do know some of those people. This is a public library."

Her voice was calm and full of assurance as she spoke, and she hoped it would put him a little at ease.

Kas listened to Master Tyla that was the Holocron's Gatekeeper and nodded his head between the hologram of the Master sharing the knowledge to both him and Seo. This was more peaceful in learning under an environment like this might be rare for Kas.

"Yes master, I won't over do it and train at a steady pace. I'm sure Seo will keep me right through my learning ahaha."

Kas responded to the Master and flashed a smile over to Seo but the smile soon faded when he listened to her mentioned statement about the Slavery on Lorrd. He disliked that unfortunate aspect and detail in life made the young Padawan Learner want to do something about it all. Closed his eyes and inhaled a deep, controlled breath of air to release any tension in his person then opened them back up as he exhaled air out.

"You know the Slavers involve themselves with Dark Elements? Hmm. We should let some form of authorities know and provide them with any support that we can muster, Seo. It's perhaps better than nothing."

There it was that dedication and determination oozing out from Kas with the words he said. The young man received quite a bit of intel and information from Seo but it is best to learn and train a good way to be prepared before considering any kind of confrontations or engagement to oppose those who basked in Darkened aspects of life.

"Very good. The theory lesson is finished. Now it's up to you two to put this into practice. Do you have any further questions at this time?"

Seo didn't and shook her head. Giving Kas the chance to answer the Master, when he did, she turned her attention to her new friend. She felt he was more than a stranger and could eventually be even more. Keeping that to herself, time would tell, and she was far from a fortune teller.

"Don't you think they know? Kas, this is the life on this world."

Once again, she showed him her faded tattoo. Not with any anger, though. Just a long acceptance of what it was to live on Lorrd. There wasn't anything she could do alone, and the people who freed her were long gone. The population reverted to the lives they had known. Where the strong preyed on the weak.

"I'm sorry. You don't understand. Let me show you. If we are done here for the day."

Looking at him, her eyes shone with a passion she didn't know she was showing.
