Password Not Working For Display Name Change

Hello!

I am trying to change the display name of a couple of my characters although when I do so, the site says my password is incorrect. I made sure I was using the right password by logging in and out of my account with my password and even changing the password to what I was already using just to make sure I was correct. I even changed my writer account's name slightly and oddly, it worked. Does the password only apply to the writer account or is this a bug that is not meant to happen. Either way, is it not possible to change my display name?

That only works for your Writer account.
For sub-accounts/Character accounts, you have to request the name change here.

Character accounts cannot have their name's changed by the writer. You must request it at this thread here.
