Part I "Lost and Missed" [Forgotten Blades Campaign]

She frowned ever so slightly to what he said, finding it somewhat belittling - before she realised that she was, after all, his child, and it had been seven years - half of her life time - since they had last met. With a small, thoughtful nod of her head, she began; "Scars are nothing new to me, Father; and the ones you see were the tiny price to pay for success." What this success was, however, she did not say - in fact she kept it purposely hidden, and swiftly moved on.

"Indeed, Daxton is no longer with us." In her attempt to keep his secret she was very ambiguous; her words suggested two things - either he was no longer alive, or with the Sith. Kara meant the latter, but the way she said it suggested the former. She did not want people after his trail, he still had his uses to her, after all.

When he rose she too stood with him and wandered after him after his assertion that it was time to go. It would be nice to leave this ship, especially now that the stars could not be seen through the windows. Yet part of her wished that they could just re-ascend to the heavens and remain there, locked in a beautiful stoicism. A Sith she might have been, but there were more passions than anger and hatred, and while she would never openly admit it Kara had an eye for beauty. Of course she also had a raging fury which for the most part was her main fuelling.

[Sorry it was short - it'd have been longer if I hadn't forgotten to do it! D: And I didn't want to keep you guys waiting]

Dranok understood what his daughter meant when she spoke of Daxton Bane. The man had never even heard of this particular master of his only child, it wasn't exactly his duty to slaughter everyone who treated his daughter incorrectly, but those feelings were hardwired into his DNA. It was simply just the way of life, nothing could change that. He couldn't help but turn to observe her rise from the cold, hard durasteel floor to trail him in the movement to speak to his senior bridge officers.

The Lord Admiral strode up to them with Kara by his side. "Gentlemen, I do so hope we're ready to depart. I'm beginning to loath staring at my own world." A few of the men chuckled at his statement and assured him, "Yes, sir. We're departing as we speak." As if on cue, the ship began to hum beneath his feet as the engines began to throttle up and follow the plotted course. Within moments, the Ascended Demon launched from its stationary position above Rattatak and their journey to Csilla would begin.

Horak hadn't been assigned to do anything, really. The HK-51 model droid merely went wherever he wanted to aboard the Demon. Since he was his master's bodyguard, he was the equivalent of an officer in the crew's eyes. Horak may have been an unofficial officer, yet he was never really treated that way. He was one of the crew, often making his rounds about the ship when his master wasn't around and making sure everything was ship-shape. The droid was like the whole crew's mascot, even going so far to partake in some leisure hour gambling and some activities arranged by them. Master didn't really mind that he did these things, just as long as he was able to function to full potential when he needed him to and stay by his side whenever he was away.

Since this was a fairly important mission to master and even his daughter was here, Horak figured he'd stay close to his master. So with a joyous clomping of foot components, he strolled on over to the door and waited, and waited, and waited. Even though he was a droid, he still had near-sentient programming from his assassin functions that allowed him to adapt quickly and develop a personality. To be simple, he was bored. Nothing to shoot, nothing to stab, no civilizations to crumble. The thought to fire his blaster rifle across the bridge crossed his mind, but he went against it based on the assumption that master would turn him into a toilet for his misbehavior.

Luckily, some entertainment arrived. Horak's yellow photoreceptors shifted as a cloaked figure strolled to the bridge.
"My friend, this hallway is not big enough for both of us besides each other. Move out of the way, please."
If droids could laugh, Horak would have been rolling on the floor doing so. At the sound of a threat, his assassination protocols kicked in that very instant and his blaster rifle was immediately raised across his chest in a guard-like fashion. "Request: State identity and business on the bridge." His metallic voice rang out. If this man was getting past him, then he'd better have clearance.

Reece smiled lightly as he observed the young girl stare out at the spinning stars as the ship finally kicked into gear and set off on their plotted course. In the back of his mind, Reece couldn't help but pray to any God that his work had been good enough and wouldn't end up getting in trouble by the Admiral. The Admiral sure was strict when it came to official business such as this, but Lieutenant Vicks knew that he treated the entire crew like family. After all, they were his crew, they only served in the Fringe because he did. Most of the crew was from the original group, a portion of the men on the Demon were new guys such as himself that joined up during the early days of the Fringe.
"I'm quite sure Admiral Lussk doesn't need me at the moment."
Reece grinned. "Okay, as long as it's fine with the Admiral." His face reddened slightly as his eyes averted to the ground. "I'm just glad I get a little company."
"So tell me more about yourself, Lieutenant Reece. What is your life story? What inspired you to join this "Fringe" organization? After that, maybe I'll tell you a thing or two about myself..."
The Lieutenant leaned against the display table of the navigation system. "Well, I'm 19 years old. I grew up on Rattatak like any other normal kid. I went to school, made good grades and lots of friends, and then I ended up in the most prestigious academy on the entire planet. The Rattatak Military Academy established by your Master, Admiral Lussk." He smiled, remembering the induction ceremony and his few encounters with the Admiral back at the academy when he served as the headmaster. "It was really fun, Mom and Dad were so proud of me. The whole military lifestyle suited me so I stuck with it for the 2 years and graduated. I was then commissioned as a Lieutenant and was stationed here aboard the Ascended Demon."

"What about you?"

OOC: Sweet! We're finally here on page 2 and now we're off to Csilla! But I wanted to mention something first: you guys made a total of 10,305 words on the first page. That is a whopping size and is almost enough for a short novel. I'm really proud of you all and your effort in this campaign. I promise I'll give you all some IC goodies as well as training in this thread.

Good job with the NPC interaction so far, I think Paega is doing the best in that aspect. But otherwise, keep it up! I've never seen such conviction and effort in a single thread.

"Request: State identity and business on the bridge."
Jared had to laugh at the droids's boldness, but he was a guest of the Admiral. So he would respond it with courtesy, instead of asskicking. "Prophet Knight Jared Ovmar, I am part of Admiral Lussk's expedition to who knows where. Now that you know my credentials, why not give me yours?"

He did not really expect an answer from the droid, but any bits of information he could get could be useful. Maybe not now, but someday. While waiting for a reply Jared did wonder how it would feel like to have a bodyguard, his Vornskr pup did wonders already. But having a dedicated guard.. that idea had potential.

OOC: Mate, please give me more to work with. I am having a hard time to come up with good stuff at the moment. :p

As the pair of them talked, Paega became aware of the fact that the ship now had begun humming as it lifted off from the ground. She looked around in fascination while at the same time listening to the lieutenant as they were finally airborne. They were finally leaving Rattatak. The blonde apprentice was somewhat nervous and excited to be part of this journey. Hopefully they were in for a smooth ride, and the next planet they would be landing on be Csilla.

What was almost equally as fascinating was listening to the lieutenant's life story. Paega had never known how normal people, or what she meant by that Non-Force Users, did in life. "...What about you?" The apprentice thought for a second, nodding as if she was processing what she had heard. Inside her mind, she debated whether or not to tell him about herself. As far as she was concerned, no one really knew about her full story.

"I'm 16..." she began. "I grew up on Coruscant. Well in Coruscant's slums to be more specific. My mother died when I was very young, I don't remember much about her. My father was an alcoholic, I didn't see him that often. I never went to school, and from what I can remember, I spent my most of my childhood looking for stuff to eat." she said with a smirk, concentrating to remember what came next. "The next thing I know, I was kidnapped when I was around ten. I ended up in Imperial space, where they discovered I was Force-Sensitive." she concluded.

When they reached the crew it was two steps from her Father's side before she reached the shadows. This time she remained there, watching and listening as they discussed the imminent departure from this planet, mostly staring at the man who had brought her into this world. It would be nice to venture through space again, to watch the stars flash by the window. With a small sigh she waited for Dranok to be finished, before stepping closer to him, and lowering her voice so only he could hear. "What am I to do during the journey, Father? Unless you wish for me to remain with you and learn from you as we go." Truth be told that idea brought a smile to her mind - but it never reached her lips, no smiles rarely did. It would be nice to learn the ways of a ship such as this, and who better to learn it from than the Admiral? Her own Father none the less? Awaiting his response she stared out across the crew, and saw the men she had scolded and almost destroyed the minds of earlier. With a knowing glare in their direction the men hurried off to complete whatever task they had been given, even if that was to simply prepare for the ship's imminent take off.

The hum of the vessel underneath his feet felt natural. Dranok smiled as the senior officers carried out their conversation before him, reminiscing of his earliest memories aboard starships. His Father was a Commodore, his Mother a merchant fleeter. Heck, even Dranok was born on a starship. The art of fleeting and warfare flowed through his veins, it was what he was meant to be. Apparently, to his surprise, it ran through Kara's as well.
"What am I to do during the journey, Father? Unless you wish for me to remain with you and learn from you as we go."
The Lord Admiral had to pause for a moment. That single statement told him everything. He could barely believe the words that had came from her mouth. My daughter wants to learn to command ships, fleets, and armies? His smile grew even larger than before, cocking his head to the side to whisper back to her. "If that is what you so desire." He pulled his head back up, the grin still pasted across his demeanor. A moment passed, the Lord Admiral concentrating on the conversation of the senior officers before him. A few Lieutenant Commanders were before him along with a pair of Captains. Dranok took a step forward and cleared his throat, immediately silencing the already dimming conversation. "Gentlemen," he gestured towards Kara. "This is my daughter, Commodore Kara Vi'dreya. She'll be helping me with this mission." His voice steeled. "I expect nothing more than perfection whilst serving her, am I understood?" The men shot glances to each other as they saluted, giving curt nods to their new superior.

"Dismissed. Make sure everything's running smoothly."

Horak's photorecptors shifted in and out, gauging each and every inch of the robed anomaly. He could have been anyone, even someone with a harmful intent towards the master. The quick realization of such a possibility urged the assassin protocols humming within his mother board to immediately eliminate the potential threat to the master.
"Prophet Knight Jared Ovmar, I am part of Admiral Lussk's expedition to who knows where. Now that you know my credentials, why not give me yours?"
The blaster rifle held in the droid's hands didn't shift away from the blocking position it'd created. The bodyguard was planted in the middle of the door, his A280 blaster rifle crossed his torso to give the very definition of a guard. The name did, however, run through all of Horak's input system that cleared the man and gave him access. "Conclusion: Jared Ovmar, your identity has been verified and you now have access to the bridge." The droid didn't know the man by sight, but he'd been uploaded with personnel files on each member of the crew and the new guests that had come along. However, the man's latter question was one the assassin droid couldn't predict. "Statement: I am HK-51, referred to as 'Horak' by the master."

The assassin droid concluded his identity revealing and backed away from the center of the door. Mr Ovmar would either pass or wait, but if he passed, then Horak was going to come with him. It was getting boring here anyways.

As Reece watched Paega talk, he couldn't help but scoot a little closer to her. She was just...stunning. Her blonde hair, the exotic freckles, and her slender appearance was more than a hearty combination to spread pink across the junior officer's cheeks. Her life story was just as surprising as she was.
"I'm 16...I grew up on Coruscant. Well in Coruscant's slums to be more specific. My mother died when I was very young, I don't remember much about her. My father was an alcoholic, I didn't see him that often. Lieutenant Vicks could barely believe his ears. A girl like this had such a horrible life. He frowned at the parts of her early beginnings in the slums of the galactic capital and her kidnapping by the Sith. A Sith, right, she was one. Although she didn't seem like it, she still held the title as the Admiral's apprentice. At least she was under the Admiral and not one of those...savages. "Jeez, that sounds horrible. My parents are still back on Rattatak, enjoying retirement while I fulfill my dreams as a starship officer." He offered a bright smile. "Plus, you just made a friend. What more could you ask for?!" Reece gave a happy chuckle and planted a hand upon her shoulder.

Meanwhile in the engine room...
The gears shook and rattled. The entire system was on the brink of collapsing, fluids were leaking from the internal mainframe, and a dangerously low electrical output was threatening to collapse and spark a fire. It was as if something like this was planned...even the Chief Engineer who'd been here minutes ago with his cloaked guest, nothing would halt the inevitable outcome of such a combination of events.

A sparking cord dropped, blown out of its fuse from the electrical grid instability. It's ember of sparks peppered the moist floor, a floor which was covered with axle and coolant fluids. The sparks danced across the entire floor, enveloping the engine room in a searing sea of fire and rage as it crackled and popped, inching its way towards the main drives with evil intentions in mind. The arcing flames splashed over the main unit and covered every cranny of it with liquid hatred, pouring into the drives and igniting it. The explosion was not one of a festival night, it merely put all attempts at such feats to shame. The single spark had erupted that entire section of the ship into shrapnel and flames. It roared with thunderous smoke as the ship blew apart internally.

Hundreds of legionnaires, crewmen, and droids were lost immediately. The ship split apart, the furthermost rear of it falling back into the shadows of the void as its torso and head rocketed onwards...towards a planet.

OOC: Annnnddd we're off to see the wizard! I really, really hope you guys like this scene! I initially planned on having everyone die in the explosion and crash except for the PCs and Horak, but tell me if you'd like to keep Jaax, Reece, or some other NPCs alive. Let me know ASAP in the Forgotten Blades PM conversation. Posting order starts again, now it's Jared's turn!

Jared inclined his head at the droid's answer and then resumed towards the Admiral. He had to suppress a chuckle at the diligence of said droid, noticing that it was actually following him. He slowly shook his head in amusement.

"It is so nice of you to escort me to the Admiral, but do you not have anything better to do?"

He had been here twice already, but Jared still marveled at the sheer magnitude of the bridge. He had to have himself such a nice little ship.. maybe after all this was over he would wager a bet with the fine Admiral. Jared had always been a lucky bastard, he might just win the wager.

Then explosions, the ship shuddered in what seemed like agony. Jared fell with his head against a barricade and the proud Prophet Knight lost consciousness within a second. A small part of him was furious at the apparent ease he got himself knocked out, little did that part of him know what actually had happened with the ship.

Paega gave a nod at the lieutenant's remarks. She had decided not to bother herself with the past anymore. The longer she lingered on her past, the more it took her out of the present. "Plus, you just made a friend. What more could you ask for?!" Paega returned the lieutenant's smile with a smile of her own. Indeed, a friend. Glancing at the young man's hands on her shoulder she asked herself what she really could ask for.

What happened next completely took Paega off-guard. A sound of an explosion rang out, possibly the loudest explosion Paega had ever heard. The bridge crew was going nuts by that point from what she could tell. The blonde apprentice hadn't been on many space travels, and this experience certainly wasn't going to be making her any more fond of space travels from what she could tell.

Something had gone terribly wrong, there was no question of that. The explosion had knocked her off her feet, and Paege was pushed sideways, and skidded slightly across the floor. "What's going on?!" she shouted to no one in particular, fighting to keep the panic off of her voice. She looked around the bridge, and tried to spot the lieutenant that she had just talked with, as well as her master.

Ah, he liked that idea it seemed. She saw his shock and then his delight as she asked to be taught the ropes, to learn from him of his own personal passion. His smile and his whisper was enough to solidify the fact in her mind that Dranok was going to allow this to happen. Maybe it would bridge the gap between the both of them, give them a common ground. When he announced, however, to the crew that she was to become a Commodore... Well she was surprised to say the least, as were they. But they respected their Admiral and rightly so. She inclined her head in response to their salute. Then she fell back into step beside her Father. "Well that was unexpected" she whispered, again her words meant solely for him. "But then again you likely didn't expect it of me either, so we're even. Perhaps this will be a new chapter for us, Father."

After a few more steps something seemed to go wrong. The ground beneath their feet shook and the view outside the window grew different. From down below there was a sudden explosion which rang through the ship, tearing it apart. Her body was thrown aside and when she landed she grasped onto the rail which ran along one section of the bridge. There was no time to panic, she merely lowered her head to protect it as they fell without warning towards the closest planet, the descent fast and wild. There was no telling how this would end.

The Lord Admiral smiled at his daughter, obviously shocked by his actions in promoting her to a rank almost right below his own. She would have authority, she even had power to make major decisions for an entire fleet if she spoke her mind. Experience was key in times like these. There was always an old saying regarding experience: The newest, least experienced soldier will most likely win the Star of the Fringe. The man chuckled at the thought, attempting to picture his daughter on a battlefield. He turned to face her as they walked away, "A new chapter? I like it."

At that instant, the entire body of the ship lurched. The gravity stabilizers began to go haywire and the whole bridge turned towards. Dranok's eyes shot wide, his hands splaying out to grab anything he could. The head of the vessel tilted downwards into the thick atmosphere of an unknown planet, the telltale signs of fire and sparks flaying as the remaining shields held out as much as they could. The Lord Admiral dropped against the bulkhead, the metal that he was previously standing on no longer was classified as the floor. The bridge remained at a tilt, crewmen and officers panicking to save the ship by climbing up to their control panels and reorienting the bridge. Sparks and wires were ripped from the ceiling and walls, raining fire and electricity down onto the crew. And more specifically, his daughter.

"Kara!" He cried out, shoving himself from the bulkhead to throw his body over hers. Pain erupted throughout his body as shards of metallic plates, sparks, and other objects slammed into him. A jagged piece of plating snapped by and embedded itself in his arm, severing a vein and causing a downpour of freshly strewn blood. The man grunted, wincing in pain as he tightened himself further around Kara.

It was going to be the end.

Horak's photorecptors remained locked onto the form of Jared as he began his journey to speak to the Admiral. Horak could see the master, on the far side of the bridge in a conversation with other officers and his daughter. The droid vividly remembered the master's words regarding his offspring: "Horak, if it comes down to it, safe her instead of me." The assassin droid didn't exactly know what master meant, but dutifully nodded and tucked that order away to carry out when he had to. And, apparently, he wouldn't have to right now.

The bowels of the ship exploded into a mass of fire and shrapnel as it drooped forwards into the atmosphere. Horak's foot stabilizers helped him stay upright as the vessel tipped over, but that was the far least of his problems. A chair rolled backwards, knocking into him to drop the droid to the ground and wrench the blaster rifle from his hands to send it flying. The rolling chair didn't harm him, yanking it and tossing it to the side as he rose. He searched the area, trying to find the master in the smoke. To his avail, he couldn't without moving somewhere else, which was out of the question considering his current crisis. Moreover, Jared Ovmar has been thrown to the floor with tiny pieces of debris peppering his slowly breathing form. The safety of the crew took over Horak's drives and sending him sprinting forward to Ovmar's form, the droid quickly assessed his breathing, circulation, and injuries. He had a concussion, judging from the profuse bleeding coming from the gash on his forehead.

The droid gingerly, but firmly, grabbed the sides of his figure and pulled him under a desk. The piece of furniture was rock solid, given its built-in legs that kept it anchored to the bulkhead.

Just great. Horak thought. What a nice day.

The hand that was placed upon Paega's shoulder made Reece tremble. She was warm and it felt good. Her girlish smile that followed made him blush even harder. Maybe when all of this was over, he could take her out to dinner or something. It'd be nice, but getting the paid leave of absence would be quite the mission to undertake. Of course the Admiral had recently promoted him, but it was a little too soon to be asking for things such as paid leave. But still, it was a flickering hope that remained in his heart. Hopefully he'd get the chance to go somewhere with her soon.

Just as the thought entered his mind, a massive thump erupted in the back of the ship. The Lieutenant's eyes widened as he witnessed flames spew across the bridge and another rocketing explosion tilt the ship forward. Other crewmen and officers were thrown across the deck, many of them crashing into the bulkheads, other personnel, or modules placed around the bridge. Cries and shouts rang out as the casualties mounted up. Reece felt the floor under him disappear as yet another blast threw him upwards and spiraling to the ground with a crash. He landed in an awkward position, his arm bent at a strange angle with bright blood soaking into his sleeve. "Ahhhghh!" He cried out as a chunk of metal plating crashed onto the same arm, pinning him to the ground. Vast geysers of blood slayed from the wound.

"Someone help!"

Master Chief Petty Officer Jaax Astrum
Another job done. Jaax thought as he happily tromped through the Ascended Demon. He'd just finished up work in the engines room, some circuiting was shot to hell, but he patched it up the best he could. It wasn't his fault he couldn't fully encase the wiring in a protective sealant, they ran out of it in the supply room. Jaax stretched it thin to cover as much of the wiring as he could, but without further attention soon, it could erupt into a fire or an explosion. Ah well. The Chief shrugged as he strolled into the mess hall near the bridge. A familiar form caught his eye. "Oh hey, Janek! What're we havin' for lunch?" He called out, closing the distance between the two men to shake his hand. "Ah, just the usual, man. The mess crew just got a new shipment of nerf steaks, so I'm hoping that there'll be some of that in our soup or somethin'." Jaax smiled, clapping the other crewman on the back. "Let's hop in line."

And with that, the pair entered at the back of the line, grabbing plates and chatting idly as the queue for lunch dimmed down. "So how's your wif-" An kaboom flared through the corridors, filling the mess hall with smoke and fire. A backdraft explosion sent Jaax and Janek tumbling to the ground, spilling their fresh soup across the ground. "Kark! What the feth?!" The Chief snarled, his eyes blazing as he wiped off boiling hot liquid from his trousers. Janek staggered to stand up, "Chief! It's the engines!" He screamed, waving goodbye to the man to sprint off and grab his fire-proof jacket.

Janek Vandan was a member of the fire protection detachment aboard the Demon, giving Jaax a very much needed morale boost as he observed his comrade strap on his limited gear and charge off into the fire. Chief Astrum rose from his position, wildly looking around to find something to do to help. Many of the crewmen and legionnaires here weren't dressed for the occasion, many of them even in their underwear since the nearby barracks bay was seemingly left largely intact. Legionnaires sprinted by, snagging fire extinguishers from the wall and handing them off to other crewmen.

Jaax ran over to one of them, held out his hands to receive one, and began helping in the collective goal to help put out the fires.

OOC: So whadaya think? Like the scene? I sure hope so, I spent an hour writing this post >.< but it's all for you. Continue these great posts and don't be afraid to act out of the norm and charge off back into the fires to try to help the crew or save other legionnaires and officers. Posting order starts again: Jared, Paega, and then Kara.

Jared was trapped inside of his own body. The repairs to it came slowly, he needed more power. Now he cursed the days that he could have spent on training his healing abilities and instead drank his damn coffee. No matter now. Jared started searching for more energy. He had heard of a technique which would enable him to siphon off energy from living creatures. Never learned it though, too Sith-like for his taste. But now he felt he had to do something. To survive. He lashed out with the Force, grabbing the little strings of energy that tied every living person together to each other.

Soon he saw the difference between the strings of the dying and those of the living. The living had a strong presence, their strings pulsated with energy. It took him a lot of focus and willpower to stay clear of those. He could see now why this power was considered dangerous and dark. One would need a lot of Will, to ignore the natural hunger of ones self. It seemed so easy.. to just grab hold of a healthy string and devour it. Sensing his own dark arousal, he jumped back.

Carefully he examined every string there was, picking out the ones that were clearly weaker than the rest. Dying. Slowly he started to gather their energy. And then he pulled all into him. It was almost too much. The pain was excruciating. But in the end it was worth it, the energy flowing through him. It was amazing.

Finding himself underneath a desk with a droid nonetheless, made him a bit worried. What the hell happened, he only remembered tripping and then hitting his head. It was worrying that this had been necessary.

"Thank you, Horak, I appreciate your help. Go check on the other members of the crew."

Without looking if the droid accepted his command, he started to reach out with the Force. Trying to find strong signs of life, among the wounded and the dying. He would not be able to save everyone. But the strong ones? He could do that. It did not take long before Jared found what he was looking for. A soldier, laying on deck. A middle-aged guy, with a steady flowing string attached to him. Alone he would die anyway, but with his help? With his help he could survive this.

He reached out towards the man's string and poured strength into it. Draining the surrounding people of their rapidly vanishing energy. It did not take long before the man opened his eyes and grabbed hold of Jared's coat.

"You.. saved me. I am in your debt. As of this.. day I will follow you always."

The man managed to say before slumping back into oblivion. He had wasted his energy on his speech, but Jared was touched by it nonetheless. Gesturing towards one of the few soldiers who were still alive and kicking.

"Soldier, take care of this man and try to pull out as many others as you can."

Then he remembered the hilarious Chief of Engineering, Jaax. Nodding to the soldier he took off to find the Chief. He would at least try to find and save him, if possible.

Paega felt tempted to scream as she gazed around the bridge as flames spewed across the bridge. This was not at all what she had expected when she signed up for the mission. The blonde apprentice massaged her injured shoulder, since she had bumped into a nearby wall following the first explosion. Explosions shook the ship, and she watched frozen from her spot as the cruiser tipped even further down. They were really starting to descend now, and the blonde apprentice was slightly nauseous. The bridge crew seemed to having trouble controlling their descent, especially since the ship seemed to have lost its cohesion.

"Someone help!"

Paega whirled around to see Reece not that far off. At that point, parts of the bridge had collapsed, and the lieutenant seemed to have fallen to the level below. There were injuries all across the bridge, and she didn't know where her master was. But she knew for a fact that she would see to it that her new friend didn't get injured. The blonde lept from her positon and landed rather unsteadily infront of the injured lieutenant. She gripped a nearby railing for balance as the ship shook once more from the explosion. He seemed to be bleeding from his arm, which was bent at a dangerously strange angle. "It's going to be alright, Reece." she said softly to the young man, and extended her arms infront of her. Paega closed her eyes, and focused the flow of the Force through her hands, directed at the metal plating that had pinned down Reece by the arm. She would free her friend from his trapped position first, then she would have to do something about the ship's descent. At this rate, none of them could end up surviving the crash if they kept up the steep descent.

She could feel her body crushed by the weight of her Father, before moments later being subjected to the sound of his pained screams, when shrapnel shot in all directions towards his body. Part of her wanted to push him off and take the hit herself, but for one she lacked the physical strength to do so and two she doubted she would survive if she did. He may have been her Father but her natural survival instincts were much more precedent than such. When they hit the ground, that is the ship, her whole being shuddered in pain as what felt like fire spread up her back. She'd hit it hard, and her body was already weak as it stood, which only made matters worse. "D-Dranok..?" she asked, as she tried to roll his body off hers, coughing to the smoke and dust which lined the air, making it thick and heavy to breathe. "F-Father?"

Internally she panicked. Could she lose him? She had met him late on in her life, later than most, and had barely met with him, but he was still her Father, and she still cared even if at times she didn't seem to, even if she was more indifferent than that. Waiting for his response she could do nothing save lay there, hoping that he would soon be off her so that they could see to the rest of the ship and the mess it likely had become. Just what had happened? She knew that the engine room had been in trouble, but had figured they would be sorting that out... Wasn't that why Jar--- Jared had been down there, and now she was wondering if the Knight was okay, he would have been in the area where the brunt of the blast catalysed from...

Even more thumps cracked into Dranok's form as he hunched over his child. Screams and shrieks of metal on metal rang out, ensuring that the man kept his head burrowed down above Kara's. A jagged shard of durasteel had planted its horrific form in the man's arm, blood still pouring from the wound that had been caused just moments before. Several more objects plopped onto his back and legs, spreading the fire of pain throughout him like a raging blaze. His eyes snapped shut in agony as even more sparks rained down upon him.
"D-Dranok..?"
"F-Father?"
The man's eyes slid open a fraction to stare down into the face of his child. His one and only child, the only reason he still existed. A trembling soot covered hand rose to cup her cheek. His voice wavered, "Don't worry." Golden eyes brimmed at the edges, droplets forming at the slit. "Everything will be okay." A massive lurch in the ship became apparent, the velocity speeding up with each passing second. The smell of smoke, burnt circuitry, and death hung thick in the air as the oxygen the breathed grew thin. They were entering the atmosphere. Most of the debris had stopped raining down upon them, the majority of it collected at the bottom of the tilted axis of the surviving portion of the vessel.

Dranok removed his hand from Kara's cheek, planting it on the bulkhead to steady himself. His face was blackened, bloodied, and gashes were aplenty. The man glanced back down at his daughter one more time, the swelling of his eyes still apparent though he'd recovered to maintain his usual stoic state. A slow turn of the head to gaze left was all he had left to see. Golden eyes widened as trees, ponds, and dirt grew closer. The crash of the bridge sent him tumbling off of Kara, his form thrown into the air before dropping back down with a staggering blow. Metal screeched as it tore apart trees, vines, and the very bottom of its own hull.

His breathing grew faint. His eyes clamped shut.

Darkness consumed him.

OOC: Well, thanks for such a fething amazing ride in! This is to be the final post of Part I and there's a reason why I left out the NPC actions. The NPCs' fates will be determined in the opening post for Part II. For those who have requested that players stay alive, they will. All others who might've survived will not be living.
