OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To give a planet that would host the Seiarenei, as well as serve as a roleplaying ground for future Seiarenei characters.
  • Image Credit: "Water Planet" by Cerberean on Deviantart.
  • Canon: N/A
  • Links: Links to development threads will be updated later on as they are achieved.
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Planet Name: Palamir
  • Demonym: Palirian
  • Region: Unknown
  • System Name: Sirreis System
  • System Features: Palamir is one of the five planets found in the Sirreis System, out of which only two are inhabitable. Orbiting around the yellow star Synesius, Palamir is the second planet in the habitable zone. Its rotational period last 28 hours and its orbital one takes 367 days. Palamir is also surrounded by four moons, Tryphosa, Iris, Philinna and Chryse. They respectively represent the notions of Passion, Lust, Motherhood and Spite to the Seiarenei.
  • Coordinates: K - 13
  • Major Imports: Not applicable yet (lack of spacefaring means for trading).
  • Major Exports: Not applicable yet (lack of spacefaring means for trading).
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
  • Gravity: Standard
  • Climate: Tropical, although 30% of the planet is in a perpetual winter.
  • Primary Terrain: Oceans, which represent around 90% of the planet's surface.

  • Major Locations:
- Klymene: The underwater palace and capital of the Seiarenei, mixing advanced technology with a very traditional style (based on Ancient Greece). This is where the Dremire and the Unlit Ones reside, along with a significant among of Seiarenei. It is located onto the ocean floor, very deeply under the water – well past the limit of where the Zeltrons are allowed to go.

- Sikyos: The name of the island the Zeltrons reside in. Most of it remains unspoiled; the jungles of the island and its rivers are cherished by the Zeltrons, and it has been whispered among Seiarenei that some adventurous ones of their species have wandered there, spreading tales of how wonderful the nature is on land.

- Ioklos: The capital of the Zeltrons, set onto the coastline. It used to be flourishing with fishing operations, although now most of the fishing is done further away, and the waters there have been consecrated to the Seiarenei – a temple has been erected in the bay. The city has changed to a classical style (based on Ancient Greece, too) adopted from the Seiarenei. Statues, fountains and temples are a common sight in the city.

- Boralis: On the opposite site of the planet, far, far away from Klymene, a stray community of Seiarenei settled in the freezing cold waters there, forming a different type of society. Rather than a majestic, great capital, many settlements are found here and there, mostly settled in natural formations such as grottos. The Seiarenei inhabiting the Boralis Depths, as they call it, are known to be an immensely rare sight out of their waters; with time, it became a haven for Seiarenei devoid of the Force who manage to escape enslavement. Because of this, tensions often rise between Boralis and Klymene, although it often stays under control.
Force Nexus: N/A

POPULATION

  • Native Species: NA
  • Immigrated Species: Zeltrons, Seiarenei
  • Population: Moderately populated
  • Demographics: A majority of Seiarenei inhabits the planet, since the Zeltrons have less than 7% of the planet available to live onto and have to give up a large portion of their male offspring to the Seiarenei, keeping their growth in check. The Seiarenei can show to be quite disdainful to the Zeltrons (seeing them as valuable neighbors only for the protection and technology they offer), although there are cases where friendships and even love has been observed between them, whereas the Zeltrons worship and adore the Seiarenei.
  • Primary Languages: Okeanei and Zeltron.
  • Culture: The Zeltron aristocracy speaks the same language as the Seiarenei, whom they view as goddesses, worshipping them. Some Seiarenneis are curious enough to learn the Zeltron language, too. Each year, they hold great competitions in varied fields dedicated in the name of their aquatic rulers, who sometimes come to attend the ceremonies. Although it is something they loathe to admit, the Seiarenei very much enjoy the arts of the Zeltrons, sometimes rewarding them with treasures from the deep. The Zeltrons' pursuit of pleasure and their sense of sensuality are characteristics some Seiarenei greatly enjoy. Water sports are the Zeltron's favorites, and great painters seek the recognition of the Seiarenei as an accomplishment in their career.
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: The Zeltrons are under an absolute monarchy, while the Seiarenei follow a similar rule to that of Anthemoessa: that of the Dremire and the Unlit Council (with the exception of those of the Boralis Depths, who have no government to speak of). The twin princesses of Anthemoessa are now the queens who govern the kingdom of the depths.

  • Affiliation: Anthemoessa, Dremire Family
  • Wealth: High - The potential for trading in the planet's depths is there, and all it needs is the means to be traded. Minerals, crystals, gems and such are quite easy to find, if one is willing to swim deep enough.
  • Stability: Medium – Conflicts are extremely rare on the surface now that the Zeltrons refusing the Seiareneis cult have been vanquished. Whenever it happens, it is mostly disputes between the Seiareneis of Klymene and Boralis, and the hostilities are defused by their queens.
  • Freedom & Oppression: The Queen of the Seiareneis technically rules the planet, although she lets the Zeltron Regent take care of most things regarding his own species. The Seiareneis do not need to control or enslave the Zeltrons, for they are already fanatical in their faith for them. The biggest issue would be the fact that the Seiareneis enslave those among them that are not born as force users. Despite this, some mothers have been known to flee with their child to Boralis when this happens; they are then either recaptured and both enslaved, or if they manage to make it to Boralis, they are mostly going to be safe. The Seiareneis of Boralis do not trust their cousins, which is something they reciprocate.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY

  • Military: The Zeltrons are much more militarized than the Seiarenei; although the aquatic race still has some weaponry, they know that should they be attacked, their worshippers will rush to their aid. The Zeltrons have a standing army of professionals, who are, although few, very experienced in their cract – considering it like any other form of art. All soldiers are trained to use underwater combat suit and weaponry.
  • Technology: The Zeltrons are in a pre-Space age, in the sense that they are very much capable of creating spaceships technologically, but they prefer to look downwards into the depths of the ocean rather than up at the stars, putting their greatest minds into developing aquatic technology. The Seiarenei do not invent anything of themselves, preferring to take from the Zeltronians what technology interests them.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Palamir used to be a standard world, with much, much more land. Zeltrons had established there after discovering the world in 426 ABY while fleeing the spread of the Gulag Virus, colonizing the quite hospitable planet. However, during the events of the Four Hundred Years Darkness, they had to resort to drastic measures, hoping to adapt the ecosystem around them to fight the terrifying advance of the disease, as an infected ship showed up in the orbite of their planet, pleading for help – only to be shot out of the sky out of hear of infection.
The scientists failed in their attempt to adapt the planet's ecosystem, and caused a catastrophic event that caused the water level to rise rapidly, submerging most of the planet in days; by 493 ABY, most of the land was submerged, and an entire portion of its surface was thrown in constant winter after the consequent failure of a last attempt at stabilizing the situation.
Only a small portion of the civilization survived, and they rapidly fell into infighting and tribal wars. A few generations later, they were sent back into the Bronze Age, and were united by a warring queen under one banner: they prospered, living off of fishing and trading between small villages and settlements.

Untouched by the Gulag Plague and isolated in the Unknown parts of the galaxy, the Zeltrons of Palamir thrived; although they kept a classical type of culture, they evolved through the ages unhindered, preferring to dedicate their time to enjoying themselves rather than think of planetary expansion. They evolved up to a pre-spatial age (capable of space travel, but preferring to expand underwater rather than up toward the stars, as the fear of their ancestors of immigrants carrying the Gulag Plague was still alive) thanks to the rediscovery of ancient outposts and stations (and the technology and blueprints they held) from before the Flooding. They rested with tranquility, indulging in the sensuality, love and hedonism of their society.

However, this time of peace and progress would be brought to a violent close as the planet was hit especially hard in 844 ABY by the Netherworld events. Force-Sensitive Zeltrons went mad, entire villages disappeared, and troubling storms were observed from the depths of the oceans. All infrastructures the Zeltrons had onto the water were destroyed.
The population survived the event, but was deeply affected and weakned by it. With their great island (the only land remaining above water after the Netherworld events) ruined, they lost hope, menacing to fall into tribal wars once more.

It was then that the Seiarenei arrived. In 845 ABY, a large group of them had decided to leave their home world of Anthemoessa, transported by a freighter ship of scoundrels; when the crew tried to sell them as slaves, they killed them and took control of the ship, although it took heavy damage and was forced out of hyperspace next to Palamir. They survived the crash-landing into the planet's ocean, leaving the wreckage easily thanks to their water form. Among them, were the disappeared princesses of Anthemoessa.

The Zeltrons were quick to discover them; and the Seiarenei were quick to take advantage of the status of ruin and hopelessness of the local population, presenting themselves as sea goddesses. The fact they managed to manipulate the water life of the ocean world soon proved their alleged godly nature to many Zeltrons – those who refused to submit to this belief were slaughtered by their brethern in a short but bloody war. It was the start of a new age from there; temples and altars to the Seiareneis were erected, and society rebuilt itself around the solace that the newfound religion brought.

The Seiarenei lost no time in imposing themselves over the planet, different tribes scattering in the immenseness of the ocean world. Representatives of the tribes would come to shore from time to time to claim their tribute of men from the Zeltrons, who would never be seen again. Whenever technological improvement was made, some curious Seiarenei would sometime come over to witness its effects, sometimes demanding for the technology to be shared with them. The Zeltrons were allowed to create infrastuctures and cities underwater, but they would not be allowed to settle in certain locations or go deeper than a certain point.
A standing army was created by the Zeltrons, with the main purpose of protecting their goddesses and their underwater realm.

NOTES: This planet will see changes as threads concerning it unfold; both Syss and I intend to create characters related to this planet and have plot lines influencing it.

Looks mostly fine to me – the only real issue I see is this:

  • You have an isolated tribe on an isolated planet going from Bronze age tech to (effectively) Space age tech in... less than 400 years.
  • Please adjust the timeline or insert some other event that helps them make that massive a jump in such a short time.

EDIT: Derp. Almost forgot; please fill out the whole OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION section. You must use the whole template.
