Intent: This is the Gallinorean Duchal residence and government centre.

Classification: Duchal Palace

Location: A-North sector of the City of Dimitor, near the bay, capital city of Gallinore, planet in the Interior Region the Hapes Consortium. Grid 0-9, Inner Rim of the Galaxy.

Affiliation: House Zhan of Gallinore.

Description: The Palace of Saint Clavelle has a somewhat modern appearance. The inside is predominately alabaster white with some splashes of colour from furniture, decor, and lighting. There are many rooms for staff, guests, and the Duchal family. Each room is luxuriously furnished and well lit. Many ultra modern, state-of-the art appliances are used here and are meant to be utilitarian and stylish. In the main hall's atrium there is a tall marble statue of Saint Clavelle, the Wayist patron saint and founder of Dimitor City and matriarchal ancestor of House Zhan.

History: At the dawn of the Hapes Consortium circa 4,000 BBY (C.Y. 0), there was a bloody war. The Lorrell Raiders were the patriarchal pirate rulers of the Hapes Cluster who used it as a well-concealed and protected base of operations for their extensive raiding parties that once terrorised the Galaxy's hyperlanes almost 5,000 years ago. They would capture the most beautiful women they could along with material goods and bring them back to the Hapes Cluster. The women would effectively be enslaved and used for breeding and as servants and labourers. Things remained that way for a long time until the Republic finally had had enough of the pirates.

A group of Jedi led by the legendary Arca Jeth and Republic military set a trap just beyond the borders of what is now Hapan Space. The pirates believed they had an opportunity for a raid of a lifetime only to have most of their forces utterly defeated. Meanwhile, inside the treacherous Transitory Mists that enveloped the Hapes Cluster, the women had also had enough of their lot in life and rose up against what pirates were left. The Republic and Jedi forces as well as the rebellious slaves shut down the Lorell Raiders with a vengeance. The war was long and with many casualties, but in the end it was a victory for the oppressed.

Among those assisting the insurrection was a Jedi Exile named Clavelle Zhan of Coruscant. While not officially part of the Jedi Order at the time, she made her own way to the battle to seek redemption. Her staging ground was the Planet Gallinore, which at the time was sparsely populated, little more than a fairly recent colony. She helped liberate the planet and rather than petition to rejoin the Jedi, she instead found a calling to remain with the newly liberated women, who themselves chose to stay and eek out an existence of their own. It was on a coastal area overlooking what is now Dimitor Bay and the Ceres Ocean beyond that that the City of Dimitor was officially founded in C.Y 20.

Zhan set her permanent residence upon a coastal hill overlooking the budding city and raised a family there, adopting the new Hapan custom of matriarchy. She slowly found herself taking on a position of power, initially as a sort of mayor although her children quickly became among the first Nobles of the planet when the Consortium was officially organised. Concerning Wayism, Clavelle Zhan did not found the prevalent religion of Wayism and never adhered to it herself. The Temple Mothers saw her as a hero, despite the fact she was formerly a Jedi and the general consensus among the Hapan people on any given world was not in favour of the Jedi Order. It is believed her exile status and loyalty to the people she liberated gave her this exception. She was declared a saint within a decade of her union with the Force in C.Y. 50.

The Palace of Saint Clavelle now stands where the Exile's modest home was built. The Duchal Residence pays homage to her by name and honours her with a statue made in her image and a memorial plaque praising her heroism. Her bloodline remains strong to this day.
