SPECIAL FEATURES:
Strengths:
  • Great point-defense
  • Great long-range firepower
  • Ability to penetrate interdiction fields
Weaknesses:
  • Large target from topside or underside
  • Very slow and ponderous
  • Target: Because of its purpose, losing a Palace of Justice in battle can likely result in the loss of fleet-wide coordination
  • Rapid-fire turbolasers can only be effectively fired within half a standard turbolaser range
  • Rapid-fire ion cannons can drain the shields if fired too often
Description: It was quickly found that the lead ship, the Palace of Justice, ran in logistical issues specifically in relation to its cap drains and ERA, so it was decided in subsequent units of the class to have these items removed. However, these are the only major changes to the Palace of Justice: it otherwise maintains most of its operating characteristics, with all the weaknesses that it entails, such as those induced by its weapons and its sheer size. In addition, the consequences of losing a Palace of Justice in battle can be severe: it can spell command-and-control trouble in the theater a Palace of Justice is posted in, and loss of coordination can ensue in that case. Of course, a supercarrier will never be seen operating without some escort elements, so in a battle where a Palace of Justice is deployed, it will be usually be perceived as a really big battle to actually get a faction to deploy one on a battlefield, or a situation where power projection is key, but most of the time, a Palace of Justice will be patrolling internal space or be berthed.
