Amorella Shamalain's Apartment
Byblos

The lock to the front door clicked open once the requisite code was entered into the keypad just to the right of the door frame. Light from the corridor spilled into the otherwise dark apartment, casting Cameron's large, motionless silhouette across the threshold. For several moments, bright, silver-green eyes slowly tracked from left to right. The Sith Lord could feel the cool air of the apartment come rushing out to the lower pressure warm air of the corridor.

Following a slow, deep inhale and a similar exhale, Cameron allowed himself to cross the threshold. He'd taken only two steps before the door slid shut behind him with a soft hiss. A wave of the Sith's hand activated some of the interior lighting, revealing that the apartment remained...precisely as he remembered. It had been months now...months since he'd attempted to maintain Amorella's essence by transferring it into a new vessel. It had been foolish...even arrogant of him to think he could succeed, no matter how many relics he'd used to increase his power and affinity for the technique. The fact he had transferred his own essence on multiple occasions seemed completely irrelevant now. In fact...the sum quantity of all his experiences and talents seemed to matter preciously little.

As Cameron made his way towards the living room, allowing his senses to drink in the linger feel and scent of his beloved, a thought occurred to him. This was why they considered attachments to be a weakness. Yes, Cameron had 'loved' plenty of women, but he had never dedicated his entire being, a part of his soul to one until Amorella. When she'd seemingly slipped from existence, it was as if a part of him went too. He wouldn't describe it as death...not nearly that painful. Initially, the Sith Lord had thought that maybe, just maybe, it had meant she was not really a weakness...a piece of him. However, his dreams as of late had sparked the revival of an old hope...something he'd pushed to the pit of his soul because it had been easier to convince himself that Amorella had never meant that much...than to accept he may very well have destroyed their connection forever.

Today, however, Cameron would confront his one and only true fear. The entire situation was reminiscent of when she'd been cast from much of the known galaxy by, go figure, his actions. Those were the days of the Crusade. The very beginnings of their connection.

Taking a seat on the floor, the Sith Lord crossed his legs and closed his eyes. Following a deep exhale, he allowed his metaphysical being to merge completely into the currents of the Force. For a time, he allowed himself to merely drift, slowly expanding his presence further and further. In order to do this effectively, Cameron drew on energy from every living organism that he touched. In this regard, he could feel the vitality of said beings weakening steadily, dying as he groped through the aura of the Force. It mattered not to Cameron. He would allow an entire society to die if it helped him to find that which he needed most in his life.

...though he wondered if it was more for the selfish reason of keeping himself whole than something as insipidly ambiguous as...love...
