Padawan Training

Damon had reported to a training room in the jedi temple at the request of his master A'donari. His heart was filled with anxiousness for his masters arrival and the beginning of his long journey down the path of the jedi. He knew that the journey would be a long and arduous one, but with the weight of his parents death and the determination to rid the galaxy of evil he had more than enough will to complete it.

A'donari thought back to the time when he himself had waited to meet Master Ben. He couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness and longing for the days that had followed. Being beside the esteemed Ben Watts had been everything he had ever dreamed having a Master would be. The Jedi Master had reshaped him into the man who walked through the hall towards the training grounds that very day.

He moved through towards the young human boy who was waiting for him. A boy who from what he had heard and learned was the best of his class but brash. The jedi teachers at the temple had informed him of the boys continuous dissatisfaction of himself. It was a story he knew first hand and why he wanted to train the young man right away bar what his teachers had instructed.

As he approached A'donari could see the same nerves were coursing through the young boy that had been within himself not to long ago. Speaking with a smile A'donari addressed his first padawan ever for the first time, "Damon Kurasaki. I am Jedi Knight A'donari Cinn. I will be your master." he said hearing the same words leave his lips that he remembered Ben saying to him.

"Now I have this hollow pad here that tells me a bunch of stuff about you being the best of your class and someone worth training but who isn't ready. Honestly I don't believe any of my authority figures would be pleased that I shared that information with you. So I shouldn't have let that slip... Oh well. I don't believe in trusting anyone else's judgement's but my own. So I'm going to give you the chance that I never had as a youngling." he said while moving past the seated boy towards a more spacious area of the practice arena.

He remembered back to his first day of training and how boring it had all seemed so A'donari decided on a different path. Without giving him any warning A'donari lifted the boy by the foot tossing him into the air with the force while simultaneously launching a weighted sphere used for practicing the force push from across the room to where Damon would be winding up seconds before he hit the floor.

Damon was taken aback. First, his new master had just informed him that none of their superiors believed he was ready for this training. In the same moment, his master instilled a great sense of belief in him by saying that he didn't take their words into account. A flurry of emotions were rushing through Damon's mind and he was more determined than ever to accomplish what he came here to do. He would become a jedi and prove everyone wrong about him.

Suddenly and without any warning, A'donari had wrapped his ankle in the force and thrown him through the air. "What in the world is going on here?" Damon thought to himself. He did not know what to think. Here he was thinking his master already had great respect and belief in him and now he was hurdling through the air.

Collecting himself, Damon noticed a large weighted sphere flying towards him, and he realized what his master was doing. "So getting started right off the bat eh?! I like your test, now allow me to show you my abilities," Damon shouted to his master from across the room. While flying towards the ground at great speed, Damon began to channel the force throughout his body. He used a slight burst of force push to ease his landing and with all his might raised his arms to the sphere and managed to stop it mere inches away from him.

The sphere dropped to the ground with a thunderous thud as he was only able to stop the sphere and not repel it. Damon then looked over to his master gasping for breath and stated, "how was that for someone who is not ready to be trained in the noble jedi arts?"

"No, You are not yet ready." A'donari said while moving over to his padawan. Taking a cross legged position in front of Damon he unsheathed his lightsaber to use in the lesson. Staring at it he let go to show Damon what he expected from the young man. Connecting to the force was like returning home.
"Focus on my weapon and allow yourself to sink into the force. Find the feeling within yourself that you just manipulated."
