Padawan Pack - any takers?

It occurred to me there are fewer Padawans on the boards compared to the way it used to be, so finding fellow apprentices within Faction is getting harder and harder.

But why is that important? Because being a Padawan is fun, and telling stories with fellow Padawans is even more fun.

So I'm looking for anyone interested in writing stories - could be a crystal hunt, or a low-level mission, or talking about the Force or the Code, or anything really. And they need to be light-sided ideally. No Sith or Dark Jedi for this particular group (although I might look to start one up with my Sith Acoylte - an Acoylte Pack sounds like fun).

Why a Padawan Pack? There are a few reasons I can think of quickly...

IC:
1. A chance to forge relationships between Factions and Jedi Orders
2. A chance to forge relationships between individual Jedi

OOC:
1. More story opportunities
2. A chance to be a Padawan and do the sort of naive things Padawans do
3. A ready-made group of writing partners
4. A chance to forge an OOC relationship for future stories and characters
5. The opportunity to practise Jedi-like stuff in a safe environment e.g. combat

The Padawan Pack idea, and threads are always fun to have. We've done a few with the Padawans in the SJO before and they've always been a blast.

Creating more links between the LS factions we have around, especially the Jedi in them is never going to be a bad thing. I can't promise to always be available between work, other threads and stuff but the idea is an interesting one and I'm happy to thread with other Padawans out there

Good to have you on-board. I'll leave this up for a few days and see what interest it generates, rather than start a story too soon. And the whole idea will be plenty of opportunities to participate - some people will have time for/will be interested in and some you won't.

It's all now down to personal choice - seems more people just want to jump into a Knight / Master role with a ready made history, ability specturum and story.

It's nice to see those choosing to start from the ground up as Padawans/Acolytes wanting to really explore the character and the journey they take. There's certainly no rush or expectation to become "Master" or "Lord" in my eyes just to feel you have more power.

I'll be happy to help where possible, as well as my brilliant SJO Padawans above.

[member="Lilla Syrin"] Padawaananan, also what Swail said, these day people just want to jump to Sith lord right away and not bother making a good story and make friends.

In my option being a Padawan allow for people to get to know you, make friends and acutally have a reason to rp them, so a Padawan pack is always good.

Had a similar idea, [member="Boo Heavenshield"] and I were going to get on with it but I've been full-time study and what not. Still intent on going ahead with it when I have the time but it's not purely lightsided, more just for all the younglings and teens of Chaos.

Also, Jubei is not a teddy bear.

I'd be interested, though Ultimatum is only just stepping into the doorstep of Force users. If you would be willing to have him, he may yet learn to follow the Jedi philosophy, or he may become very interested in it at the very least.

Wow...more interest than I could have imagined - so delighted with that.

I'll put a thread up in the next 24 hours. Given a crystal hunt has been mentioned specifically, that's what it can be. It allows us to meet/bond and also do our own thing if we wish.

The idea of non-Padawans joining in works for me, so why not. The addition of DS antagonists is an excellent one, and I think the second thread ought to introduce characters that might end up being thorns at best and nemesis at worst - so I'll make sure I keep you 'naughty' Force-sensitives in mind once the first thread has concluded.
