"Padawan I'll make an Althaiophobic out of you."

She looked at the equipment with a look on her face when she held it and turned it around. "Alright." She was moving with her glow rod and the equipment. The map that was being created allowed her to check out some parts of it. The stone work as they went deeper became metal, reflective silver that illuminated the lights reflecting the light around. SMall slivers of crystal danced and glowed with the force as the walls vibrated with power and she was looking at a viewport. Massive and it wrapped looking out into a cavern. Thick shadows but there were dots of machinery from the glow of the crystals. THe jedi master set the scanner and there was nothing to get into there and ping it to scan... instead she pinged the hall ways that wrapped around finding they went on and deeper. THe scans for the power lines let her follow some of it around with a nod towards her padawan.

Vinnon followed her master, noting possible dangerous spots where another collapse could happen if they weren't careful. Anytime there was a split in the power lines, she carefully inspected them and pointed her master down the original line, the one that would have been drawing power first. Any splits they could check out later, or note for someone else. They had their own mission here for now. She could feel her arms growing tired from carrying the equipment, but she wasn't going to let a small amount amount of fatigue slow her down, not yet.

Wu looked at her padawan when they came to fork in the tunnels and had gone through following the line as it came out into the massive chamber. Wu could feel a breeze swirling around as her scarf was floating up. "THe gravity is less here." She said it but was looking around while she crouched watching her scarf float there. She peered out and tossed the glow rod when it floated across and she could see mining equipment. The crackling energy from a shield along the top as she looked over at it and pointed. "The shiled might be holding the top up, the way it is... hmmm I am looking at this as a means to hide something bigger if you really wanted to hide." She tried to imagine what could have been here... a species long dead throughout the building that might have been doing something here.... she looked towards her padawan. "A little imagination.. if you were here where would you have something of a lightsource?"

Vinnon rubbed her chin as she contemplated her masters question.

"That depends on a lot of things we don't know. For instance if the builders were like Umbarans, I would place lights that only release UV light invisible to the majority of species on the galaxy. Force them to rely on either building their own structure, or other assistance. Well, I say builders, in this case int's more the diggers and explores. Given that, I'd probably integrate them directly on, or following the power line, so you can follow the lights as much as you can follow the line."

Vinnon wasn't entirely confident in this, because there were a ton of factors she didn't know about. She looked around a bit. If the lights weren't on either they were disconnected, broken, or purposely turned off.

A nod ot that there were many factors they didn't know but her padawan was thinking about it. If the species itself could see in a different spectrum of light they might have made the lights functional for them and it could work as a security weapon. Anyone trying to sneak their way through could end up alerting them instead or be plainly visible. She remained where she was looking down at the area they were in and had her grapple attaching it to the platform they were in. The glow rod had lost momentum and was slowed but slowly drifting down some ways out to give them an idea where and how far out they were. "We'll seen what there is... maybe they are off or a different spectrum... just just hope they are not like miraluka and blind to physical sight. While their temples can be traversed and look decent it is also made for them with wide open spaces and only natural lighting."

Vinnon continued tracing the power line till she found a small box attached to it. Forcing it open, she inspected the inside and retrieved her tools, fiddling with old wiring, and rigging together something that would work for now. After a few minutes, she pulled the switch inside, and some lights flickered on, illuminating the area around them.

"I'm not sure how far this box will light up, but we have light here for now. With the state of the wiring inside, it was probably added on later. Everything we
we've seen up till now tells us the original build was probably meant to endure the sands of time much better than what that box did."

She had to agree. "Yeah this was built to last and whoever came here wasn't as advanced." She was moving and slowly going down lower with the gravity as they moved. Looking up and then down as the air changed, shifting and becoming warmer but she stood there seeing the platform. It rounded and looked down towards molten metals and much more heat. Taps were set in it cooling the geothermal sections but only to make it not sear their flesh. THe jedi master was looking at the lights though and there wasn't much information except a few datapads that were on the ground. She could read the basic with a nod of her head. "Ah well looks like they found the planet on a survey and couldn't leave so they set about trying to figure out how to turn the nullification wave off."

[member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"]

"Well the simplest way would probably have been just destroying the power source, starship fuel would have worked so long as they had some to spare. I'd rather not destroy the technology, but if we can't find a way to shut it down, we may have to do exactly that."

Vinnon wasn't exactly happy about either option, one contained many unknown dangers, and the other...well destroying rare technology like that was unpalatable, to say the least. She followed her master carefully, not wanting to slip and fall, which could easily kill her with where they were. She looked down at the taps, and scratched her head, trying to put together an idea of just how this place was put together and laid out.

[member="Vinnon Varuut"]

She was in agreement with her... destroying the technology like this would be... well wasteful in some ways but if they couldn't shut it down it wouldn't do them much good to keep it around. Hard to report and let people know if they were stranded. "We'll see, I would prefer we shut it down and bring in teams but I know sometimes things like this it is safer to dismantle and disable them." She kept going forward and allowing the force to guide her as there seemed to be more light appearing, some crates and datapads that had been preserved this far down. She was looking over them and could see more in terms of directions for the device. "It is somewhat more clear, they were working to learn the language and seems they figured out the power systems as well as what it doesn't do. The device uses the core of the planet to power an interdiciton field that covers the entire system."

[member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"]

"Here's the thing, even if the core is powering it, you sever the power cables, or turn it off the field will fade. Problem is, something of that scale....I doubt this is the only tap. It'd have redundancies, and I'd bet it uses the poles of the planet to actually project the field, this is more to regulate the field. I can't be certain, not without schematics and knowing their language, but it'd be less prone to failure by dispersing critical equipment. No doubt there'd be secondaries to."

Vinnon was at least partially theorizing out loud as she looked over the the device. While this could be the heart, she'd bet her legs on there being back ups and fail safes in case something ever failed here. Geological time and process tended to wear at machines, and earthquakes and volcanoes were unpredictable, sometimes occurring even in the middle of a continental plate.

[member="Vinnon Varuut"]

She nodded in agreement with her.. something this massive, something this dangerous was likely to have something of a backup ot a means to keep it on but it should also have a way to turn it off safely... shutdown might take a little longer then just destroying it but destroying it could be a lot more dangerous and unpredictable. "Perhaps... we don't have all of the information... only a few ideas but if we can shut it off or at least go through it all enough to not kill ourselves or be trapped here... then we should be able to improve our odds." Wu was looking at the datapad and deciphering the language for herself if she could. She was a jedi diplomat usually so this was an important aspect before with learning the language. "I'll spend some time looking this over, see what you might be able to find like other datapads or consoles."

Vinnon knelt down to examine something closer to the floor, before continuing her trace of the power line. She scratched at her head in contemplation, whatever this was it was incredibly complex. She wondered if it worked on the same principle as the gravity wells Interdiction ships used to pull ships from hyperspace. That got her thinking. She moved over to her master, and picked up one of the other data pads, as well as retrieving her own sensor pack. If her newest theory was correct, they could leave without disabling the system at all. It needed some testing though, for one thing it didn't explain the lack of communication, and for another the pull out of hyperspace was abrupt, this seemed more to prevent a ship from entering. That would mean...that would mean the same technology blocking communication was blocking hyperspace, they worked on the same principle, one was just energy in hyperspace instead of ships. She tapped her chin in thought, and moved back to take a seat, thinking.

"Master, I have a theory. Whatever is blocking hyperspace and hyperwave communications is working off the same technology. They're prevent access to hyperspace entirely, likely by interfering with the ability of hyperdrives and transmittors to make the transition from real space to hyperspace. If it is using the planets poles, it would need to be either in the core of the planet, or have emitters at both poles. Taking down one emitter would either greatly weaken, or stop the field."

She'd gotten somewhat off topic, rambled a little, but her thought process was all there, as well as her theory. If they were near the equator, then this facility very well could be the one that was powering everything, but she suspected there were power plants all over the planet, and the loss of one would only weaken the field a little. No, they would need to shut it off from either the central command, or at least one emitter. Like how shields had emitters, and if those were shut off, nothing else would make the shield form. Whether the shield had gaps or was weakened depended on the design and number of emitters, but that was a different problem entirely. The magnetic field of a planet did project far beyond it's atmosphere, and in a bubble shaped by stellar winds form it's host star. If it was using the poles, that would cover a large area of space, and possibly even be carried by said stellar winds after they made impact with the bubble. Of course, it could be something the permeated, like a signal, but Vinnon doubted a simple signal could shut down hyperwave transmitters and hyperdrives.

"I see our only options being either shutting down one or both emitters, assuming the pole theory is correct, or finding central control. That doesn't tell us who made this place or why, but it does allow us to leave, and traffic to come through this system safely."

Looking at her padawan as she listened to her theory and the idea was sound. Wu contemplated it as she tapped her chin in thought while she was looking at the datacards and then back to her padawan. "We'll try for the obvious solution which is a central command and try to figure out any and all informatio that we can. I don't want to destroy this if it is possible but it can also be a dangerous hazard for the unsuspecting. If communication and travel are a risk here then who knows how many missing people throughout the years could have simply tried to explore here." She said it and was walking now gathering all of the information for them to review and using the wrist datapad to download what there was and try to get it out for them to be able to read. She was moving and through the area it was mostly decently lit with strewn equipment for mapping andsome older food rations. She was able to get some ideas of what had happened here. "Now one of the big questios is assumig this can prevent hyperspace travel and communications, we know it isn't perfect. Ships have been able to get into the field or whatever it is so maybe it is stuttering like a shield that has been kept on for centuries eventually the power starts to fail."

"Well, if my theory of how it does it is correct, which it is more just a guess at this point, it only prevents one from entering hyperspace, not moving through in it. We'll need to study this place to know more. As for the control room well...the only way I see of finding it is to keep following the power lines."

Vinnon pushed back to her feet, the cybernetics making a much louder thud than any organic foot for a being her size would make. She knew the controls weren't back the way they came, so glancing back up at the lines, she started following them. She raised her sensor pack up to the line as she walked, using her height to get a good read. She was trying to find out if the line was one power conduit, or contained multiple smaller lines that would split somewhere down the line. All things considered, it was probably one, and if they found other lines, it'd be the line that was converging that would lead them to central. As she started to get out of sight of her master, though she could still easily locate her with the force, she stopped, and looked down at the sensor pack, studying the results before turning and looking to see if her master was following. Impatience was perhaps one of Vinnon's worst qualities, so while she waited she crouched low a hand running over the surface of the wall, as if seeing how weathered it had become, if at all.

Wu had lagged behind but the search for the control center was going to be a marathon not a sprint as they were technically possibly going to be having to search the entire planet. The output where the device went was likely known but the control room could be anywhere on the world itself. She was looking at the walls and moving a little slower but the lines were more preserved this deep into the planet. Which was helpful and they had been built for function raher then look as they seemed to be operating still if the small tingle in the back of her mind was anything to go for the current. Junko saw her padawan and moved to catch up with her as she held a glow rod up and was looking over some parts. The cables remaining thicker as the tunnels shifted more into a shaft and it was more someting a droid would go into then a person where she could crawl through crouched with her smaller stature. "This way."

[member="Wu Yeoh-Mei"]

Vinnon eyed the tunnel and sighed. She was fairly tall, even by Umbaran standards, and her legs didn't bend or squish the same way organic ones did. No, they were wire and metal, not flesh and bone. She stopped to look back the way the came, searching for any possible sign that she'd missed some hidden panel or door. She would have no such luck. She sighed and made sure all her belt, before getting low to follow after her master. This she did know how to do, if you worked on anything mechanical, at some point you were going to have to scrunch up and fit into a small space. Didn't mean Vinnon had to like it, it was uncomfortable, though at least she would never have to deal with the problem of protesting legs or knees.

Wu was moving and as it got tighter she was glad to be small and her padawan was looking as Wu was on her back and scooting through using her hands to pull her through until she came out with a nod of her head. "it is going to get tighter but there are grips to pull yourself and it started to open up." She could see the wires and was checking it as she moved onto her stomach inching forward with each foot and felt the wires against her back. The light ahead and the sound of power buzzing and vibrating came to her... the brightness stung her eyes after being in the darker tunnels for the moment until she pulled herself out and rolled to get up and make some room. The wires had led into a massive chamber and there were more all around the chamber coming and the the humming was loud as below and above different platforms rotated around.
