"Padawan I'll make an Althaiophobic out of you."

[member="Vinnon Varuut"]

Wu had found something of a success with Sukai.. her padawan was skilled already and talented. They had learned a great deal and after everything with her mother.. well she had learned a few choice secrets from Kurenai about Sukai... secrets that were hers alone to know and have. The other thing was she stood there in the skylar robes, sleek, form fitted and designed so that the Jin jedi master can work out without hurting herself or others when she moved around the training room here on the rest. her personal ship, a yacht was designed with a state of the art training room as well as a diplomatic suite of systems..... THe other things were just as impressive but it paled next to what she wanted to do with it if they could. The ship was made based off of the ancient Jade's Shadow and so she wanted to honor it. Wu also had a few other ideas of things that she might be able to do with improved results. "Well hopefuly this new padawan will like it." She nodded and moved into the kitchen of her ship to start making some food while she prepared the water and the rice.

Vinnon was more excited than she could really express in words. It had been over a year since the last time anyone had bothered to give her any real amount of training. She was starting to fear she'd be stuck as a Padawan Learner for forever, or worse, expelled from the order for failing to complete her training. In fact, due to her excitement, she had checked the circuitry in her legs three...no four times since she had been told that she had been selected by a Master. It wasn't even uncomfortable for her to remove her legs anymore, it had taken her a few years to get used to that though. That said, the act of reattaching her legs was still a tad uncomfortable. Getting the nerves to resync with the implants always stung, and she doubted that it would ever go away, after all, it was her nerves connecting to the cybernetics so she could feel through them, and control them. Checking the time once again, Vinnon realized she was running late. Hopping to her feet, she grabbed the last of her stuff, before turning and leaving her small room, hopefully for the last time.

Everything Vinnon owned was now in a bag on her back, and she had to admit she was just as nervous as she was excited. With one final breath, she took the first step into what she hoped would be the first leg of her journey to Knighthood. It didn't take her long to make it to where her new masters ship was docked. She hesitated, a flicker of fear inside of her kept her from taking another step.

What if she rejects me like everyone else? Will she be another person to say I'm to frail, to fragile? What if this is my last chance, I can't muck it up here....

After a moment, Vinnon shook her head and shooed the ill-welcome thoughts away. Centering herself, she took her first step onto the boarding ramp of the yacht before her. Her metal foot clunked loudly, and she realized she hadn't put her shoes back on after checking her legs....they were in her backpack. With a small curse muttered under her breath, Vinnon stopped, and slipped on her shoes, she wanted to make a good first impression after all. She did a quick once over, straightening her clothes, making sure her hair was neat, that her lightsaber was at her side, and finally that that her backpack was properly shut. Oh! She couldn't forget, Vinnon made sure that her bracelet was hidden under her robes. While it had never been taken away from her, she had gotten plenty of disapproving glances about keeping such a personal object from before her time in the order.

It's said you only get one first impression, and Vinnon wasn't going to risk this one. She boarded the ship, and searched for her master. She needed to know where to put her things, and wanted to know exactly who her new master was. It didn't take Vinnon long to find her new master, and she had to stop for a second, she quite literally towered over her new master. With a purely mental shake, she moved past that, she had seen masters even shorter than that before, but what was truly disheartening was that her new master didn't look more than seven years, if even that, older than Vinnon. With a small gulp, and a breath, Vinnon spoke.

"Padawan Vinnon Varuut reporting ma'am."

Wu looked up from where she was cooking, preparing everything and she offered a grin on her face. The kitchen of the ship was small, made for herself or the droids to use more then anything. "Welcome." She was looking at her padawan though and had a wider grin on her face holding a spook up that became two spoons. She took a small scoop of the stock and brought it up. "Try this." She sipped her spoon tasting the herbs and spices, the beef itself with a small bit of the barley. Then gave a nod. "Some food for afterwards." Wu started looking over the girl and noted a few things in her mind but she didn't say much just nodded her head. "Ready to go, this has to cook for a few more hours and then can add the meats and veggies." She wanted to thicken it up and have something delicious to eat afterwards. Going into the sections of the ship for training rooms. "Welcome to my ship."

Vinnon blinked more than once in the short exchange with her master. Of course she would be chosen by one of the more....eccentric masters, not that she was really complaining. She followed dutifully behind her new master, and kept her head bowed. Nervous, and excited as she was, she couldn't forget her place. She as a Padawan, she still had much to learn, and she had finally been chosen by a master. What was she to do but show her respect. When Wu Yeoh talked once more, Vinnon raised her head, and after a moment, responded.

"It's an honor to be here master."

There was a twang of mild disgust inside her as she spoke, Vinnon wasn't usually one to be so formal, but she was starting to get desperate, so she'd do whatever it took to advance. That said, she was curious, the ship seemed well equipped to her eyes, and it seemed as though her new master already had a plan for her. What that plan was though, Vinnon could only begin to guess. Still, she wanted to make sure this master liked her, so she held her tongue, despite brimming with questions. At the forefront of them all was the question of why did she pick Vinnon? Why now and why not sooner? These questions Vinnon would likely never know the answer to, but that didn't change her wanting them.

Wu looked at the padawan and she had a look on her face curious about the girl.... but she wasn't going to say anything. She wanted to learn about her but the best way was to learn by doing and showing instead of her just sitting the girl down and shooting her with marshmallows... that would get her talking to stop the things from sticking to her face. "Well come this way these will be your quarters." She opened the door to reveal the modular bunk, gel memory material that would provide the ultimate in comfort and massage away with cooling gel that regulated itself to sooth aching muscles and bones after training. A section that was for growing, cloing and making food or water as well as some oxygen they could use to stay safe. Fresher alcove with an ultrasonic shower and space for their equipment. It was like a mini house in the smallest area but this was just a room now before she smiled. "Come come, I am across from you should you need anything and there is a skylar training suit within. Great in case you sweat."

Vinnon looked around her room with awe on her face, plain and unsuppressed. The room was luxurious, at least by any standards Vinnon had ever had to compare it to. She sat her pack down on the floor by the bed, and ran her hand on the material of the bed.

"Master, I....I....I don't know what to say....thank you."

It was all she could get out, considering the circumstances. The room was more than she had ever had before, and she didn't know if she even deserved to stay in a room as comfortable as this, let alone have a master that provided such things. She moved around the room, inspecting everything, though she didn't activate anything, and as she did so, her awe only grew. She didn't know how hard she would have to work, and train to pay her master back for providing such a thing for her, but she was determined to give it her best shot, even if it killed her.

The look on her padawans face was great enough to tell her that she had dun good for this one.. At least she seemed to like her room and the ship... and hopefully her. Wu didn't have much on the ship itself but she had a fair amount that could be used to help them out. A few ideas here and there when entering the training room and it was big with droids for teaching and a case with her special equipment for teaching her padawans. Wu stood there and had the work out robes that would help with the heat and sweat but also allow her to move comfortably as she walked. "ALright, fiund a place and relax, stretch out and loosen up, we'll head off towards one fo the farther temples to explore and you can practice your skills there in the field."

"Yes master."

I sound like a broken record, master this, master that. Eugh, can't wait till I've been with her longer and can talk like a normal person.

Vinnon promptly found herself a nice spot close to one of the walls, keeping her back to the wall as she did some basic stretches with her arms and back, obviously she didn't bother with stretching her legs, aside from some basic hip stretches, before she settled in to mediate. This time she wasn't meditating to experience a deeper connection with the force, she was sticking to the more basic technique of centering her thoughts, and calming her emotions. While she lacked many practical skills or experience, she was adept with the force, and had spent much time meditating, and found it relatively easy to relax and begin to calm down. Of course, knowing herself, she knew this effect wouldn't last long, she had strong, visceral emotions that ran deep and wild, much to her and her previous masters chagrin.

She looked at the padawan and stretched out while she was standing there her leg going backwards and she touched her ankle with a look. Then went to the other leg as she felt her legs and muscles. She felt them loosening up with a grin on her face while she moved her hair out of the way. She rolled her shoulders and moved her head with a nod of her head as she was ready. Her saber was on her hip and she slipped under her cloak the training aids before she crossed her arms across her chest as she looked up at her. "Alright padawan Varuut, when you are ready to begin we can. I want to learn about you... this way I can learn the best way to train you."

Vinnon took a few more deep breaths, and finished centering herself. She did not respond immediately to her master, instead, focusing on preparing herself. After a moment, she opened her eyes, and rose to her feet. She tightened her sash, and drew extra ribbons from within it, using them to bind her sleeves to her wrists, getting rid of the loose cloth that could prove a detriment in time. Finally, she turned and faced her master. After double checking her hair to make sure it would remain in place, she took one last breath, and then answered.

"Master, I am ready."

Wu stepped forward and looked at her padawan as the girl was prepared to begin. A grin forming on her lips though when she got closer and looked up and up and up at her.. She realy was a tall one... going to make it more interesting or well at least she was going to have to work and make her stronger... she was tall.. that meant she had some muscles and that could mean some piggybac k rides though the jungle to see it. "Alright then we shal begin, the first lesson is that my name is Wu and while I am your master. I hope you will be a friend. Willing to share with me your problems and burden padawan." She said it and poked at what would have been her shoulder but she was small so her stomach lightly to make the point come across. "So tel me about yourself, I'll tell you about myself and we'll do the lesson."

Vinnon exhaled slowly, and then spoke, choosing her words carefully.

"My name is Vinnon Varuut, and I grew up on Umbara. I was taken in by the order when I was seven after a tragedy revealed my force sensitivity. As part of my joining, they replaced my useless legs with cybernetic replacements. Since then, I have lived in and dedicated myself to the order, where I have slanted my studies towards the force and away from more physical pursuits. I've been abandoned by several masters for different reasons, and now you are the next to try and teach me."

Vinnon was glad she had meditated beforehand, even if it was only short, because otherwise her resentment, and worry probably would have been overpowering as she spoke. She looked down at her new master, studying her to see her reaction, and awaiting her response.

She was looking at her and listening to it... unsure about a few things but they should be able to work past it. When the jedi master stood there and looked up she was curious about what she could do. If the jedi masters had failed her and such there would have to be records of it and reasons why. So that she might better be able to. "Well we'll just have to work on that then won't we." She offered her a smile though while looking up with a couple of ideas. "So we'll begin with a blank slate, back to basics as it were for you. The force isn't about lifting rocks it is about looking really really cool while you lift said rocks.... no that isn't right. It is about feeling the galaxy."

"It surrounds everything, it is everything. While it is felt most strongly in living things, all things are part of the force, and all things hold both light and dark within them. It is more than a tool, it binds all living things together. Threw it we can, eventually, connect with, and understand all things, even if some things are harder than others."

Vinnon said while looking down at her master. The Force, the Force Vinnon knew, at least better than most Padwans, even if it didn't compare much to a master. She knew the force, and this was the part of every new master she disliked the most. None of them knew her, and knew what she did and didn't know, so they had to treat her as if she was a fresh faced padawan, so they knew where to begin.

Wu gave a nod and that was perfect. "Good good, you ahve went through this before and I am sorry. if you want to tel me what you have been trained in I can check a few boxes off padawan. I want this to be mutual between the two of us." She offered her a look while she was moving around her. "Just calm your mind and body and let yourself drift off, feel the force and allow it to enter yourself and try not to think about...." She made a point and looked at her. "The large spiders that sometimes sneak onto this ship and like to sneak down and go into long hair of taller people." She said it with a straight face though looking at her until she was moving around hoping she would take the ice breaker.

Vinnon let out a small snicker of amusement, before returning to a more passive face, she didn't want to get her hopes up this early into meeting her first master. That said, a sense of humor was greatly appreciated.

"My practical training has been spotty, and incomplete, a patchwork if you will. I know the very basics of lightsaber stances, but even most padawans with half my training time know more than I do there. On the other hand, my training with the force, particularly healing, and defensive techniques, is better than most padawans, and perhaps some Knights, all things considered. Likewise, I have good grasps of history, philosophy, and mechanics for various different reasons and from different masters. To put it bluntly, I lack many practical skills, but have many theoretical or passive skills trained. There's always more to learn yes, but you need to be at a basic level in many things before they'll even consider graduating you from Padawan, and my training is to spotty to even be considered."

Hmm she was listening to her but didn't say anything just looked the monsterously tall girl over while she thought about it. "I was much the same way, I did most of my learning in the temples and served in the diplomatic corps of the jedi. Eventually finding a place exploring and talking with new people that are discovered." She moved though and showed her hand. "It is alright though padawan, don't be in such a rush to graduate and be promoted that you lose sight of what the jedi do. We learn, we train and we try to help the galaxy. THat is what we are going to work on and your skills will improve just ask questions, learn everything and don't be afraid to look a little dumb by not knowing somehing."

"Yes Master."

Vinnon said with a bow of her head. She still honestly had no clue about what would, for good or ill, likely be her last master, but she did know that this was still a fair sight better than anything else she had happen to her in the past few months, maybe years. So knew she would work hard, and do everything in her power to learn anything and everything her master was willing to teach her. She straightened her head, and stifled a slight cough, not wanting to be rude.

Wu looked at her as she gave a nod of her head and stood there at her padawans side. "By the way you are a tall woman... just saying you should see someone about that. Towering over your master, people are going to think I am your daughter or something not your jedi master.... Totally going to ruin the moment." She said it and meant it as a joke but had produced a small idea for herself. Kneeling down to meditate while she motioned for the padawan to join her and do the same... At least if she was sitting down Wu could be on her knees and might not look as small. She closed her eyes to watch her with the force as her hands went to her side to focus the force energies around herself.

Vinnon smiled slightly at the joke.

"I'm really not that tall, my mother was even taller than me."

After that, she sat on the ground, crossing her legs, and closing her eyes. She didn't fully know why they were suddenly meditating, but she was going to do what her master asked, for now at least. She knew she had a stubborn streak, was probably one of the reasons she hadn't yet been promoted. She relaxed as she slowed her breathing, steadying it's pace. Meditating at the very least was usually easy for her...usually. There were times she found it difficult, namely when she was particularly agitated or excited, but this was not that time.
