SPECIAL FEATURES
- The assault rifle is outfitted with standard 5.56 MM rounds, capable of dealing significant damage when used by an effective holder.
- The gun's main feature is its ability to deploy a stun charge should it be necessary, although this is limited in its deployment that it is single fire, only one charge can be loaded in the gun at a time.
- To the right hand side is a small torchlight modification which can be flicked out and in as the user desires. It runs solely on a very small solar panel attached to enable 24/7 functionality. It is not enough to light up a room, but enough to enable the user to see what is in front of them in a darkened area
The weapon's stun cartridge is powerful enough to incapacitate any human creature weighing less than 300 pounds and rendering them limp for at least 30 seconds, with its effectiveness being determined by weight and other factors such as the target's susceptibility to electricity, their height, where the cartridge landed.
The actual round itself briefly creates wires attaching from the weapon to individual to deliver the charge, and as soon as its been expended the wires quickly return to the weapon's under-casing where the prongs are shot out from. If the round fails to connect within 5 meters this is also done, with this feature of the weapon having an effective range of 5 meters directly infront of the shooter.
It should be noted however, the weapon has little to no effect on mechanical creatures, and very large biological targets may also be unaffected; due to sheer size.
Strengths:
- The weapon's stun prongs provide a good way to disable incoming attackers.
- It also has a decent rate of fire, able to keep up with even the most modern weapons
- Torchlight enables extra visibility should it be needed
- Stun prongs are ineffective against some targets
- The weapon has no real use outside of medium-close quarters combat
- Torchlight is only usable where there is daylight, with a 30 minute use after this
DESCRIPTION
The Correlian Arms company sought after creating a new firearm for the masses to use, but with added utility. Introduce the Pacifier assault rifle, a very basic and bare bones model of a standard ballistic weapon. The original variant itself didn't necessarily sell poorly, but the massive overstock of weapons meant a tool like this that should've costed around 2500 credits was being sold by independent retailers as low as 250 credits. Seeking to recover losses, a stock recall was issued and the new issue is outfitted with a Stun mechanism for added protection.
It was never really used large-scale in any meaningful conflict, but was the ruffians choice for detaining individuals and still posed a threat in most situations. With such an overabundance of weapons on the marketplace, the gun was mostly discontinued in all but one production line, which still produces the weapon at a very, very low rate.
The gun is necessarily not hard to obtain, but is just under-produced to an extent that it would be troublesome to find it in any major gun dealership.
As for its specifications, it is designed to be lightweight enough that it's not a burden to carry it. Surprisingly, many mercenaries in the galaxy carry the firearm as a secondary backup for this reason, along with its extra function. The only down-side is unlike dedicated stun weapons, this needs to be re-loaded with every use; meaning the first shot is often the only shot that will be fired out of this.
Finally, the weapon uses specifically designed cartridges in spherical shape, each carrying 60 5.56MM rounds, these are designed to be lighter than most ballistic weapons, but not really easy to store.
