Primary Source(s): P.I.R.S.O.C. Droids

PRODUCTION INFORMATION

Manufacturer: Visanj T’shkali
Affiliation: Closed-Market
Model: P.I.R.S.O.C. Collar and Tags
Modularity: No
Production: Semi-Unique
Material: Terentatek leather, durasteel, micro-circuitry, various components

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • While appearing as an ordinary leather dog’s collar, the presence of terentatek leather in the design ensures that the P.I.R.S.O.C. Droid unit is unaffected by Force-users’ abilities and makes detecting them through the Force very difficult for a single Force-user to do.
  • Radiation deflection badge located on the collar is scaled-down to offer up to 25 standard hours of protection to the droid’s systems against low and medium levels of radiation. Concealed as part of the droid’s identification tags, appearing like a veterinary alert tag worn alongside the standard identification tag, they must be replaced after each use.
  • Combat Deionizer built into collar offers protection against heavy EMP/Ion threats.
  • Locator Chip, concealed into the standard identification tag allows the droid to be monitored and tracked using specialized encrypted software uploaded into its handlers' datapad or similar devices.
STRENGTHS:
  • Looking just like any normal dog collar, the device offers enhanced protection to the droid from EMP/Ion and radiation threats, as well as close-quarters immunity to Force-users’ abilities.
  • Allows for the droid to be tracked if lost or stolen, or when working as in infiltration, search and rescue, or similar capacities.
  • Very difficult to remove, the collars use specially-designed locks, similar to those found in slaving collars.
  • Entire device is waterproof and resistant to abrasion, cutting, fading, and other usual wear and tear.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Offers no protection against blasters (or other plasma energy weapons), kinetic damage, or other threats than those specifically mentioned elsewhere in this submission.
  • Collars are difficult, though not impossible to remove, and a talented slicer or locksmith will be able to remove it quite easily.
  • Radiation deflection badges are single-use only and have only half the usage time as normal-sized versions, and offer no serious protection against highly radioactive heavy weapons or exposure.
DESCRIPTION

Appearing as a standard dog collar and identification / veterinary alert tags, they most always go unnoticed when worn about the necks of P.I.R.S.O.C. Droids, and even upon close inspection will fool most people easily. Difficult to remove, they offer notable protection for the droids against EMP/Ion and radiation threats and render them immune to close-by effects of Force-based powers and abilities. The locator chip, found concealed within the polished durateel identification tag, allows the droid to be remotely tracked by its handler, using encrypted software uploaded onto a datapad of similar device, enabling location and retrieval if lost or stolen.
