The journey was just beginning.

It had been many, many months since the Confederacy returned to the distant world of Roon. During that time, a hidden threat was ousted from underneath the very surface of the earth. However, beyond this, the nation left the world relatively untouched. For the head of the Knights Obsidian, this simply would not do - as the quiet world was once home to a bounty of power. Mere decades ago, another sect of Force wielders called this planet home. And, in the wake of their collapse, temples and untold boons had been left behind.

Thus had Rience set his face upon Roon, intention of claiming any and all which remained.

While the expedition would certainly be an opportunity for the man's ambitions to be further realized, it was also an opportunity to learn. Throughout recent history, the Force had seen fit to align the Lord Commander's path with a handful of others. Some were bound to him for many years - whilst others were fresh and new. In this case, Rience thought of [member="Myka"], [member="Tyra Fenn"], and [member="Alluria Ivalice"] as companions for this venture. For Myka, his one and only child, this was an opportunity to make up for lost time. There was no sum of expeditions that could make up for growing up without a father...but for her? Rience would surely try.

For Tyra and Alluria both, a solemn vow had been made. He promised that, under his tutelage, they would both bow to nothing. Thus, if there was a boon to be found on Roon, it was only right that his apprentices were there to share in it. In the moment, the Obsidian vessel that he had selected descended through the heavens at a thunderous pace. Based on orbital scans and what little records remained of the previous Force sect, Rience had selected a landing zone immediately adjacent to a shimmering lake.

When the engines finally lulled to silence and the ramp extended to the surface, the hour was twilight.

Rience led the way down the ramp and jutted his chin to a relatively flat span of earth between them and the shores of the lake. "We'll set up camp here and move on the citadel after we eat." he began, before turning to face his students. "Alluria. Myka. You're on firewood. Tyra, let's get these shelters up." He knew that, most likely, the question dancing through their heads was why not just sleep aboard the vessel? But, there would be times when returning to one's ship was not a luxury.

He would show them how to survive. Not only in the force, but amidst the wilderness as well.

With his direction given, Rience set about plucking the assembly rods from the pack on his back. A pair were tossed to the Echani in the meantime. "Stand them up like this..."

Myka slowly disembarked from the ship, the girl walking behind the group as she took the sight of the new planet in.

She tried not to gape, but the whole journey had been a series of firsts for her and for a moment-- this felt like a dream. She had left her post as a civil solider because he had asked her to. She had said goodbye to her mother, her planet, everything she had known, because he had extended a hand to her. He. The dead father that wasn't dead. His legacy was only, oh, the very reason she had chosen to be a soldier. So being around him... no big deal, right?

Hearing him address her still left her heart stuttering at times. She kept her sentimentals to herself and nodded silently at his order.

She gave [member="Alluria Ivalice"], a tight smile and jerked her chin to the left. She allowed the woman to catch pace with her before pushing any deeper into the trees. She took a small comfort from the that fact that the woods were something she was familiar with, and gathering firewood was child's play compared to what training she suspected might come next. She was unquestionably the youngest of the group. Back at home she had thought was well-trained. I mean how many other guards started learning to swing a sword at ten? Or pick up a gun at fourteen? Not that a sword had really ever been of use to her out on the field, but...

She took a deep breath, determined to find her footing amongst all this change.

"I'm Myka, by the way." She pulled back a branch, allowing them to both slip through a thick bout of bush without a scratch. Here the branches were began to grow thick. She bent down and bounced a pine cone in her hands before slipping it into the deep pockets of her cargo pants. "Good for kindling," she shrugged absently, trying to still a small bout of nerves. Would suck to not get along with ole paps friends.

"Have you known my-... R-Rience long?" She looked pained, unsure what to be calling him. Especially to his other... students?

Eek.

Summoned to accompany Rience, the woman found no purpose in turning it down. Though she did not know much of the other two, a journey like this would be a learning experience of its own in more ways than one. Seated within the vessel's hold, parts of her lightsaber floated in the air as she sat in a meditative state. At the epicenter of the pieces was a brilliant amethyst crystal as the other pieces remained around it before slowly coming together to encase the crystal within themselves, forming her hilt once more as the ship touched down.

Rising to her feet as the others began to leave the hold, she descended the ramp behind them and took in the sight of the landscape, her senses open to the Force. When the task was given to collect firewood, she responded only with a nod and set out as she kept pace with the other she was tasked with. New worlds were always a wonder to her, yet collecting something like firewood took her back to the days on her homeworld as a child. As the young woman with her introduced herself, she formed a kind smile in return.

" I am Alluria. " She said simply, feeling her first name would suffice as a reasonable response. Inspecting the ground and branches that she could reach, she would collect a few, leaving behind those that felt would not be good enough to fuel a proper fire. As Myka paused in her question, Alluria grew curious feeling there was something more to give such a reason. Though, what it could be was not something she would seek. Everyone had their secrets. Some were better left unknown.

" It has been a short time. I could not say for certain, if I'm honest. Time blends easily at times. " Then came her own question, though it was not formed to draw any particular answer from the girl, merely to fulfill a curiosity. " What of you? Have you known him long? "
