Above: A small amount of OVS-4 in a beaker
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION- Intent: To create a unique chemical weapon capable of rapidly destroying organic structures.
- Primary Source: Wikiwand - Titanium(III) chloride
- Name: OVS-4, commonly known as "Organic Vaporization Substance"
- Manufacturer: Outer Rim Military Engineering
- Affiliation: ORME, SJO, private buyers
Production: Limited
- Modularity: None
- Legal Status: Restricted to biological/chemical warfare
- Ingredients: Chromyl chloride, plank gas, and spraynet mixture
- Classification: High-Potency Lethal Injection
- Method of Consumption: Injection, consumption, or physical contact
- Average Life: ~30 seconds per centiliter (typically the most effective quantity, about four times as much liquid as in the top picture)
- Nutritional Value/Allergies/Side Effects/ Purpose: Coming into contact with OVS-4 through organic structure rapidly kills massive amounts of cells, rendering them useless in the organic body, and almost always leading to successive failure of major organs, causing death within five to twenty-five seconds, with numbing of the dead cells preventing pain from being easily noticed.

Strengths:
- Biological Terror: Upon making contact with skin, flesh, membrane, or any hydrophilic organic material, OVS-4 molecules rapidly enter the body, traveling through the bloodstream and killing any cell it comes in contact with. Once a centiliter or more of OVS-4 is flowing through the bloodstream, there is almost nothing that an organic can do to save themselves before their vital organs shut down.
- Silent Killer: Similarly to third-degree burns, OVS-4 kills enough nerve cells that there is initially no pain. Consequently, it may take an organic multiple seconds to realize that their tissues are decaying from within.
- Multipurpose: Unlike more corrosive chemicals, OVS-4 can be used outside of a container as long as care is taken to not touch any organic solids. OVS-4 can be used broadly as a powerful poison, able to be slipped in food or drinks, or coated on melee weapons to increase their lethality.
- BIOweapon: Any solid armor can easily absorb or block OVS-4 with no damage taken whatsoever. Consequently, OVS-4 is nearly useless against mechanized infantry and armored units.
- Lazy Floater: If OVS-4 enters the body away from an artery or any internal tissue that links organ systems, it tends to clump up in a spot and only kill a small portion of the body's cells. Consequently, accuracy is important, and more than one centiliter of OVS-4 should be used in organisms more than twice the size of a human.
Worried by the rise of the Byrn'adûl, who have started to employ a unique arsenal of organic weaponry and even dreadnoughts, Outer Rim decided to create a countermeasure. Their first and most reasonable decision was to make a bioweapon capable of being spread through an organic bloodstream to destroy large amounts of tissue. After numerous different chemical combinations, a majority of which either produced no reaction or exploded, a successful compound was finally created. By combining three potent substances, Outer Rim was able to create a new and unique substance which harmed only biological tissues, while leaving other matter intact.
