Location: Acclimation, Bajulator II Star Destroyer, on approach to Outpost Sierra

The Intel reports had stopped coming from Delphian IV for an oddly long period of time, which to Delilah meant two things. First, incredible military incompetence, or secondly they had been destroyed. What was odd, was that the channels were still open for Outpost Sierra, which meant they were listening, but weren't sending anything back out. That indicated attack, but if that was the case why was the station still receiving com signals. Given how close the outpost was to the newly made NIO space, they couldn't send her star destroyer in, but rather a covert strike unit. The best that the Empire would spare were being assigned on this mission, and given her excellent track record, Delilah would be the second in command for this operation; second only the the Sith Lord that was. She wasn't sure what to make about this Darth Kados, but she wasn't exactly a fan of Sith. They were impressive and powerful, and even a handful she could have respect for, but some of them were irrational, temperamental, and unwilling to head consul of more levels and experienced heads. Even though she wasn't a field officer, Delilah would prefer to be there in person to oversee this operation; given how critical it was to the Empire, she refused to risk having a mark levied against her perfect record. Unfortunately, that meant she would have to don the combat suits of the storm troopers, though there were worse equipment roosters she could have ended up with. She had attempted to read up on Darth Kados, but due to his status as a Darth, she could only gleam so much. Clad in her armor, with her men attending to the dropship, she merely awaited the Sith Lords arrival. He wasn't late, but rather Delilah was extremely early; as she should be, knowing so little about a Sith had made her take upmost caution in preparing for his arrival. Switching between status reports from the bridge, personnel reports from her personal computer, and ensuring the deck crew were running the final checks to her expectations, she had quite alot going on mentally. This mission had alot riding on it, and she'd be damned if some hotshot Darth would drag her down if it went south.

This was indeed an odd assignment to get. To go investigate an outpost that went dark...certainly not the first thing one would ask a Sith Lord to do. But Auzob quickly understood why they asked him to go. This outpost was on a rather problematic planet that was known to be quite dangerous. He did his homework on it. Apparently some time ago a Sith Lord experimented with stuff on the planet in his little hill fort and now what was left had spread. If the local fauna was responsible, then it made sense why the outpost fell quiet. But at the same time he figured an outpost on a planet like this would have gotten proper gear to combat anything getting too close.

But speculation won't solve anything. He had a job to do and right now he had to go meet his accompanying officer. He gave her file a quick overview and had to admit that he was impressed. She was a soldier, through and through, not some officer that got their promotions because they made the right friends in the past. She fought her way to get to her rank. For this mission, she might actually be a lot better suited than he was. But then again, this might be one of those situations where a hardened officer and a Sith Lord could work well together.

With his helmet under his arm, Auzob calmly walked through the hallways of the destroyer towards the hangar bay. Once he reached the hangar he spotted the woman suited up in a plain stormtrooper suit of armour. "Captain Delilah Brujav?" he spoke as he approached her. "A pleasure to meet you. I must say that I didn't expect you to be dressed...like this." he spoke as he nodded to her armour. "I was expecting those other tragic uniforms most other officers wear. Glad to see you're a step or two above the rest." he commented before looking around. "...I was told we'd have an escort for this mission? any idea where that detachment of troopers are?" he asked her calmly as he leaned against a crate. He inspected his helmet and occasionally glanced at her. "I take it you would rather just jump into a ship and go down on your own?" he quipped with a small smile.

Hearing the hanger door open up, Delilah's head looked to the Darth as he entered, helmet tucked under his arm. He was taller than most, which was a rare treat for the captain, but given he was her superior she rose to her full height and snapped to attention. "Yes sir." She responded to his question, her yellow eyes looked forward, occasionally looking to the Darth on occasion. He was hard to read, but given he wasn't flaunting his power by murdering her crew at a whim, perhaps this could work out. "I try sir. I don't do field ops often, but given the nature of the assignment I wanted to ensure it would be a success." It was a nice change to have a superior that she could look in the eyes, half the time her commanding officers, Sith included, had to glare up at her; and on one occasion she had to lower herself to look one of the ugly bastards in the face, something she found to be quite disrespectful.

Her flight crew were still fast at work as the two continued their talk, probably concerned that their hard-ass captain and a Darth Lord of the Sith were sharing the same room. "Sir, my soldiers are gearing up. They should be here any moment, probably doing their equipment check in the turbolift." She stated, slightly irked that the platoon leader hadn't come down at the appointed time she had given him, he should have been ready by now. Kados seemed to be musing on what manner of soldier Delilah was, which was understandable, though she knew many Sith were frustrated with how 'uptight' she could be at times. "If I felt that doing so would lead to an accomplished mission, absolutely, sir." Still standing at attention, Delilah raised her right arm upwards and drew it close to her mouth. Speaking in the comm unit on her wrist, her voice had a sternness to it that could perhaps rival a Sith. "Platoon Commander, you are to be down here in the next five minutes, or I will personally see to your disciplinary charges once this assignment is finished. Lord Kados is awaiting your arrival so we can begin the mission. I want no excuses, I want your squad here immediately. Captain Brujav out." She closed her eyes for a moment, took in a short breath and set her arm back at her side. "Apologies sir, they will be here shortly." She restated, though she noted that Kados had a smile evident on his features, and seemed to be rather relaxed. Did he think her troops would take too long? If so, there was nothing she could do. She had given orders, and they were not deployed as of yet. Unacceptable. The hum of the turbolift sounded from across the hanger as a fully armed platoon of stormtroopers slowly raised onto the floor of the hanger, as the leader soldier moved towards the pair, the orange markings on his shoulder showing he was the commander of the unit. "Captain Brujav, ma'ma, we are all ready to go. Apologies for the delay." The man stopped about half way, looked to the Darth, then to the Captain, before doing two quick salutes to both of them. "Sir, Captain Trajo at your service sir." He responded, before motioning for his men to move up. "Everyone get your gear and stow it on board, we're going to be taking off shortly so don't go wondering off." He ordered, looking back to his men as they began to move the crates and munitions onto the shuttle, much to the annoyance of the technicians who were trying to finish the final check ups. Delilah still stood at attention, her eyes moving towards her men, then to the Darth. There was something on her mind that she hadn't been able to quiet, and it was information about the world. All she had gotten were operational data, like weather, base layout and transmission records. Delilah was hoping the Darth would have move. "Lord Kados, sir, if I may inquire, is there anything about this planet that you think I should know about? I attempted to research it ahead of time, but not being a member of the Sith, I had my access limited to mundane information." She didn't think her response was too prodding, but there was only one way to find out; Kados would either rebuff her or worst case scenario choke her out, but give their current standing that didn't seem likely.

Auzob listened to her and gave a chuckle when she hailed her troops to chew them out. She apologized but he simply shrugged. "There's no need to rush, captain. If the soldiers are gearing up, let them take their time. With a mission like this, I'd rather be a few minutes late than having to worry about faulty gear on the ground." he explained calmly. He looked at her for a few moments before looking around. "I take it you have a hard time getting along with other officers or sith? I guess you could say that you and them don't see eye to eye?" he joked with a smirk.

The troopers finally arrived and the two of them quite literally looked down at them. "Very good, captain." he acknowledged him with a nod before looking back to Captain Brujav. She asked about the planet and he motioned to follow as he boarded the shuttle. "I have a few records of it. It was the location of a Sith fortress millennia ago. This fortress was the home of a Sith Alchemist that wanted to experiment with all kinds of things. Speculations state that he was killed by his own creations while some records state he fled the planet. Regardless, it was thought that his creations died out but remnants of them still remained. This is why this outpost was very well-geared. Normally sending a squad down to investigate would be standard, but given the history of this planet, the higher-ups figured someone with experience in alchemy would be useful." he explained calmly as he moved to an open pair of seats for the two of them. "Let's hope that my presence wasn't needed. There were accounts of some rather problematic creatures that were spawned which I sorely hope have died out." he continued as he took a seat and strapped in.

He held his helmet in his lap as he calmly waited for the ship to depart. "There's a storm over the landing area, better strap in." came the voice of the pilot over the intercom. Auzob slid his helmet on and made sure his harness was fastened before sitting back and relaxing. The ship started to shudder as it passed through the storm, however there was certainly nothing out of the ordinary...until the ship suddenly lurched and a loud metallic tear sounded through it. It spiralled out of control and alarms blared as it went down. After several moments of unnerving spiralling and some loose items flying around, the ship impacted the ground. Auzob held on to try and stabilize as they were yanked back and forth by the crash. A part of the crew compartment tore open and let the howling wind in until things finally came to a standstill.

The wind howled along with the blaring of alarms. Auzob groaned as he readjusted in his seat. Properly dazed, he sat for a few moments to see what the hell happened before looking at the captain next to him. "You alive?" he asked her with a groan.

Kados attempted to placate her, but she did not relent, a Siths time was at risk of being wasted and given how little she know of Kados she didn't want to risk the Darth flying into an unstable rage; she had seen that happen far too many times. "With all due respect sir, my men are ready whether they have a few extra minutes or not. They had more than enough time to prepare." She responded, keeping her tone professional and composed so as to not irk the Sith nor seem to appear weak before the Darth. She merely raised an eyebrow at the Sith's question about how she got along with her fellow officers, before giving a small chortle upon catching the joke he had made. "Something like that sir. Being of abnormal height around individuals with large egos tends to have that effect on others." She answered, before her eyes laid upon her men as they began to load up the shuttle, but said nothing as she let Trajo get to ordering his men, returning her attention to the Darth as he rewarded her with an explanation.

The more Kados described the world, the more Delilah felt her stomach recoil at the information provided to her. A former Sith fortress? With Sith alchemy being involved as well? It was now more evident why a Darth was being sent, but only the one? And with no supervision on top of that? Rather peculiar, but that wasn't for Delilah to decide upon. She followed Kados onboard, her face rather emotionless as she mused over the information, ignoring the chatter of her men as she listened to the report. Taking a moment to sigh, Delilah took hold of her helmet and looked to Kados once more. "If only we could be so lucky, sir. Given my experience with this sort of thing, life enjoys crushing optimism." She remarked, before sliding the helmet on. She was hoping that the mission ahead would be a run of the mill operation, but her instinct was telling her that this wasn't the case.

They had launched from the hanger bay of the Acclimation, as Delilah could hear the pilots chatting through her helmet comm, and when the update about a rough landing was heard, a small part of her wanted to push into the cockpit and land the shuttle herself; but that wouldn't matter, there wasn't time to interject. Tightening the belt keeping her connected to the seat, Delilah shouted a warning to her troops. "Brace! This will not be a soft landing!" Almost on cue, the ship began to shake and convulse madly, the cockpit alarms being loud enough that Delilah could hear them over the turbulence. Some manner of storm this was, the weather reports failed to mention this. In the back of Delilah's mind, something about this just felt off. The ship continued to shake, it's metal frame screeching as the strain of the storm began to break away at it. The inside of the crew compartment was showered with rain, as several of the solders hunkered down, clinging to their chairs and gear as to not be sent hurtling through the opening, but after several long minutes it finally came to an end, as it seemed they had landed. Groaning and fighting a fit of nausea, Delilah released her safety harness and rose to her feet, and looked to Kados. "For the time being, it appears so sir." She remarked, ensuring her pistol and gear was still intact, Delilah looked to her men, only to see that Trajo was in the process of getting everyone together. Moving to exit the shuttle, Delilah was met with a rather unpleasant view. The plant life of this world was indeed unpleasant to look at, but the outpost in question wasn't that far away thankfully. "Captain, get your men together. I want a perimeter set up, and try to get some repairs done to the shuttle." She commanded, snatching up a blaster rifle from one of the weapon racks that had been set outside the craft. "I need six of you to come with myself and Darth Kados. I will be accepting volunteers to accompany us." Delilah stated, turning to face her troopers as a few of them looked about, perhaps hoping they wouldn't be selected for the task awaiting them. To the Sith captain, it didn't matter, they were getting to that station one way or another.

She responded and got up from her seat along with her soldiers. Auzob looked himself over and rose from his seat as well before making his way out of the ship. Thankfully the ramp was still operational. He wandered out as he patted himself down and adjusted his things. He quickly stopped as he got outside and received a good view of their surroundings. "Watch your step." he said to the rest of the group as he looked over some plants. "Something's off. Stay on high alert, keep your eyes and sensors open." he ordered the soldiers around them.

The captain ordered her soldiers to accompany the two of them but they seemed rather hesitant. Auzob eyed them for a few moments before giving a sigh. "Either you lot choose quickly or it's latrine duty for the next rotation for you all." he spoke with authority, raising his voice to get their attention. After getting them to move, he looked at Captain Delilah and gave a nod. "Let's get to that outpost, captain." he said with his more familiar calm voice once more. But before he set off he turned to the soldiers staying behind. "Try and get a distress beacon out to the ship, tell them we went down. And if you see or notice anything -both in and out of the ordinary- contact me and the captain." he said to them before joining the captain to start their trip.

After a few moments Auzob was leading the way with the captain, his lightsaber in hand to cut any thick brush or roots for them to get past. "The dark side is heavy on this planet. The plants, the air...I'm starting to get the idea that the outpost didn't go offline voluntarily." he spoke as he looked around them. He glanced at the soldiers behind them and then back to her. After a while of walking through the thick jungle, they reached a large metallic building overgrown with vines and brush. Upon reaching the entrance, Auzob tried to use the console to open the blast doors, but they wouldn't budge. The cracked screen faintly indicated that the lock was compromised. He glanced up at the captain and then at the door. "Luckily we have a universal key with us." he quipped as he ignited his lightsaber and plunged it into the door. Slowly he started to carve a doorway out for them before using the force to push in the slab of durasteel.

A loud thud echoed through the dark hallway as Auzob peered inside. "Let's move in." he said, standing beside the door and holding out his hand to usher the captain in. "Ladies first." he said with a joking voice, even giving a slight bow just to mess with the captain a little further.

Drawing a blaster rifle and ensuring it's charge was still holding, Delilah looked to see who the lucky men that were joining her would be. Initially, none came forward, but some words on behalf of Kados seemed to stir them forward. A total of six men had stepped up to the task, which was just fine with Delilah, though the fact they needed a Sith Lord to threaten them into capitulating...well, she wouldn't linger on that for long. Her gaze fell on Kados, and pondered if perhaps this display spoke ill of her leadership capabilities; she certainly hoped this wasn't so. She gave a look to Trajo and pointed towards the ship. Kados has issued his statement, but Delilah felt the need to give the orders directly; perhaps the presence of the Darth made her seek to assert her dominance. "Captain, I want you to get our distress beacon primed. Let the Acclimation know we are here, and set up a perimeter around the ship. We need this area secure." She ordered, before taking a tally of her own men. Seeing that they were all prepared to march out, Delilah moved forward, as she issued another command. "Squad, let's move out."

Kados opted to march infront of the squad, hacking away at foliage like some young adventurer in those holo-films, though he seemed a great deal more confident with that blade in hand. The planet here did feel strange, twisted almost, yet Delilah couldn't explain what truly was unfolding here; Delilah had no touch with the force after all. Kados suggested something of an outside force working against them, something that Delilah didn't quite understand. "Do you have an inkling of who might have done this sir?" She asked, stepping aside the smoldering plant life that was torn down before the pair.

The pair finally reached the outside of the outpost, only to find it covered in vines and plant life. Delilah was going to order breaching charges to be placed on the door, but the Sith had her beat, as he jammed his saber into the wall and began to carve a door for the pair. Ordering the squad to keep an eye out for anything intrusive, Delilah waited for Kados to finish his cutting, though she was a tad surprised he motioned for her to move inside first. "Of course sir." She commented, as she raised her weapon and approached inside, using the night vision of her helmet to see into the darkened area. "Squad, move in, look for survivors. Darth Kados and myself are moving to secure the transmission room." Delilah swept the first room, as her men came up the rear and paired off, moving to search the other rooms, while the captain moved towards the transmission room. The facility was abandoned, though blood smears and plant matter was scattered about at random here. There were shows of carbon scoring around the facility, but no bodies to be discovered. "I see zero contacts, but signs of a struggle are evident." She noted, speaking to Kados once he drew near. Reaching the transmission room, Delilah took to the console and began to unlock it, though she couldn't help but notice that she could smell the old blood through her helmet filters. It was splattered around the room and controls, but oddly none of the equipment here was damaged. Once she had logged in, she went back through the logs, showing a display of a holographic officer delivering his reports. It was all rather mundane, save for the last message, which saw this same officer battered and bleeding, speaking in broken basic before being swarmed by several humanoid creatures. Their bodies appeared deformed, almost twisted and covered in twigs and leaves, but at the ends of their fingers laid bony digits that were expertly used to carve the man to pieces. Delilah winced, and though she had seen such imagery before, she closed the message off once she had seen enough. "Well, looks like we found the source of the problem sir." She commented, as she began to download the data off the console and opened up a channel to Captain Trajo. "Captain, we are at the outpost. What is your status?" She asked, expecting to hear a quick reply within a few seconds, but this time she received only static. "Captain, report." She repeated, as Delilah paused at the terminal, straightening up as she turned towards Kados, concern stretching across her face under the helmet. "Sir, I can't get ahold of the crash site team." Delilah spoke, removing her helmet now, as she attempted to find the emergency become on the transmission channels. To Delilah's surprise, nothing showed up. Which meant the beacon was never put up, or worse, was being interfered with. "According to the sensors here, they never got the beacon set up. Troubling." The sound of static still poured in from Delilahs helmet, as her men began to chime in with info on the facility. It seemed that they had missed out on some sort of battle, though what exactly unfolded here...that wasn't for her to deduce right now. Coming to her full height, Delilah looked to Kados and began to speak. "We have a few options to consider, neither of which are pleasant. Our men at the site could be under attack by these intruders, or some unlikely coincidence has unfolded upon them in the last hour since we departed. Either way, these interfere with our current mission. What would you advise sir?" Delilah asked, knowing full well what she sought to do, but given Kados was her superior, it was needed to have his permission before acting on her own.

Auzob held his smile behind his helmet, but inside he cringed for her sake. She really needed to learn how to relax, though that was something he'd try to work on after the mission. They had much more pressing matters to worry about.

They pressed on through the facility, moving to the transmission room. Auzob kept his eye open for bodies...but the bizarre thing was the absolute lack of them. Delilah mentioned it as well, earning an agreeing hum from the Sith Lord. "Quite evident." he quipped, looking over a blood smear against the wall. "You'd think with this much blood, there'd be a bunch of bodies." he continued, thinking over the situation. He heard the recordings of briefings play and turned to watch as Delilah skimmed through them. she closed off the playback but Ausob brought it back up. Standing beside her, he replayed the message until the creatures reappeared. He quickly paused the video and looked over the creatures. "What the hell happened here." he muttered, studying the creatures. He removed his helmet and rested his hands on the table, eyeing the creatures over while Delilah tried to make contact with the squad back at the shuttle. He turned his head to look at her when she couldn't reach them. He shut down the video and took hold of his helmet as he walked over to her.

She asked about their current situation and how to proceed, but Auzob simply shook his head. "We can't go back to them. Get your men ready for a fight. I have a bad feeling about this." he said with a serious tone as he slid his helmet back on. "They're already dead. and whatever's got them is quite likely going to be coming for us. Captain Brujav, you have more experience with these situations, but the creatures that killed those men are not just random animals. they're Sithspawn." he explained to her as he looked around.

"We need to contact the ship for evacuation. This outpost is lost." he spoke as he looked around the place. "Will that comms table be-" he was cut off when an ear piercing shriek echoed through the air outside the base. Several more could be heard before it went quiet again. Auzob stood still for a moment then looked back to her. "They're coming."
