OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
  • Intent: To submit an insurance policy.

PRODUCTION INFORMATION
  • Manufacturer: Cogmind
  • Model: Outlaw's Insurance.
  • Affiliation: Closed-Market
  • Modularity: No
  • Production: Semi-Unique
  • Material: Ionite, reinforced rubber-polymer casing
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Ionite. The shard of ionite does exactly what it is supposed to do: destroy any and all electronic equipment in its range, because of its small size that's only about five meters give or take. Put it next to a computer system, a tablet or similar electronic equipment, viola. Soon enough any data within is completely fried and unusable.
  • Isolation. The reinforced rubber-polymer encasing the shard ensures that it doesn't simply run around and destroy every single piece of electronic equipment in range. You need to actually pull it out, before doing the damage, bub.
Strengths:
  • Localized damage: It can fry and wipe most common forms of electronic systems within moments by sheer proximity.
Weaknesses:
  • Range: Short range, five meters or less, probably less if you want it to act quickly. If you put it right on top of a computer system it will take moments, but at five meters? A minute or two. Better be prepared.
  • Indiscriminate: Once you take it out of the casing? That's it. It will fry whatever is in range and is capable of affecting. You forgot to put your phone away? Well, better hope you got a back-up of your contacts stored elsewhere, because it's gone now.
  • Cyborgs: Again, this is a small piece, you aren't going to destroy cyborgs or military-grade droids with it. A cyborg might get nauseous though. (Which explains why their creator hates them and doesn't like using them)-
DESCRIPTION
Privacy is important as far as Daro is concerned.

Sometimes you have to go the extra mile though. That's where the Outlaw's Insurance comes into play, a shard of ionite encased by a rubber-polymer, it enables its owner to quickly wipe and fry systems when they need to. Are the police breaking down your frontdoor or something similar?

Put the shard right next to your device and let it work its magic for a bit.

By the end of it they won't be able to recover your sensitive material.

No need to thank Daro, just leave the cash at the usual spot and be happy. Just be careful with that rubber housing, just a little break in it and it could ruin your regular devices without much trouble. This isn't a smart system whatsoever. It means that the wielder itself has to have the smarts this time around.

Good luck.
