Wearing her armor yet with the Alliance emblem on the vest and shoulder plates Minerva entered the establishment. Jizz music played in the background as it was a full house tonight filled with various members of the GADF and numerous citizens as well. Server droids rolled back and forth across different tables and booths. Mandalorian stopped as she was bumped into by a drunk pilot who was held by his comrade on the shoulder while they made for the exit. She got some resentful glares here and there but pressed on.

Navigating past a Torguta male in a red suit complaining on his commlink Minerva made for the bar stand itself. The music grew louder and louder with each step closer. To the left side a couple of marines in off duty fatigues were hollering at their table as they just finished a toast. Arriving at last to the stand Minerva took a seat and a Duros bartender in green and brown outfit came over wiping the inside of a cup with a rag. Recognizing her the owner beamed and she grinned back once pulling off her helemt.

"You want the usual Cap?”

"Yes, Odan that would be great. Corellian ale and triple the ice this time." Minerva answered before paying with a credit coin.

Nodding Odan went back to get while she sat and waited with a continued smile. The warrior was certainly looking forward to that drink.

Dressed in some decent looking clothes, though not overly upstanding as of yet - no, the good clothes would be at the Senate Chambers, quite a bit later. He entered the Cantina with two Sun Guard soldiers on his flanks. He looked around, seeing how full the place was, before gesturing to his escort, "I'll be completely fine, you two go mingle and enjoy yourselves. I'll let you know when I'm ready to head out. The two soldiers agreed, though they didn't really care for the party life, not after regaining their religion.

They ended up sitting with each other at the opposite end of the bar from Minerva, giving idle chit chat, as Atos made his way through the crowd after observing the busy club. He made it through the clustered jam and found himself at the bar. He leaned in towards the bartender so he could hear, almost five feet away from Minerva. "One Alderaan Twist, please," he nodded as the bartender nodded. As he waited for his drink, he did notice the Mandalorian, but he felt like giving space before he just introduced himself. Let the existence settle in, as it were.

Minerva was taking off her service cap briefly and brushed some of her hair with the right hand. She hadn't noticed the stranger right next to her until he made his own drink order. Turning to Atos' direction the uniformed Mandalorian noted despite his clean clothes there was a ferocity in his manner yet discipline that added to the imposing figure he gave. Additionally the scars on his dark skin hinted of experience with violence. This man is a fighter or had been one.

Odan got both drinks, one in each hand and gave them over. Her attention back to the bartender.

"Thanks Odan."

Quickly the bartender waved it off.

"My boy is alive because of you and my family will never forget that. Serving you drinks is the least I can do."

Humbled by that gratitude Minerva raised her glass saying.

"Here to Junior, your son and my comrade."

Then with a gulp she emptied half of the glass while Odan went take care of more orders. Placing the cup down she turned to Atos.

"I haven't seen you in this place, stranger. New around town?"

Atos' interest piqued as the person he was going to chock up a conversation ended up speaking to him. The Mandalorians did always strike first, she won this round. He smirked, “Evaar'la at Coruscanta, Ni cuyir evaar'la Ta'aya'r be Thyrsus.” He spoke in clear Mando'a, being Thyrsian and raised in Thyrsus, knowing your enemy was important, and the Mandalorians had always been the biggest rivals to the Sun Guard. But the Mandalorians were not his enemy.

He turned his head, looking at the Mandalorian before standing up straight, reaching his hand out for a shake, "my name is Atos Vodus, it's a pleasure to meet you. Young or old, new or veterans, Mandalorians were always a sight to see. How are you?"

At his reveal Minerva tilted her head in examination. A Thyrsian now that explains a great deal. While many in the galaxy know of the Mandalorians' repeated conflict with force orders like the Jedi and the Sith, the Sun Guard were no less worthy foes. She hadn't fought any Sun Guard herself but her adopted father Jorel spoke of their skill and ferocity.

When thinking about it some more it made sense since Thyrsus recently joined the Alliance. Then she threw her head back and laughed. Quickly with a strong grip Minerva shook the offered hand before letting go.

"Well met Son of Thyrsus. I'm Minerva Fhirdiad, adopted daughter of Jorel Merrik."

Of course she didn't expect him or most to know Jorel's name but she will never not stop being proud of their ties as father and daughter. Raising her right index finger she grabbed her glass with the other hand and consumed some more. Putting the cup down again Minerva explained.

"Well enough to enjoy ale heh. 79's is a great joint to unwind especially when you're off duty. How are you faring?"

"Well met, Minerva of Merrik," though he had never heard of the name. Born and raised on Thyrsus, anything beyond his little planet he was only learning of now. "I am slightly exhausted; my newest ship was supposed to have a casual, care free cruise from Thyrsus to Coruscant. I had some time to rest, but... well, fighting a horde of Malraas and I need a few days," he grinned in jest.

Finally, his drink came around, and he gently sipped at it. He wasn't in the right mind to get drunk, since his face was going to broadcasted all over Coruscant tomorrow. "It's also a little stressful still since I have an acceptance speech to make at the Senate Chambers tomorrow, so I can't even get drunk and unwind, though I'm not that much lf a drinker anyway," he chuckled.

Another senator and a new one at that. He was a lot more boisterous than Organa, not that she didn't mind. On the contrary she was amused. Especially when he explained his dilemma. Throwing her head back she laughed briefly.

Looking back Minerva nodded. "And they say Senators get all the fun. Quite different from being a Sun Guard."

Minerva can't imagine ever choosing the path as a senator. There were multiple reasons why that wouldn't work and why she didn't want that kind of job. Drinking some more at the thought she instead noted silently.

I imagine there is quite the tale to why Atos chose his new profession. At least the senate got someone with a warrior's heart in it.

Placing the glass down Minerva instead said.

"When I first learned Thyrsus was joining the Alliance I knew the latter gained some new strong allies in your people.“

"... Who said anything about Sun Guards?" an awkward silence came from Atos, the two Sun Guards that entered with him at the opposite side of the bar stopped their chatter, looking over at Minerva. Atos set his glass down, looking suspicious at her, "I am no Sun Guard, what had you bring that up?" He seemed tense, as if he was found out. How would this random Mandalorian have known about him? His hand rested on the hilt of his blade, as the two Sun Guards gripped their weapons tightly.

But just as swiftly as Atos created the tension, did he disperse it. He opened in laughter, and the Sun Guards across the bar erupted with him. He cut through the tension instantly, once more, he reached his hand out for another handshake, as if reintroducing himself, "I am Atos Vodus, Son of Oblitus Vodus of House Vodus. I am the Son of Suns, the one spoken of in ancient Thyrsian religion to bring paradise and strength to Thyrsus, through The Way."

The Sun Guards that were at the opposite side of the bar were gestured over by Atos, hopping down from bar stools they slowly walked over.
"This is Stellar Legionnaire Antonius," he pointed to the one on his left flank, "and this one is Stellar Legionnaire Gaius," he finally gestured to the one on the right. They both gave a Sun Guard salute. Antonius looked to the bartender reaching onto the bar and pouring out a handful of Aureus Solari, pointing at Atos' empty drink, and Minerva's drink "Son of Suns is essentially our prophet. You may know us as mercenaries, and well, that still holds pretty true." Gius spoke up, "The Sun Guards are split at the moment, and the Son of Suns wishes to reunite us. We're split because one side wishes to stay military and mercenaries, our sect adopts the religion and the authority of the Son of Suns."

For a moment Minerva felt like she was about to fight until the senator laughed out. Truth be told she had just only made an assumption. She looked on as one of the Sun Guards paid for the drinks. Son of Suns huh? Must be similar to what the old Jedi called Anakin Skywalker. She titled her head toward the trio thinking further.

Hopefully this guy doesn’t fall into becoming something like Vader before fulfilling his people’s prophecy. If that is true.

Keeping all that to herself Minerva instead said outloud.

”I see. Well good luck to you Senator but I must return to base. My troops will be waiting for me. Thanks for the drinks.”

With a salute to Atos then a friendly nod toward Odan the bartender she headed out.

The End
