Private Outcasts

Of course, he hadn't spent much time on Denon. He didn't know how hard things could be or how easy it was to resort to thieving or worse. When he admitted he couldn't understand how she felt, she let a breath out of her nose as a reply. Her lips curled a little when he said he wanted to be the spark of good, and she shook her head.

"Look, just forget this happened.. I'm nothing and nobody."

Attempting to touch his mind with Force and erase the exchange they were having. It wasn't much trouble to take away that short of a memory. She did not omit any details about his investigation. The only thing he wouldn't remember was their encounter.

He mentioned he was a Jedi, and it finally sank into her brain.

Please let this work.

Through all of this, she still didn't show him any violence. In fact, if he thought about it, she wasn't even threatening him. Even with him admitting he was a Jedi. If he attacked her, she would escape by teleporting to a safe location.

The training she did have should be enough to let her get away.

Kas was assessing the situation between him and Aren passively all while maintaining his guard. He is from Panatha but that was brief where he ended up on Corellia. Kas didn't come from a wealthy background of a family upbringing nor a poor one they all worked hard to live their lives. He kept his sights fixed on Aren.

"This can't be forgotten or ignored. It has to be reported."

The Force could be sensed coming from Aren and thanks to Kas' hybrid species there are traits that naturally kicked in without him having to use the Force himself. A formation of a Thought Shield or Mind Barrier would always be present upon Kas. For those who attempt to oppose his mind he'll never be effected.

Not a good idea in trying to get rid of memories from my mind.

Kas hasn't seen any signs of violence mentally or physically targeted towards him by Aren. No threats were made all while Kas was calm and focused. Quite a dangerous combination for any enemies against him.

"I know what you're trying to do. I can feel it through the Force and with my kind that won't work."

Aren's eyes flickered, a flash of panic she couldn't entirely suppress. Her words—the suggestion she had thought subtle—had hit Kas' barrier like a wall.

"This… this has to be reported," she said, voice tighter than she intended, each syllable trembling just enough to betray her fear. Her pulse hammered in her chest. If it's reported… they'll lock me up again. I can't go back there.

Her fingers flexed, curling and uncurling at her sides, betraying the instinct to flee. She had not anticipated Kas sensing her attempt, though not entirely or immediately. The weight of his awareness pressed against her, cold and unyielding, making her feel vulnerable in a way that made her stomach knot.

"I…I didn't mean it like that," she added quickly, forcing her words out before the panic could fully overtake her. Oh, but she had meant it that way. He didn't need to know that. Trying a new plan, she straightened, shoulders rigid, jaw tight, masking the trembling she could not quite hide.

"The report…it has to happen, yes. But please….I…I can't go back there. Not to the Jedi jail." Her words were measured and controlled, but the underlying fear clung to every syllable, subtle but undeniable.

Aren's gaze didn't waver, his calm a sharp contrast to the heat of her anxiety. She felt it like gravity—pulling, pressing, reminding her that every move now had to be precise. She had her teleportation skill, which she could use as a last-ditch effort.

Kas was able to see the slight fear and panic emitting from Aren as he was able to detect use of the Force coming from Aren. He was unable to feel any different with whatever she was trying to attempt against him.

"Yes, this has to be reported to the authorities, Aren. It cannot be ignored or swept under the rug like nothing happened. You have effected several individuals without a shadow of a doubt."

Kas responded to Aren still calm and focused no tension or emotional state from the young man. He was watching her actions and movements with caution. His sights locked on and his mind not in a tunnel vision like state all while the cogs in his brain turned.

"That is not up to me to decide where you end up. When the report is issued. It is down to the authorities to then handle the case. The more you cooperate peacefully with authorities the better standing you have."

Kas was mindful as a Jedi redemption was always an option that should be considered and offered to even criminals that can turn the tide of the wrong-doings they committed. It would be a way for any to earn their redemption and make amends where possible.

Aren's expression remained calm, even measured, her breathing steady despite the panic curling in her chest. She let her gaze linger on Kas for a moment, giving nothing away, her voice low and controlled.

"…Understood. I'll cooperate," she said, each word deliberate, neutral. "I don't want trouble either, but I also don't plan to…linger longer than necessary."

Her mind, however, raced. Damn it, she cursed silently, I've gotten too cocky…too confident. I can't believe I let myself think I could handle this without consequences.

A subtle shift of her weight, almost imperceptible, and she felt the familiar tingle of the Force around her. With the calmest possible exterior, she tapped into it, preparing her exit.

"…Excuse me," she murmured, her tone neutral, and in a blink she was gone—leaving nothing but the faintest ripple in the air where she had been standing.

Kas would be left with only the evidence of her departure and the undeniable fact that she had underestimated how much she'd revealed to him. Luckily, she had only told him her first name, and the name on the building she lived in was her long-dead master.

Once Aren said she would cooperate with authorities and Kas, he felt somewhat relieved. Still, Kas remained cautious and mindful as the authorities will need contacted right away from this point. He was noting down mentally how Aren was behaving and speaking while he was with her.

"Good, the more cooperation and the less trouble, the better the outcome is, Aren."

There the neutral but cooperative stance between both Aren and Kas was setting in between the two while standing in the office and apartment that Aren had used. Continued to observe her, Kas, he had his sights trace Aren around and down when she made movements before him.

"Wait! Where are you-"

Kas couldn't get another word in as he felt the Force surrounding Aren where he was ready to defend himself for any attacks inbound. Before he could react any further - Aren was gone, vanished, no longer here. Her presence in the Force wasn't anywhere near or inside of the Apartment and Office.

"Now that's a first... She vanished from plain sight? Hmm soe she is a Force Sensitive, perhaps a strong one to do that."
