Faction Out on the Farm (SJC, Mandalorians, Taanab)

Alor of Clan Gred, Mando'ad'jetii

Location: Taanab, Vercapaanir Farming Outpost

Mig smiled as he took a look around. Some speeders were just coming in with supplies from one of the farms at the outskirts of the city, and Leddie was back in the animal pens playing the with every baby critter she could find, including a curious Varactyl hatchling. Mig was happy to be on a planet that was a bit more like home, around his own people too. He'd sent a bit of an open invite out to the Silvers, Mandos, and people on Taanab as a chance to show them the progress the outpost had made. He would be lying if he said it wasn't also to possible meet some new faces, as well as old.

He looked at one of the fruits off the coming transports. Picking it up before trying a bite. Gah! Sour fruit! What the heck that thing! It didn't look like a lemon. Eh, apparently the Tals used it in medicine. He wiped his mouth out before looking around, hoping no one saw that. He turned quickly to check on Leddie before hearing a voice behind him.

"Impressed Alor?" A hooded woman with armor walked up, looking out.

"Always impressed by this Talyn. It's why I want to show it to people."

"Just make sure they don't scare the Varactyls." Mig just chuckled and shook his head.

The rumors of a Mandalorian leaving out on Taanab had reached Caden.

He had spent enough time living along Mandalorians to class himself as one. He had spent enough time living along Mandalorian soldiers to become integrated in their culture. He had spent enough time alongside them in general, fighting to reclaim Mandalore with them.

So when the news of a clan living out on Taanab reached Caden, he wanted to investigate. Perhaps they hadn't heard that Mandalore had been reclaimed by Kreslin Westwind Kreslin Westwind and the Mandalorian Union. Perhaps they were a part of a band of wandering Mandalorians.

Caden wasn't sure but he wanted to find out.

Asking Okkeus to help him was awkward. They had spent so much time as enemies that even speaking to the man was awkward. They were working on repairing the bond that they had once had however and there was no better way of doing that than an adventure.

The young man flicked a switch in his own ship. They were using his ship for once, his
LL-1210 Light Freighter that he had taken years before, when he and Okkeus had originally fought. Okkeus always got to fly back in the day and now it was Caden's turn.

"You ever met a true Mandalorian Okke?"

Years had passed since they had last been able to talk to teach other as friends, so it felt nice to have that bit of banter between themselves. Caden wasn't sure how long it would last, wasn't sure how long they'd be friends but he hoped it would be a while.

"Miss Elea!"

From the front porch, Elea Faraday straightened up and craned her neck to see a farm hand running towards her. Lifting her hunting blaster, she took to the steps and met him on the dusty ground, the hem of her dress already dirty. "What is it?"

"We found the body, just over yonder," the young man said, panting and pointing towards the edge of the woods that surrounded her ranch.

The rancher widow glared towards the tree line, and bid the farm hand to take her there. This was the second Bantha calf they'd lost in as many weeks. In this business, losses were part of the life -- but it was a different story when predators were involved. She couldn't let some beast take any more of her bantha, circle of life be damned. This was her livelihood. The two of them jogged out, and sure enough -- there was a trail of blood.

Elea grimaced, noting the bantha fur that also littered the ground. And as they walked to into the woods, the grisly scene met her eyes. She'd seen death before, no doubt, but the sight of the young bantha made her blink and look off towards the side. It was all she needed to see. "Bury it deep," she said, turning to leave, then paused mid-step. "No -- burn it instead."

She couldn't risk leaving the carcass under the soil, something would probably smell it -- and be back for more.

Cursing, she stepped back into the sunlight of another day on Taanab. A day already ruined. But even so, there was work to be done here at Faraday Farm. The animals needed feed, water, and the piles of poodoo waited for no one. Now, she only hoped that someone would answer her bounty -- come rid her of whatever creature that was preying on her animals. As she walked towards the large barn, she let out another long sigh. The fence needed to be repaired. Her Bantha, Bleu, the herd matriarch had done quite a number on the fence last night during the attack.

Get it done, girl, she thought -- and kept on walking.

Feel free to approach Elea should you wish to take on the bounty and hunt down the creature killing her bantha. Or -- she also has a call out for day workers here on the farm.
