High Orbit over Revyia, Shuttle to the Holdo's Legacy

Aboard the battered old shuttle, Rance Draysom adjusted the stack of components he was bringing over. They were perched in the arms of a badly rusted binary loadlifter droid, and represented an odd collection of repair parts: mismatched but functional engineering tools, replacement piping for the shower system, and a set of refurbished power converters. None of them would have looked out of place at a junk shop, marked heavily down due to wear and tear, but to the Verge Flotilla they represented significant resources. It was hard to get working parts out at the very edge of the galaxy, and anytime that you did, you'd have two dozen ships saying they needed them most urgently.

These ones weren't destined for any of the Big Five civilian ships, or any of the smaller but still cramped and influential passenger freighters. These were bound for the Holdo's Legacy, the largest ship in the fleet - and one of its only dedicated military vessels. There was always grumbling when anything went to the Holdo, but Rance did his best to quiet those angry voices. It might not seem like the star cruiser was a top priority right now, but when they left the system, they were at risk of interception by Sith, pirates, warlords, and worse. If any of those enemies closed in on them, they would be glad to have the Holdo's protection.

As chief supply officer of the Flotilla, Rance was trying to establish a good working relationship with Hiro Statura, the commander of the Holdo's Legacy. The ship was one of several that had joined the Flotilla after their rebel faction had been driven back by the Sith, making Hiro and his troops some of the most wanted men in the entire fleet. It also meant, however, that these were trained and experienced soldiers, people who could be relied upon to stay calm in a crisis and to know what to do if battle broke out. So Rance did his best to get the Holdo whatever she needed as soon as he could, though that wasn't always possible with their limited resources.

Rance's shuttle was crossing the Flotilla's gathering point above Revyia, passing the dozens upon dozens of other ships that had joined them over the past few weeks. With the war between the Sith and the New Imperial Order heating up, more and more refugees were fleeing the Galactic North, and many of them had no way to reach the safety of the Core Worlds. That tended to spit them out here, where it became the responsibility of Rance - and Hiro - to feed, shelter, and protect them. Glancing out at the swelling number of vessels, Rance knew that sooner or later they would have to start turning people away. There were probably too many already.

Soon, the vast shape of the Holdo's Legacy loomed up before him. Rance opened a comm channel. "Commander Statura, this is Draysom. Request permission to come aboard. I brought you those goodies we talked about a few nights ago."
