Monotone and down in the dumps. Othin seems to be in a constant state of contemplation. Still, he's duty-driven, acting in a way that is morally just despite his outwardly negative view on the galaxy. He has a hatred of Sith and the criminal underworld, though he could never hate those things as much as he hates himself. Do not invite him to a party.

HISTORY

Othin used to be a very normal Jedi Padawan. He was studious and dutiful, a star pupil amongst his peers on Coruscant, no doubt a rising star. Most of it was overachieving to fill in for inadequacies in his youth. Born to a poor family on Taris, raised by parents who were either neglectful or outright a criminal, he generally had to fend for himself. He wasn't particularly fond of that life. When he was found by the Jedi Master Loten Orr and asked if he wanted to leave it all behind to become a Jedi, Othin didn't hesitate. He wanted a future, to be important. Make a name for himself. So, from the day he stepped foot in the temple, the boy trained with the maximum effort of his heart and soul.

He had little time to make friends, but he found security in the Duros Jedi who had taken him on as a student. Loten Orr was, in all respects, a good teacher. More importantly, he filled the role of a father that Othin had been lacking. when the war began with the Mandalorian Enclave, the two would fight side by side as master and student. It was not a long conflict, but it filled him with a sense of purpose. His place was the New Jedi Order. After the conflict, Orr would depart on a Jedi Shadow mission. He was to investigate suspicions of growing dark forces out in what had been Maw space. He would return to Tython alongside an army.

Loten had fallen to the Darkside while abroad, joining the Dark Empire as they took control of the birth place of the Jedi Order. He was turned into a double agent, ultimately betraying the Galactic Alliance at the battle. Why is unclear. Othin doesn't remember much of it more than his broken heart. Perhaps they tortured the Master and broke his spirit. Maybe his scepticism of the New Jedi Order's methods made him vulnerable to influence. It hardly mattered. Othin did what he had to, dueling and slaying his teacher during the Battle of Tython with tears in his eyes and a rage in his heart. The boy knew he had tapped into something dark that day, something that terrified him to his core. He would be knighted for his efforts, but the affair left Othin shattered. If his teacher could fall to temptation and embrace the darkness, surely he could fall down the same path. Afraid that he may become a monster himself, Othin departed from the Jedi Order and chose to live the life of a Wayseeker in the Outer Rim, hoping to keep control over himself. He's grown increasingly reserved in his use of the Force, fearing the temptation to harness his anger will lead him to spiral out of control.
