STANDARD FEATURES
- All standard features common to the Eidolon OT-42 line
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
- Unique OT-42 engine configuration
- Scientific Advanced Sensors -- Modular; common examples include :
STRENGTHS
- Extremely fast and maneuverable, thanks to the OT-42 engine unit
- Resilient for a civilian starship
WEAKNESSES
- Small interior space, mostly used for living quarters and scientific equipment, that leaves almost no room for cargo
- Being a civilian starship, it has no weapons, forcing the pilot to rely on its defenses and speed in order to evade pursuers
DESCRIPTION
Taking advantage of the strengths of the Endeavor, CorelliSpace worked to create a new model of the Eidolon Series and its unique OT-42 propulsion system, more focused on extended stays in outer space. The empty cargo hold that comprises most of the Endeavor's interior, is replaced by a multitude of sensor arrays and research machinery, as well as a confortable sleeping quarter. Capable of acomodating a team of two deep-space researchers, for an longer period of time. Thus, the Trailblazer is the Mobile Research Laboratory - or M. R. L. - of the Eidolon Class Starships.
The gamut of advanced sensors that can be installed across the Trailblazer, and its Eidolon hallmark sturdiness and mobility, makes the OT-42S M.R.L. an amazing ship for both exploration and research.
Furthermore, for those civilian pilots more reluctant in venturing into deep and uncharted space, some of the scientific probing sensors on the Trailblazer can instead be used as countermeasure. Such as overloading long-range sensors to effectively match and mimic neighboring readings and create a Sensor Blind effect.
This feature provides increased utility and safety to the Eidolon Trailblazer, at the cost of complete loss of cargo space. Not to mention, the already strong hull, deflector shielding, and fast and agile SLAM-enabled propulsion, also present on the Endeavor.
The Eidolon Trailblazer is a strong contender for the position of ultimate survey spacecraft.
