OS Tournament Rd. 1: Gorteko v. Belgerath

Entering the arena Gorteko began to take the scene in, the stone platform surrounded by stands for onlooker to sit while the waited to watch the fights that were so wished to spectate. The platform was of fair size, at least large enough that two fighters could fully engage themselves without being constrained of space. All in all it was a very standard arena, which would make it perfect for a standard One Sith tournament.

For the time being it seemed that his opponent had yet to arrive, though Gorteko had arrived earlier than he was expected to be here. It seemed that now he must wait for the arrival of [member="Belgerath"] so that they could begin their duel. As he waited, he would think on how he would fight, he had his usual equipment; six weapons in total. However he had no desire to kill his opponent. How would he utilize his skills to win a fight without trying to kill the person he was to defeat? Perhaps he would have to hold back, and risk losing; or perhaps he would give it everything he had, and hope his fellow sith would be able to survive. Surely he would discover the answer to this soon.

Belgerath was waiting just before the exit and just out of sight at the stands. He had arrived a few moment's earlier and was examining the fighting stage with a minor degree of annoyance. It was indeed quite the simple large, standard arena, and it suited it's job quite well. But it did not please the sith assassin in training. This was going to make his way of fighting difficulty indeed.

With a mental sigh that the territory did not have any advtages or terrain features to make use of, he stepped up the stairs and onto the arena at a simple, slow gate.

The only two melee weapons he had on his person was a lightsaber and vibro sword. Two melee weapons, as was the maximum allowed by tournament regulations. He did not however limit his arsnel with only that. Four clay eggs hid themselves inside his long trench coat which went over his simple black robes. More noticeable then that was the just visible brown blindfold that went across his eyes.

Belgerath wasn't thinking of how he was going to fight. He was going to fight to win, and use whatever tactics he thought were best to make it happen. He was not a man against stooping low.

After reaching a reasonable distance from [member="Gorteko Graye"] he stopped, roughly around ten feet/three meters away. He made a silent bow, and waited for the match to be called to a start, resting his hand on the vibro-sword at his left side.

As [member="Belgerath"] approached, Gorteko couldn't help but notice the blindfold that he fashioned. 'Blind, and force sensitive. I've never seen this person before, but even I can sense that they're a threat.' Although Gorteko was not granted much time for such thoughts as the match was close to beginning.

A voice would soon call out for all to hear, "Contestants! Prepare yourselves! The battle will begin in, 3, 2, 1, Fight!"

Upon hearing the announcer call out that the battle had begun Gorteko would draw one of his lightsabers in his right hand and activate it, along with one of his blasters in his left hand. The sith had made a decision that he needed to keep his distance until he learned enough about his opponent to close in and finish him. Keeping this in mind Gorteko would open the fight up by firing two shots one after the other aimed toward his opponent's chest. While he had no intention of killing anyone, he knew that anyone willing to participate in this tournament would at least be able to survive the attack he sent. The shots weren't even really meant as an attack so much, but rather their intent was to provide Gorteko with information on how his opponent handles attacks.

Belgerath was silently looking his opponet up and down untill he heard the voice of the match referee. He started to sway his upper body left to right in a slow and constant motion, ready to move as soon as the voice said 'fight'. Belgerath right from the start began moving, and when the shots came in he dove away from them to his right. It seemed he preferred to dodge and out-manuver going by the speed he displayed. While the first shot's had missed thanks to his quick initial reaction speed, he wasn't going to bet on that keeping him alive. It was entirely possible his opponet would simply get used to his speed and adjust his aim and hit his mark.

In preperation for more incoming shot's his right hand grabbed the lightsaber at his back and activated it. It was a staff lightsaber, though he only activated one half. 'Wants to play long range does he? Alright.' He thought with an annoyed smirk, his left hand diving into his trench coat and grabbed one of his clay eggs, leaping into motion as he did so in a suprisingly straight forward charge at [member="Gorteko Graye"] . He kept the item in his let hand hidden, but his oppoent could still tell he was holding something in it.

Seeing that his opponent had dodged his shots, Gorteko was pleased; he still had no desire to kill this man. The battle seemed to be picking up pace, which also pleased the sith, slow battles were all too boring. As he saw the weapon that [member="Belgerath"] activated, he knew it was no average saber, though offhand he could not tell what it was, and did not wish to waste time wondering; so he would not think much on it.

The charge that his opponent took, was surprising to say the least. Not many would be brave enough to take a straight path towards an opponent that used a ranged weapon. Perhaps he knew that Gorteko wasn't much one for killing, perhaps he was just very confident in himself, or perhaps he was just stupid. It mattered not to Gorteko, he would react in only one way to any of these options; aim for the knees. Once again he would fire two shots, taking care to aim where his opponent would be stepping by following the path he had started. The first shot would be sent toward Belgerath's right knee, the second, towards the left. Only after firing the shots would he notice that the Miraluka held something, though he could not tell what it was. He could only hope he didn't just make a big mistake.

Belgerath's reason for his charge was none of the three. He didn't want to stay at range where he had no way of attacking his opponent, and he did not want to try and wait [member="Gorteko Graye"] to come to him. Belgerath doubted his opponent would anyways, as he would have no reason too. So instead he 'bravely' charged forward. When his opponent moved to fire, Belgerath's saber moved down to the shot going at his right knee, and cleanly deflected the first shot, shifting his body in an attempt to dodge the second one. But his reaction's were not that quick, and the shot tore into the side of his left calf. While that was not quite as bad as a shot to the knee, it was plenty bad enough.

But Belgerath continued forward for a single step more, and he was now only three feet/one meter away. He crunched the 'clay egg' in his hand as his entire weight was put on his now vastly weakend left leg. The pain that was already massive enough, but was made even worse. His left arm moved forward in a flash, throwing the contents of the crushed clay egg right at Gorteko's face. The contents of the clay egg was ground up glass. The effects of getting such a thing into one's eyes would be bad. Even breathing it in could casue it's own set of problems, though they would not present themselves as quickly.

Regardless of how the action went, wether it was a direct hit or not, Belgerath had bet his entire rush behind it. Immediantly after he had thrown it, he fell hard to the ground from the blaster shot, and rolled to the right while making a cry of livid anger from the pain shooting up his leg. But he forced the pain down after a few moment's, turning his head back to where his opponent was, to find out how well, or badly, his plan had gone. Though even as he forced his body to face his opponent, he was still on the ground, and his body was trembling from the pain, barely listening to what he was telling it to do.

Seeing his first shot deflected away only made the landing of his second shot all the more satisfying. While the placement isn't exactly what he had intended, the simple fact that the shot had landed did give him a larger advantage in the battle. Although the the attack did land, it didn't seem to have enough of an effect to stop [member="Belgerath"] from finishing his charge out. As his opponent was only a couple of feet away by this point, there was little he could do to prevent any sort of attack.

The glass was not something the Gorteko would have ever taken into account. He was entirely unsure how to react to such an attack and only had just enough time to turn to his left in an attempt to prevent as much damage as he would be able to. Though that's not to say that all of the damage was prevented; ground glass had made it's way into Gorteko's right eye. Following his turn, the sith left out a scream and dropped his blaster so that he could cover his eye with his hand, the pain he felt was nearly unbearable. He had no doubt in his mind that he was blind in his right eye now, all he could feel was pain.

At this point Gorteko questioned whether or not he should give in. The pain put quite the damper on his ability to focus. Any advantage he had at this point was nullified by the glass in his eye socket. By now he was losing control, the pain sending him into a rage induced loss of consciousness. Although he had never experienced anything like this before, he had also never experienced this level of pain. He dropped his lightsaber, which deactivated as it fell to the ground; and he turned back around to face his opponent, blood dripping down his face coming from his eye socket. The sith's leg pulled back, it appeared as though he was readying himself for a kick, though he was clearly to far to connect with such an attack. As his leg swept forward and upward, Gorteko would discharge a wave of force energy at Belgerath. Even though his body was taking these actions, Gorteko had no part in them. He had entirely lost control of himself, which is bad for everyone. It's bad for Gorteko because not having control lessens his ability to protect himself. It's bad for everyone else, because not having control means he can't stop himself from killing anything and everything in his way.

Belgerath heard the scream and the sound of his opponent dropping a weapon while he was still recovering, looking up to watch the saber fall out of his hand and deactivate. At this point Belgerath was still laying with his belly to the ground, his staff saber deactivated in his right hand from when had fallen down and rolled away. He could tell his enemy was loosing control, or maybe even had lost control completly going by his movement's and the pain he was probably feeling right about now. Belgerath made a mental note to avoid this man if he ever ran into him outside of the tournament. He doubted he had made a friend in this fight.

Belgerath rose to a knee, starting to prepare to use a force power before seeing his opponent... Raise his leg? Had his eyesight been damaged bad enough that he could not gague distance? That is what he initially thought, but Belgerath got an intensely bad feeling as his leg kicked forward and up, and he put his right arm infront of his body, crossing his left arm behind in. (I am going to assume the power of the kinetic force from this is the same as a real hard kick, PM me if i am wrong) The energy hit him dead on and knocked Belgerath's guard down completly, Belgerath able to feel a nasty crack form in his right arm's wrist. The bone wasn't broken fully, but it was a fracture at least. That arm couldn't take any more damage, and in addition, he lost his double bladed lightsaber when his arm snapped back from the force, the hilt bouncing and rolling across the floor.

Belgereath now found his back on the floor after getting knocked back from the force energy wave, pain shooting through his right arm from the fracture, his mind filled with rage. A cry of rage through tightly clenched teeth could be heard as he rapidly raised his left hand and pointed it at [member="Gorteko Graye"] , only taking a moment to concentrate and perform basic sith lightning. The attack was fueled with the pain and anger he was experincing, so it was not exactly weak. It was a bit stronger then force shock on the eletricity side of things, and the kinetic force was about as strong as a real hard punch. If he hit it would last for around a second and a half, and after that Belgerath was left breathing hard on the floor. Using that much intense emotions to fuel the force in such ways was draining to the inexperinced.
