Orrin is an ideologue, but he is not a fanatic. He is a proud product of the Mahporeem Remnant, and is fiercely patriotic and sincerely views the Empire as a necessary bulwark against galactic chaos. His commitment to the uniform is driven by a genuine, protective instinct for his people. This gives him an unshakeable sense of self-righteous purpose; he does not see himself as a tyrant, but as a guardian of order and a bane against Mahporeem's enemies.
Though supremely confident in his elite training and tactical prowess, he still maintains a profound respect for the realities of war. He recognizes his own youth and the limits of his authority, relying heavily on the wisdom of his veteran NCOs and accepts his own mistakes with a quiet, grounded maturity that has earned him the fierce loyalty of his entire platoon.
On the battlefield, Orrin has not patience for ceremony. He values results over rigid doctine and adapts his tactics dynamically to match changing battlefield conditions. He views setbacks not as catastrophic failures, but as practical problems requiring immediate solutions, discarding plans that collapse in favor of whatever keeps his platoon alive and moving toward the asset.
Strengths:
- Battlefield Improvisation: While Orrin learned everything about soldiering from the military, his engineering background allows him to process spatial geometry with lethal efficiency. He can look at a crumbling ruin, or a crashed starship hull and instantly spot the structural keystones. He uses this information to command his squads to construct impromptu, highly defensible barricades using minimum resources, or to direct his breachers to drop an entire ceiling onto an advancing enemy force with a single, well-placed thermal charge.
- Sensory Integration: Orrin excels at managing his cognitive load during missions. While tracking intense firefights across his squads, he can perfectly synthesize real-time sensor scans, drone feeds, and atmospheric data, that are constantly streaming into his command HUD. He translates this mass of technical data into clear, simple, and highly confident tactical orders over the squad comms without missing a beat.
- Material Efficiency: True to the gritty, resource-tight doctrine of the Mahporeem Imperial Remnant, Orrin is exceptionally skilled at utilizing compromised tech. If his platoon's specialized extraction winch breaks or a medical stasis pod loses power in a hot LZ, he can confidently direct his team to strip components from destroyed enemy vehicles or civilian power grids to jumpstart their gear, ensuring the medevac proceeds regardless of equipment failures.
- Logistical Over-Extension: Orrin's extensive training often sees him focus entirely on the immediate tactical goal: find the asset, stabilize them, and secure the zone. However, this drilled-down focus can lead him to dangerously miscalculate his platoon's consumption rates during extended, multi-phase search operations. He has a tendency to push his squads deep into hostile territory without establishing proper rear supply lines, running his teams dangerously low on specialized medical consumables or energy cells if a rescue window unexpectedly stretches past its projected timeline.
- Desensitization/Callousness: Orrin's psychological defense mechanism against the horrors of Capitol Five was to treat the battlefield with extreme detachment. While this helps him stay calm under fire, it also presents as as a cold indifference to civilian or non-essential casualties. If an allied local militia or non-asset civilian group is being cut down right next to his extraction zone, Orrin will strictly refuse to divert a single blaster or medic to assist them if it does not directly align with his core mission parameters, occasionally alienating vital local allies.
