Intent: To create a Frigate for the Mandalorian Fleet
Manufacturer: MandalMotors
Model: Ordo-class Frigate
Affiliation: Mandalorian Clan Ordo
Production: Mass
Modularity: High (see description)
Material: Terenthium-Desh Alloy (ablative armor), Alusteel-Reinforced Quadranium (hull & superstructure), Layered Duraplast (armor protecting sensitive electronic systems and the reactor), Glasteel (viewports), Durasteel (viewport and weapon port shutters)

Description:

Though slower and not nearly as maneuverable as many other vessels its size, the Ordo class frigate makes up for these detractors with heavy ablative armor plating and an equally formidable armament. While most effective in small groups, seeking out and overwhelming much larger vessels, it was designed to withstand a considerable degree of damage even when alone and far outclassed. This has made it a valuable addition to any fleet, especially those with limited resources at their disposal.

Largely compartmentalized, each section of the ship is capable of functioning on its own despite sustaining heavy damage elsewhere and even after a loss of power in other parts of the vessel. This is made possible due to multiple emergency power cells, a compartmentalized life support system, and manual override controls for weapon stations and other vital ship systems in each section of the ship (some of which require little more than hand cranks and gear wheels to operate). This also allows for easier maintenance and repair, as damaged sections can be removed completely and replaced without the need to modify, rewire, or reconstruct the entire vessel. Sections can also be converted to suit a myriad of other roles, replacing weapon stations and ammunition storage with medical bays, laboratories, and additional passenger quarters.

Ship commanders were sometimes known to override the power regulation safeties and utilize the emergency power cells to boost shield strength at the cost of losing backup power and the risk of potentially dangerous power surges. One drawback to the compartmentalized design was the fact that a single saboteur could easily wreak havoc if a manual override control station was accessed and compromised. To offset this risk, the passenger capacity was stretched to include up to one hundred and sixty marines and two hundred and forty support infantry.

Two more tractor beam projectors were positioned at the tip of the two forward projections with a third located near the hangar bay entrance. Working in conjunction with one another, they could easily overpower smaller craft or retrieve floating debris and reel them into the hangar.

When running on low power, gunnery stations utilize a secondary targeting computer with limited range and tracking capability. These computers are small and weigh less than five kilograms. They can be removed and replaced via a simple mounting bracket. They have rechargeable batteries that can supply energy for up to one standard hour, but they are secondary to the ship's own emergency power cells.

The Ordo-class Frigate is most often found in the service as planetary security, utilized to combat piracy, patrol commonly traveled hyperlanes, and escort convoys between jump points.
