And where were the spiders
There was a bit of training Marek Starchaser could offer. Sure, he was the Foreman of the Techno Union, but he was also a Templar, and a Master at that. He was learning all he could from his exiled mentor and his mentor’s mate. Once he was mastering more, he would be a stronger weapon. Right now, he was a telekinetic master, and working his way up with other powers, including reflex and energy manipulation.

Where he really shined, however, was with ranged weaponry. And everyone in the Templar needed to have some experience with that. At least that was Marek’s thought. Approaching a problem from all angles was important, for whichever group of the Templar they were in. That was why he was meeting up with [member="Maria Natalja"]. He had a few weapons ready, including several Czerka pistols and rifles.

As well as the crossbow, a major weapon of the Templar. There were dozens of worlds he could have had her meet him on, but he elected Hypori, because it was where he was spending most of his time. Seated by a table, with his standard pistol out, he awaited the Templar’s arrival.

Crossbow.

Isn't it one of the Rites of Passage?

I think it is.

Yes, Rite of Passage was one of the things Maria still lacked. She knew she would have to choose one of the four options. She already had a lightsaber, so the crossbow training seemed to be the best one. At least there was some use of being trained in using a crossbow. There seemed to be no use of taming a simple beast Maria would never use after that.

So yes, crossbow it was.

She was already on the planet of Hypori, on the world the trainer was already supposed to be waiting for her. She was not a bit nervous, feeling some constant pounding in her chest. Maybe the person who was supposed to train her wasn't of a good kind? Maybe he was an evil, true evil person? She couldn't be sure. Even though it was the Templar Order, she knew there could be any kind of people.

Maybe even Darksiders like her.

Reaching the right destination, Maria looked around a bit. It was a nice place. But there was also the table. And a pistol on it. And a man. Maria liked the man. She was good-looking, to say the least.

"Hi!" she spoke like a teenage girl she no longer was.

The use of the crossbow for the Templar was one of those things. Marek preferred to use other weapons, including the discblade, of which he was going to need to craft his own in the way of the Zeison Sha, but for now? He was using his crossbow, slugthrowers, a compound bow, and other ranged weaponry. It helped him keep things at arms length, and with his skill in Force Reflex, the ranged shots did assist him with a lot.

This was definitely one of his favorite writes for the Aspiring Templar, more so than controlling beasts. This was more useful, and could be used just about anywhere, including with the different arrows that were at a Templar’s disposal.

What was helpful here was that he was fairly confident the student was of the darker variety, and that was where Marek’s thoughts truly lie. He was a Sith hopeful, and was used to doing what needed to be done, for the mission at hand. Seeing the Aspirant, Marek nodded. “Greetings, miss Natalja. Here for your lesson in ranged combat?” Sure, it was crossbows, but he couldn’t help but want to infuse more into it.

"Yes, I'm here for the ranged combat training, mister... ?" Maria said, hoping to hear the man's name. She had never been told his name, which was strange. But there was no time to wonder why it had been so. She would have to start training, learning, soon. Crossbow... She would most likely never need it, but it was more useful than learning how to tame a beast she would never want to deal with after that. At least with crossbow training, she would become more precise which would help her at many other things, too.

Stepping closer to the table and eying the blaster pistol, she was sure crossbow wasn't the only thing she would train using at that day. It was good to be trained at using a blaster, too. It seemed to be a good skill.

Finally, ranged combat! This was what Marek loved to hear. He was one of what he figured to be the only ranged instructors who actually would prefer to stay at range, instead of close in with a lightsaber. Sure, the blades were nice, but he wasn’t going against people with one of those, too many things could go wrong. Working from a distance, he had a better vantage point. “Starchaser, you can call me Marek, however.” He nodded, no need for super formality.

“Do you have a preference of where you would like to start? Find a weapon you’re comfortable using. If you select something like the crossbow or slugthrower, there will be a lesson in telekinesis, or a similar power.” He took a second to look up to the sky, forming his thoughts. “That will help you become more than just a straight shooter. Obviously, this can’t be accomplished with a blaster, but they are decent for getting the ground work down.”

"Hmm..." Maria had to think a bit. She had used a blaster before, so she was most likely most comfortable with using that. But... there were other weapons she had never held in her hand before, maybe they would have been far better for her. She would never know unless she tried. "I would like to... go with the slugthrower at first, maybe. But if I don't like it, may I choose another one?" she asked then. Having never used such a weapon before, she didn't know how to use it at all, but maybe she would have been able to do so after the training. Maybe. In case she liked using it.

Of course, crossbow seemed quite awesome too, and it was one of the weapons a Templar would have had to train using. It was not mandatory, but one of the rites of passage, and since Maria had a lightsaber, she would have had to learn using a crossbow. But later, maybe. She knew a slugthrower can be a bit more interesting. And more destructive, maybe.

That was one thing to consider. This was a learning environment where Marek had no qualm with assisting anyone. He wanted to be certain that anyone of his comrades who could join him on the field of battle were versed in as many weapons as they could. Being the Foreman didn't make him the expert, it merely made him versed and granted him an immense respect for the weapons. "Slug throwers are my personal favorite. There is a lot that can be done with them. Once you add in the Force." Giving [member="Maria Natalja"] a nod, he stepped back to let her choose the weapon herself. "You may, after we exhaust a few trie with it."

"If you like the slug thrower, we will also give the crossbow a try." He grabbed the latter mentioned weapon and gave the dark haired woman a nod to the side. There was, of course, a weapons range here.

Interesting...

Having never used any of these weapons, Maria started eyeing them. She couldn't use even a single one of them, but of course that's why she was there. "I... don't know which one of them to take... Honestly, I think I don't even know what a slughthrower looks like. I've only heard of them. Sorry..." he said to the man after turning back to him. Her voice was humble, sounding like she was a bit sorry and at the same time, like she had failed at something.

A great way to start training...

She sighed and looked down. Then turning back to the weapons, she continued looking at them. Which one of them is a slugthrower? Maybe she should have started with a crossbow. Because she knew what they looked like.

There were certain people that knew there stuff and that was good. There were the people that said they did but had zero concept and Marek couldn't deal with them. Since [member="Maria Natalja"] was admitting a short coming, this was completely acceptable to Marek. He knew people had to learn somewhere.

"That is fine. The slug throwers are ones that are a little more bulky. Pieces open to load the ammunition, unlike a power cell being inserted." He lifted a standard semi automatic slug thrower with the Force. "This is a perfect training weapon. Not too many rounds, and lightweight. Not good for actual combat however." He watched her and nodded.

"Would you like to learn a few more? Or begin training?" He was willing to help here.
