DANTOOINE
PRESENT DAY

Ithor was an insufficient vantage point to watch the slow-motion collapse of an empire. That was not Boolon's main reason for visiting Dantooine, but it certainly ranked as a strong secondary.

The Jedi enclave had no formal affiliation with the Order; like the Hidden Temple before the Templars took it, the Dantooine enclave was independent, a home for those who had abandoned the Order or been abandoned by it. Ransacked by repeated Sith Empire raids, it still kept attracting Lightsider wanderers. It was to investigate this phenomenon that Boolon had come here to the ancient enclave. He'd begun cleaning the overgrown structure, and using his Ithorian arts to guide plants in beneficial directions. And bit by bit, he'd started to understand why Jedi kept coming back here.

Night would find him meditating in one of the sparsely furnished and ancient rooms.

HYPERSPACE NEAR ZAADJA
SOME TIME AGO

Jorus spat out a tooth that had finally worked its way loose. The bloody bicuspid flared against the force shield. "The knowledge? The knowledge -- ah, feth, son, you want to know how I do what I do? I lived and breathed hyperspace for twenty-five years. I tracked down the Graveyard of the Dragons and rode a Duinuogwuin the size of a capital ship clear from there to the Flamewind of Oseon, with a space suit between me and hyperspace tearin' me apart. I gave him my eyes and let him see the Flamewind before he died -- and when he died, he vanished, and gave me what I needed. I found another dragon on Naboo and chased him clear through the Core, all the way to Csilla. I didn't learn some trick from the Star Dragons, boy, I became one. You with your lightsabre and your fancy powers -- I can't do any of that, and I couldn't do what I do if I did."

PRESENT DAY

As night fell on the skies of Dantooine, Silas geared up, and he began his journey to the enclave. The silence of the night was peaceful to his ears as he focused his thoughts on the mission at hand. If worse came to worse then he would just play it off as an off world traveler who was visiting the temple. No one expected anything to be found within the enclave so if he did come across something he felt like he could get away rather easily. None the less he did not expect anyone to be there.

That was, until, of course there was someone within the enclave. He cursed under his breath as he felt the presence of another from within the structure. Stopping outside, he leaned against a wall, his hand instinctively going for his lightsaber but quickly he pulled away when he realized it was not on his hip but tucked away inside of his backpack. Sighing, he wondered what he could do, he definitely could not give away that he was force sensitive. He was sure he had already been spotted so he had to continue in as if nothing happened.

Quietly, he stalked through the halls of the enclave, knowing exactly where he was heading but hoping he did not cross anyone.

"You became a dragon?" Silas said with a quirked eyebrow after he spoke. Being a man of his word, he released the force field that contained him, and he stood still as he watched his next move. "So how are we going to get out of here then, Lord of Dragons?"

As the field fell and the stun cuffs came off, Jorus stood in the darkness. His cybernetic eyes gleamed oddly, and the entire vessel shuddered. He stalked around a corner and gestured at a viewport.

A viewport which revealed an assembled fleet of ragtag freighters and nasty-looking starfighters. Rebel Alliance.

"Now I get off the ship, and you wait for the Fringe to show up. See ya, kid."

To the eyes of the Force, even these storied walls did not exist. Boolon's meditation didn't exactly break, but it certainly refocused. Silas might sense a curious and wary mind, hard as old tree-roots. As yet, however, Boolon did not make the approach or even leave his room.

There was no reaction, at least not yet, so Silas continued into the enclave undisturbed. He could tell that the man, whoever he was, was onto him but he made no attempts to come after him in any way. Shrugging his shoulders he continued onwards to his destination. The problem was that he did not know exactly where the remains were. He had a small idea of where to go so he figured he would go deep within the enclave to find it.

The lights began to dim the further he went so he stopped and reached into his pack. Pulling out a small orb he clicked it in his hands and a small light flooded the corridors. Holding it out in front of him he looked around trying to figure out his next move. Not hesitating for long he carried on and within a few hours he had found what he was looking for.

Tucked away from sight, placed in a tiny vial, he found the genetic material he had come for. Setting his light orb down he took a moment to examine what he was holding in his hand. The last remaining remnants of a once great Sith Lord, he rolled it in his fingers, wondering how it had gotten there in the first place. Vader had been weak, a fool who could never rely on himself, he let his emotions completely control his life and in the end he ruined thousands of years worth of work in one fell swoop.

Tucking it away in his pack, he wasted no more time, it was time to travel back to the Spires.

Silas looked out the view port and laid witness to all of the starfighters waiting for him. A small smirk played across his face as he realized how duped they had been. He had an escape plan, he always did, so he was not worried about it but he knew his master would probably scold him. Though he knew they were going to let him go and this would make it seem like it had not been their fault. No harm no foul in the eyes of Ashin. "This won't be the last time we meet each other, you know? I will find you again, make no mistake about it." And he would.

Jorus didn't turn around to see the smile. The tortured Force Master just shook his head and kept walking away. Blood-matted hair flopped stiffly. "Kid, all lanes lead to me. I don't doubt you'll find me again. Just be fething sure you're ready for the finding."

"It will do you no good," said the Ithorian in a slow, quiet voice, as he appeared out of basically nowhere. "Ithorians are masters of cloning technology, friend, and I was asked to find a use for that sample. But all that came from it was madness. You are a rational man, friend, I sense that much. Madness does not do you credit."

Silas froze as he heard a voice and then an Ithorian appeared before him. He froze and stared at him as he spoke about how it was no good before he smirked. "It doesn't have to work," He started, tightening his grip on his backpack and preparing for something to happen. "You just have to make other people think it will work."

Shaking his head, he pulled his hood up, and he watched as the man left the ship. It was time to return to the Spires and read about what the man was talking about. His power was great, and if all went well, he would soon know all about it.

Boolon Murr blinked placidly, undeterred. "An opportunist, then. What happens, friend, when your buyer discovers the worthlessness of what would surely be a staggeringly overvalued purchase? If you cannot evade one sleeping Ithorian monk, how do you hope to keep your skin in a galaxy so unkind, when you meet its strictures with unkindness yourself?"

"Sneaking past an Ithorian in an abandoned Jedi temple and selling the highest bidder something like this are different. I wouldn't worry about it, I know what I am doing."

"Friend, if you knew what you were doing, you wouldn't have tried to get past someone like me, and you wouldn't be carrying that vial."

Boolon's long-handled lightsabre ignited, pale blue.

"I regret I cannot allow you to leave. You cannot imagine how much I regret it."

Silas flinched backwards when the lightsaber ignited and he stared at the Jedi for a few moments before he spoke. This was exactly what he did not want to happen and he could not get involved in a quarrel here. "You're making a huge mistake, Jedi." Standing himself up straight, he slowly pulled his backpack off of his shoulders, and he filled the room with a deep darkside energy. Fear, hatred, anger, pain, all of it radiated from him with a fiery passion. It was a technique he had been perfecting for a few years, the way the Sith of old would fight, they surrounded the room with doubt and fear in an attempt to break the opponents concentration and connection to the force. He had control enough over it to tap at the Jedi's mind, but not enter, no his mind would be too strong to penetrate right off the bat. He would have to wear him down, it was more like firing a warning shot, he did not want to fight him here.

"I will only allow you one more chance to let me pass and then we will never see each other again. If you refuse, I will not go down without a fight, and I will come out on top." In a final attempt to flex his muscles with the force he created a force vision, a vision showing what he would do to the Jedi if he won, how he would take time out of his day to torture the Jedi until he begged him to stop. He would pierce into his mind, find anyone he held dear, and he would bring death to all of those he loved or once loved without mercy. He would do all of this while keeping the Jedi alive, the Jedi would watch as everyone around him suffered, and he sat alone and could do nothing.

"May I go?"

He reached into his pack and he felt the cool metal of his lightsaber as he gripped his hands around it, ready to engage the Jedi in battle, did he really think this would be worth it?

@[member="Silas Tyree"]'s mentalism ran into a mind as tough as old tree-roots. Boolon Murr, as it happened, was -- in his unassuming way -- a really excellent mentalist. Silas' efforts told him that putting him to sleep might not be an option, and that saddened him. But the vision's full emotional potency did not penetrate Boolon's mind. As a healer who'd witness atrocities, such things brought pain and gave him resolve, even distracted him, but could not utterly overcome him.

"You may not, friend."

He settled into a simple but competent Soresu stance, long-handled lightsabre held before him in both hands.
