Abelain Narv'uk
The Bloodseeker

The Paladin slowly and gracefully hovered about in the eternal void of space just outside of the planet Bassadro. Within it's command bridge stood an anxiously awaiting commander who continued to peer out into the darkness using the various viewing ports situated around the room. The world sat upon nothing, and burned with a brightness reminiscent of the embers of a dying fire. It was bright, and even from outside of it's atmosphere, Abelain was nearly certain he could successfully view the thick magma as it poured out onto the surface, forming great oceans of fire. The planet was inhospitable to the highest degree, but despite that, civilization had found a way. Therein lay the reason for the mighty warship's visit upon the world, and for the presence of other ships encircling it like vultures to freshly maimed carrion.
The recent assault against Coruscant had proven to be disastrous to the morale of many of the One Sith, but it had also sparked a need for retaliation against those forces that had dared interrupt the sanctity of the capital. The past two battles against the Galactic Alliance had been lost, and so it was decided that a direct counterattack would be inefficient, especially with the ever growing wave of supporters that their government found. The correct course of action lay farther in the starmap, following the tendril that had formed their path to the core. If they could manage to setup an assault farther down the tendril, they would be able to cut supply from their opponents, and hopefully strike them in the rear where they least expected it.
Tactically, it was a sound decision. Realistically, it would mean a plethora of extra work would need to be conducted in order to ensure success. Foremost among these goals would be the acquisition of a proper supply lane from which to strike at their foe. Creating a supply lane using their own forces, and abilities would take far too long, and would allow the Alliance time to reinforce themselves against assault. It was for this reason that they had come to Bassadro; a world inhabited and influenced quite heavily by a popular pirate hub. It was an undesirable quality in the plan, but necessity demanded that they work with the criminal underworld if they were to procure a rapid supply lane, and the pirates already had one set and working for Bassadro.
The issue came when the Red Runners; the gang responsible for the pirate hub, decided that they would refuse service to the One Sith on a matter of 'principle.' It was for this reason that assassins, and soldiers were being dispatched to skirmish with their leaders, and force them to capitulate under duress, or to negotiate a better deal, and allow them to preserve their lives. The recent loss of life during the battle of Coruscant meant that the One Sith needed to hire criminals of their own to supplement their forces during the operation, though this decision was made with the distaste of many. The fortress hub of Scorchrock was guaranteed to be heavily defended, and the promise of possible death to the Red Runners' leaders meant that they would likely fight harder than if they were simply raiding a merchant vessel.
Another problem to the plan arose in the form of scattered villages of refugees. They had moved to the hostile world of Bassadro in an attempt to escape war, and now they found their very way of life threatened by the possible intrusion of One Sith forces. They weren't scum in the same manner as the pirates, but their mere presence brought difficulty. If the refugees managed to band together, they might easily interrupt the supply line by attempting to retake, or raze the captured Scorchrock to the ground after the majority of Sith forces had departed. The threat that they brought needed to be put in check, either through diplomatic means, or through violence.
A final issue arose in the need to collaborate with known smugglers to ensure that their supplies would continue to flow into Scorchrock even if it fell into the hands of the One Sith. Whilst this was the piece of the operation that seemed to be the simplest, it was also one of the most important. If the smugglers simply left Scorchrock alone, then the entire operation would have been for naught.
All in all, it was a complicated endeavor filled with moral issues, and the promise of hostile land if not hostile inhabitants. It was the first step in a campaign that would lead to the decimation of the Galactic Alliance forces if it was conducted properly, but as the Arue'tii glared out of his view port for the final turn before spinning about his heel to board a landing craft, he came to the conclusion that it would all fall into place.
