Veino Garn

Veino studied the ring, running it through fingers, and felt its presence in the Force. Nothing huge or dramatic, but there, cooler and more clear than a wilderness stream. He sank into the Force, focusing on that presence. It wasn't his own, not quite, nor was it Phylis', but a little bit of both with its own flavor.
"...stop this."
He didn't freeze as the blaster echoed in the small room. Instinct, trained habit, and the Force all worked together to have him step aside out of the path of the bolt, and then as an afterthought, he connected with the ring and put up a Force barrier. It was stronger than his normal ones, which would be very helpful in the future. It just felt more solid. The blaster bolt dissipated against the barrier, splashing energy away.
He let the barrier drop and studied the ring more carefully.
"That is a very handy skill you picked up, making these things."
