One for Order

Master Sedaire,

You sent me a request earlier this week about a potential contract in which Andromeda Electronics would supply the New Jedi Order with an assortment of droids for use in training and fittingly enough also the treatment of minor cuts and burns. I wish to follow up on this, but want to add as a very firm reminder from the get-go that I have my reservations about constructing something that could potentially — in the wrong hands — injure, or worse kill a man. I am not saying that is what will happen, but that it is something that I would much rather live without.

Regardless, considering who my sister is, I am offering the Order the benefit of a doubt that no such thing will occur. My mother, sister, brother and just about everyone around me is a member one way or another, I can’t really claim I would be any less a part of it than they are.

The medical droid is something that I can guarantee you that I will get straight to work with. However, I will need to have this training dummy droid explained to me.

What is it that you wish of it?

Ms. Tallith-

First off, thank you. Your expertise is quick becoming a byword amongst people seeking bespoke or elite droids and devices. And let my assure you, my word as a Corellian, these are not going to be used as shock troops or warriors. After Ilum, it's come to my attention that we as Jedi... We as Jedi, orthodox or not, need to do better in our training of our younglings and padawans. I had intended to approach you about a lesser order for my personal training facilities, but duty and serendipity have called me back to the Alliances' space, and I have seen a need amongst the NJO. And Ilum has driven it home to realize it is a need Galaxy wide.

The medical droid I was hoping to base off a limited repulsor lift, so it can reach us no matter what terrain or obstacles we have set up for the training field. Minor injectors for pain meds, burn treatments, and a good solid BLS treatment grade med-droid brain. If an arm is off, I won't expect it to put it back together. But stopping any bleeding or the like for transport to the MedBay is what would be the apex of their abilities. Vital signs diagnostics could be useful, and I suppose basic attachments to help should someone develop an asthmatic like reaction as well. Those are things I can think of, but not all of them need be included.

The training droids I was hoping to base, in a way, off several prior models I acquired for personal use, but on a more sturdy and less limited design. A hope being we could also rig a limited self learning droids for lightsaber dueling. The more they fight against us, the more they learn and understand the styles of Lightsaber combat. To that end, given my Mastery of the various lightsaber styles, I can provide demonstration for basic programming if need be. My recommendation would be three types or settings for Padawan/Knight/Master, so we can try and curb the ability.

As well, a probe droid or remote droid with stunning/numbing setting for it's attack would be welcome as a very basic tool for teaching deflection and footwork. Nothing special there, except some sort of shielding where a strike back from it's own weaponry or a training saber deactivate it rather than causing any physical damage.

Let me know if you need more information and i'll try.

Master Sedaire,

I have weighed your proposal back and forth for the last few hours and come to the conclusion that your offer is reasonable. Not that I really expected the New Jedi Order to be anything less, of course. The medical assistance droid will be created with mobility and function in mind, just as you wished and we both agree that a repulsorlift would be ideal for movement. If you are willing, I could try to expand what stims it has available to allow it to function in more situations than just training exercises. Adrenaline shots, trauma shots, vigor shots, something that could — if it ever came to it — allow the droid to also turn into a useful support drone in case of an intrusion on the temple grounds.

I had someone very close to me who got tangled up in the Mandalorian Massacre. I would hate to see it happen to someone else.

As for the saber droid, I think you have the right idea. I myself am no real saber combatant — in fact, I more often than not find that using my fists works a lot better — but I recognize the Jedi and their attachments to said weapon. If you wanted me to get into sabers I’m afraid you’d find the droid lacking in much else than defense. The probe droid you speak of could easily be built into the training droid itself as a detachable module. I will show you what I mean when I show you my sketches.

So unless you have anything you need to add, I’ll pack my bags and head to Sullust as soon as possible.
