Designed within the labyrinthine shipyards of Exegol, the Onager-type Heavy Cruiser was a solution to a growing problem within the Final Dawn Navy. A heavy focus on heavy capital vessels left the fleets of the Neo-Imperial regime lacking dedicated support craft, and with major operations against the New Imperial Order and Galactic Alliance, the Final Dawn Supreme War Command sought to remedy this problem with a new line of warships. Designed by the Epoch Engineering Corporation, the Onager class of Heavy Cruiser was to a Star Destroyer where there could not be one, a battleship unto itself.
To that end, the warship is equipped with dozens of turbolaser and ion cannons, and layer upon layer of advanced defenses.
