On the Scent

"Well, actually, that's not a bad idea. I'm a funny guy, they might just throw credits at me instead of their lightsabers," Varren said with a chuckle, "Are we almost there?"

Krizs watched Rhodes brief them, tuning out most of what he said. Something about a Jedi? Or maybe it was a comment about the smell of taun taun entrails. Varren started walking off, down into the dark lit corridors of the shadowy base.

"Hey, Kel'Dor, why don't you come with me? It's dark here and I'm scared. What if there are Wampas here," He said, in a mocking tone, "also, I'd step away from that ledge if I were you, never know when the ice could give way."

Varren flicked his headlamp on, filling the dark, cold void with a beam of light. Droplets of water falling were reverberated throughout the cavernous abyss. Various instrument panels still sat in silence. Years of inactivity left these monitors useless, broken, and fragile. Various passageways remained blocked by cave ins. Who knows how many people could've been trapped, cold, helpless, and ultimately dead.

"Scary stuff..." Varren said with a hint of actual fear.

Vaak Lest

A Kel-Dor that isn't a jedi
Vaak was far more disturbed by the freezing air than anything eerie-looking within the ruins of Echo Base. Dark? Whatever. Death? Meh. Cold? You've crossed the line.

Vaak looked down at [member="Varren Krizs"] as he exclaimed his fear to him. I do not understand. Why is he so infatuated with me? Does my size bring him more comfort than intimidation? What the heck is a Wampa?

"Also, I'd step away from that ledge if I were you, never know when the ice could give way."

Vaak stepped away from the ledge he stood near, not even noticing this beforehand. Now feeling a bit more tense, Vaak took his wookie-manufactured pistol, Rage, in his hand and turned to Varren once more, "It would be unwise to split up from the rest of the group."

Marcus nodded as Rhodes explained the situation. They were a bit into the base now and the ice shone a bright white as their flashlights bounced around the large ruin of a hangar. He looked to the Kel'Dor and Varren who were blabbering away now deeper into the halls and he gave a slow pursuit of the two. When Varren mentioned the hazard that was formed by the ledge, Marcus looked over the icy rail that still maintained a presence on the wall nearest to him and shone his flashlight down into the icy cavern below... Spooky.

Suddenly, he heard a bang from deeper within the hallways. It was not loud, but it was noticeable. He gripped the handle of his E-11 a bit tighter and strode on with the rest of them. This was a very hazardous place indeed, and a Wampa just might have made its home here. The Wampas were said to prefer pre-existing cave formations as opposed to digging out their own, and this would certainly be a golden find for one of the beasts. The young Mandalorian's breathing quickened slightly as a shard of ice dropped to the floor with an audible Koof and shattered on the icy floor.

"Beware of falling ice... Beats me why anyone would want to hide out here... I'd take Nar Shaddaa in a heart beat..."

Rhodes followed the bounty hunters through the cave, and kept a look out for any Wampas or other such monsters. After picking his way past a human skeleton, he spoke to the rest of the small fellowship. "I'd turn on my lifeform scanners, if I were you. Might be able to detect our quarry, or even detect some Wampa." He turned on his own scanner, not picking up anything yet. Though his scanner didn't show it, he could feel them closing in on the Jedi...

Vaak Lest

A Kel-Dor that isn't a jedi
Vaak turned on his heads-up-display, the small one-eyed visor popping up out of his earpiece and over his left eye. Like his mask, it was a little bit outdated, so he couldn't instantly make out anything. Yet.

Marcus' eyes scanned the room, and of course, all he saw was the glistening of ice as multiple flashlights poked their rays of light onto the gleaming surfaces. It was all very quiet still, and the room only echoed slightly with the sound of the wind that still whistled away outside. The young mandalorian had almost every type of scanner on his HUD, and none of them were picking up anything... Well that was not completely true, it was still giving off the extreme temperatures warning.

"Not much moving down here besides us... Do you think they know we're coming?"

He said the last sentence to no one in particular, but only to voice his own concern that perhaps a Jedi was waiting to decapitate them all in one fell swoop. They would certainly be able to hide will in all of these corridors...
