Davik Tren

The Friendly Fiend

In Orbit of Mustafar
Aboard the Rouge Star
Davik fiddled with the small stylus that accompanied his datapad as the ship's viewscreen displayed the dark, red lighted planet that dominated the system. It was a bleak looking world, yet also chaotic. Something about the planet never seemed right to whoever visited and many did not bother coming within a parsec... Unless they had proper reason to. The spacer did indeed have proper reason to. He had been told to retrieve a rare mineral from the planet. The Hutts saw some value in the item, but of course it was no concern to the ambitious smuggler.

This would not be an easy job and he had known before he came. The factory that held the mineral had completely closed down after it's discovery, likely to keep it a secret from their competition. No information escaped the hutts, especially anything that was worth the credits. Davik had been told by his contact on Ryloth that war droids, miners, and auto turrets were to be expected at the facility, and this was the least of his worries as the infiltration would be taking place from the outside where lava flew into the sky regularly and would be quite the trouble if anything were to happen to the shielding of the facility.

Davik smirked and began to think that he was OVERthinking this. He had pulled off worse jobs than this, and with his new "companion" he had little fear of any tin cans or some bantha smelling miners that would want to put a damper on his mood. With one last flip of the stylus Davik stood up from the controls that were set to Autopilot and shouted back into the ship to gain the attention of his accomplice.

"I hope you're ready! Were touching down soon. Head up here, and be fast! We gotta get moving..."

Rianna jogged over to [member="Davik Tren"]. "Oh I'm ready" she said, grinning. She was excited to go on a mission, it had been a while since her last exciting one. "So what's the plan?" She asked, genuinely not even knowing much about this mission. "What will we be encountering?" She had so many questions, but it was best to stick to the most important ones.

Davik smiled at the girl's eagerness. He knew that she would prove useful, especially being an exile from the order. A lightsaber seemed like it could only come in handy on this specific mission at any rate. The smuggler pulled out a small datapad and with the press of a button, a 3D hologram of the facility structure appeared.

"This is the Pang'Kat Mining Facility. The main entrances and seconday entrances are guarded by standard war droids, along with overseers. While they arent much of a problem individually, if they sound that alarm we get swarmed. Therefore, we will be dropping on to the top of the facility. The security on the roof of the main facility is relatively low, and most importantly, the volcanic ash interferes with the war droid's sensors up there. Once we take out the droids on the roof, we head to the roof of this chamber here and with the help of this..." Davik pointed at the lightsaber that was hooked around Rianna's belt. "We will cut our way through the roof and into this hallway, and from there it is a straight shot into the chamber containing the crates. We will be able to lift out the crates by means of winch from the ship, which will begin hovering over the facility when I signal the autopilot. And from there, it is a clean shot up one of the winches and were away... Questions?"

Davik grabbed his heavy blaster from one of the panels and placed it in it's holster and placed on a breath mask, mostly to hide his organs from the intense amount of ash on the roof of the building. He offered one to Rianna as well, and wondered how she felt about the entire idea. In the smuggler's mind, it was a straight and sure shot, but he had been wrong before, and he had no want for someone else to be hurt on the trip.

"No questions. Seems pretty straight forward" she said, thinking about the plan. She accepted the breath mask, for she didn't want her lungs to be full of ash. "Thank you" she said, putting it on. "Try to keep up with me." Rianna grinned and stepped towards the exit ramp.

"Right, just try not to melt." Davik smiled at the girl and pressed the button to lower the ramp. As soon as a small opening slit was created as the ramp opened, a flood of hot air and bits of ash flew into the ship's contained ramp area. At least it would not get in the ship...

"Right let's go! Just land on the roof, it is directly below!"

With that, Davik jumped out of the ship and looked for the area of blackness below, which would be the durasteel of the roof. When he saw it, he quickly angled his feet down and engaged the rocket boosters on his boots that would slow his fall, though not holding enough thrust to stop him falling from direct exiting, they had enough thrust to slow his descent on this occasion.

"No promises" Rianna said, smirking. When the door opened, she ran to the edge, then did a backflip off and used the force to cushion her landing. She stood up and looked around, trying to see through the thick amount of ash in the air..

Davik landed a small bit after her and turned off the booster rockets quickly before looking around for her as well. He soon saw her turning about and looking around before he turned on a signaling flashlight to show his own location and then nodded to her to follow him.

Rianna saw a light and jogged over to where [member="Davik Tren"] was. She silently followed him, her hand reaching for her lightsaber. She rested her hand on it, ready to pull it out at a moment's notice. The ash was hard to see through, but she could still see him a few feet in front of her.

Davik began to walk on the roof slowly and looked around for war droids. To be honest, he could not see much either. He soon, however, noticed glinting armor near the edge of the roof and quickly sneaked up and pushed the droid off the ledge and down into the magma.

"Remember the droids... There are two more up here that I can see. If you think you could take care of them while I try and find out where the best place to cut is."

As [member="Davik Tren"] destroyed a droid, Rianna saw another one in the distance. Drawing her energy bow, she shot a plasma arrow into the droid, knocking it into the lava. "Make that one more" she said and smiled, looking around for the last one. "You do that."

The Friendly Fiend
Davik nodded with approval as she shot yet another droid into the lava, and then he began to ping the roof of the structure to find the weakest entrance point into the hallway from above. He soon found a thin panel of durasteel that could probably be removed for maintenance and then he messaged Rianna with his comlink, "Found an entrance point...Find the last droid... Come slice this plate open once it is dealt with."

"I'll be there soon" Rianna said as she pounced onto the last droid, ripping it in half with her white bladed lightsaber. She then jogged over to Davik, easily slicing a decent sized opening in the area he had pointed out. "Ladies first" she teased, motioning for him to go first.

Davik smiled and jumped down after her, to which they entered a dimly lit, white hallway. The corridor was very thin and there did not seem to be any activity. With a slight look of confusion Davik began working on the lock that on the door to the mineral chamber. He was slightly confused that there were not any guards but it was soon apparent that there were. As soon as the door slid open, they were met by five angry war droids with blasters drawn and aimed. As soon as they opened fire Davik took cover behind the wall of the door and let a few bolts loose back into the chamber, killing one of the droids.

"Damn! They will know where we are soon! Rianna, it's time to slice up some clankers if you'd please!"

Rianna smiled as she ducked around the corner. "Will do." She whirled around the corner, batting blaster bolts back at the droids. Several of them went down, and she threw her lightsaber into the second to last droid. As for the last one, she used the force to crumple it into a ball. "You can come out now" she said, giggling

"Heh... Not bad... I find exiles to always be the best fighters anyways. Jedi just can't handle their power." Davik winked at the girl and began looking around at the boxes that were in the room. Guards had certainly heard those shots and they would be on their way, but that could be dealt with later, or not at all if they were fast. Soon he located the box, the box with a large red symbol of the company on it. He opened it to reveal several plates of black metallic sheets. "Here they are... Alright let me just open up the loading bay doors." Davik then ran over to a control panel and quickly sliced into it. After pressing a series of buttons, the ceiling opened up, and their ship was seen far overhead. After he had done so, he faced back to Rianna and winked as the hook for the cargo fell in. "Lets load 'er up." Davik then dragged the crate over as the sounds of boots on durasteel came from the hallway. Multiple miners and wardroids began to swarm in firing blasters and throwing rocks at the two to save their precious minerals. With a few short blaster arcs towards the crowd, Davik brought down more than five men, however he kept dragging the crate towards the hook. "Get these guys out of here! We are almost there!"

Rianna watched as he opened the doors. All of a sudden, tons of people came pouring in and shooting. Rianna let loose a giant force push, sending a large amount of them flying back. She shot several arrows into the crowd and then ran in, cutting several down with her lightsaber. As she sliced through the mob, she gave a faint grin. She enjoyed slicing things, maybe more than she should.

Davik looked back for a moment at the intense combat that was ensuing as he continued to fire his own bolts back. When she was slicing through the multiple droids and bodies alike, it appeared like an art. Every slice and cut was followed with a precise next blow. It took great concentration, he could tell, for a being to do this, but Rianna had it down to a craft.

As the crate finally attatched to the hook, Davik called out to Rianna, "Come on! We're outta here!" Davik then signaled his ship to bring up the wench as he held a hand down for Rianna as the basket raised.

Rianna jumped onto a droid's head, launching herself up to Davik. She grabbed his hand, whick was the only thing stopping her from falling. "Whatever you do, don't let go." she said, pulling herself up. She looked down at the carnage that she had left and smiled at her work

"Going up!" Davik laughed a bit as the winch took full speed and the two were pulled up through the foggy haze of smoke and factory debris that were left behind in the escape. The mangled pile of droid parts and organic parts was quite impressive and it was only clearer how experienced of a fighter the girl actually was. "Hang on to me when we hit the ship. This is a drop you wouldn't care to experience..."

"Will do" Rianna said as they were hauled up. Once they hit the ship, she wrapped her arms around him. "Like this?" she asked, giggling.
