“We offer explosive solutions.“

Welcome to Omega Pyre, the elite strike force of the Omega Protectorate. We are looking for new soldiers, dedicated and skilled men and women ready to fight and defeat the enemies of the Protectorate, both force-users and non-force users. All are welcome who are ready to follow our laws and give their utmost. Since our foundation we have acquired great combat experience across a variety of fronts, fighting warlords, zombie outbreaks, waging a campaign against the savage Bando Gora that will soon take us to their homeworld, and aiding the Republic in fighting Sith incursions.

You can check out our tech here.

Perhaps the OP weapon that is most iconic is the Boltgun, in the standard configuration firing explosive rounds that explode on impact, meaning force pushes are inefficient against them, as the weapon was designed to give the NFUs heavy firepower.

What is the difference between the Omega Defence Force and Omega Pyre?
The Omega Defence Force is composed of the regular navy and army, the latter is far larger than Omega Pyre, but its main task is national defence. It is deployed in offensive actions when the resistance is to great for a strike force to overcome. In a conventional war against a rival great power it would be committed in full force. By contrast Omega Pyre is a small, elite force, created for rapid strikes, sabotage and boarding operations, emphasising speed, superior tech and professional over attrition. It is divided in five battalions with five hundred men each and a support contingent of tanks, walkers and armoured personnel carriers, supported by gunships.

Are you still mercenaries?
Both yes and no. While we no longer purely a PMC unit, we still hire ourselves out to other groups when the terms are right and we can agree with their goals. For instance, an Omega Pyre Battalion aided Republic forces during the Battle of Roche, fighting alongside the Republic’s 73rd Battalion against superior Sith forces, and later during the Battle of Mandalore a small commando team supported the Republic and the Mandalorians against the Sith. Most recently an Omega Pyre force under Siobhan Kerrigan is engaging Sith forces on Metalorn in support of the Jedi-Republic campaign.

What roles can members play?
Pretty much any! You can be an assault trooper, wielding the deadly boltgun, command a tank or an assault walker, pilot bombers, gunships and dropships, be a medic or an officer. We are also open to force-users and do not limit ourselves to one force-using tradition, eagerly embracing talent from a wide range of groups. However, non-forcers form an integral part of our organisation and hold key positions, the most senior being Major @Delila Castillonhttp://starwarsrp.net/user/10-delila-castillon/, XO to Colonel Kerrigan. What matters is skill, not whether someone has magic powers or not. We have recruited former Republic soldiers, a cyborg, a supersoldier from the Old Empire, a deadly HRD and an Iron Knight. Omega Pyre is divided in five battalions that have three assault companies with support staff, with an armoured company of tanks and walkers, focusing on fast strikes over attrition tactics to hit the enemy hard and where it hurts.

Do you allow force-users?
Absolutely, and we offer them ample training opportunities. Colonel @Siobhan Kerrigan, the tactical commander of Omega Pyre, is a Force Master, specialising in telekinesis mastery and offensive tactics. Omega Pyre has former Jedi, Jensaarai and Angelii (elf force-users with elemental powers such as fire) among its ranks.

Training opportunities?
Yes, very much so! Not only do we offer training in force powers, but also in techniques of how to counter force-users, such as using the bolter. Moreover, in addition to our force specialists we have a skilled lightsabre trainer in form of the Iron Knight @HK-36http://starwarsrp.net/user/1104-hk-36/, who has millennia of experience training Jedi.

What is your stance on darksiders?
We recruit them on a case-by-case basis. To use an extreme example, someone who torments people to sate sadistic urges or nurtures fantasies of galactic domination will not be recruited. However, someone who dabbles in the darkside and as a combat pragmatist uses force lightning or force bellow will not be turned away, provided he/she can obey our laws. However, Omega Pyre will not recruit Sith under any circumstance. While we are not in a state of war with the Empire, we are opposed to their methods and ideals. Likewise we will not accept any Sith contracts.

What are your Rules of Engagement?
Omega Pyre tries to limit collateral damage where possible. We expect professionalism, but equally we acknowledge that war is often a brutal, ugly affair, where officers and soldiers must make hard choices to protect their unit and achieve victory. This has become abundantly clear during our war with the Bando Gora, who see slaughter as an end in itself. Above all we are pragmatists.

What's payment like?
We pay 5-15% above standard market rate depending on who it is. You will also receive a proportion of the net profits from any contract operation you participate in.

How do I join?
New recruits can apply at the Omega Pyre Tower on Fondor, our headquarters, or at one of our subsidiary recruitment offices on Naboo, Eriadu, Corellia or Malastare (or rather go here and post an introduction: http://starwarsrp.ne.../92-omega-pyre/).
